Wildrose offers a home for any religion including fundamentalist Christians. Anyone who believes in a literal reading of the Bible understands that the preacher is merely trying to save wayward souls. A literal reading of the Bible isn't kind to queers.

All the other parties line up to tell conservative Christians how unwelcome they are. There are a lot of Chistians in Alberta who believe in a literal Bible. Wildrose now owns them.

The wonderful thing about an election is that if you are concerned about someone's religion you can be a bigot and reject them for their beliefs.

All I can say is that I cannot thank Warren enough for how he has helped the LPC. I hope he helps them just that little bit more.

I was chatting with a prominent WR member about all the racism crap that's being tossed around. The conversation went off the rails pretty quickly. By that I mean that we wound up talking about how cool we thought The Coz, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Irshad Manji, and Tina Turner are instead of the original bitch session we were working ourselves up for.

Yup, that's us: Total haterz. (snort)

The PCs planned this intolerance gambit long ago, and the sad thing is, it works to some degree.

They have the muzzles extra-tight on their own religious loose cannons...our PC candidate Dave Dorward didn't even show up to the all-candidates forum this week, they sent some party flak in his place. I suspect they have made sure Mr. Dorward is bound and gagged in some basement someplace, while the PCs play the religion card. You don't see the news media reporting on that.

Warren is the type of "expert" a political organization has to rely on as a last resort.
After that they got nothing.
Hopefully the liberals keep him on until they cease to exist.

I think Albertans pretty much look at conservative Christians with a ho hum attitude. We know they are not racists etc. We do find Liberal slugs like Kinsella offensive. What happened to smart guy Kinsella's Liberal Party? You don't hear much from them anymore. The old Reform Party has run Canada for the last 6 years and the next 4 years. We employ people to count the votes. No machines are used. I simply don't trust them. Edmonton used to use them for municipal elections years ago.

A voting place might have 10 or more polls, each consisting of 2 people. Before they go home, they have to count the ballots in their boxes. Because the count is done by so many different people, the chance of stealing an election is rare. If the vote in a constituency is close it is recounted.

I find it very heartening that Warnout Kantsellya is so irate about this Wild Rose party, and can't seem to shut up about what a bunch of wingnuts/racists/bigot/homophobes they are.

That means its pretty much in the bag for Danielle Smith.

Ontario is in the middle of doing the same thing Scar. We just had an election here with the worst showing possible by the PCs under Hudak. McGuinty should have been decimated, instead he's got a solid minority and the NDPee gained seats too.

One can't help but be impressed with Danielle Smith and the political courage that she has shown over the campaign. When two of her candidates made the mistake of speaking in a politically incorrect manner, the easiest and safest route for Ms. Smith would have been to throw both miscreants under the bus and go into damage control mode. Yet she steadfastly stood behind both men. Name another politician capable of such conviction and fearlessness.

Danielle Smith also had the audacity to publicly question the mega scam of man-made global warming when most, if not all, politicians would have issued some nonsensical feel-good pronouncement even when they had serious doubts about the whole debacle. Now this takes a good deal of courage especially during an election campaign.

Isn't it about time that this country had some politicians who weren't too timid to speak their minds or to stand behind their teammates when they stray beyond the boundaries of political correctness?
