OMG and WTF!   Yup, without a doubt, we're screwed.
.

When you imagine all the films based on historical events, SHEIZA!

But they do believe in evolution and globull warming...cause that is real too!!!

Love the masthead:

Think globally, act locally, and demand handouts.

I've found another place to waste 15 minutes a day!

Its not only the Ladies of this age. The boys are just as stupid. They know a lot about transgenderisam though.

How dare you toy with my emotions so! I had my hopes up when I clicked that link.

Now look at the nightmares Twitter has created, next they'll be thinking Aliens are coming to get them.

Here's another insightful revelation from the twit world:

OMG where have you been, living in some cave with Osama Bin Laden? Everybody on Twitter knows that the sinking of the Titanic was caused by humans burning fossil fuels and causing Global Warming/Climate Change. That's why James Cameron made a movie about it just like he did with Avatar.
You know, like, haven't you, like, been paying attention to, you know, anything?

Perhaps the "in crowd" children were just trying to be funnay, you know?

OMG... I just now see why the Titanic was taken out by Mother Nature. Can you imagine how much C02 would have been in the atmosphere had she accually had a full seaworthy life.

They probably also would think that saving private Ryan was based on a fictitious war.

That's not the worst of it. I had a resident working with me whose first degree was in Canadian History. In conversation I raised a point about the six nations of the Iroquois. Not only had he no clue as to the names of those six nations (which I subsequently rattled off to him), he was completely unaware that there was such a thing as the Iroquois confederacy. When, incredulous, I asked him what he knew about Vimy Ridge, he came up equally blank.
(I later learned he'd worked as a volunteer for Hedy Fry's campaign -- GIGO)
To be honest, I couldn't blame him. I actually felt sorry for him. Big Education has impoverished our children. History is so rich with human experience and a dumbed down, completely debased curriculum has utterly deprived our kids of their heritage. They are so much the poorer as a result.

Soooo...Is Dicaprio dead or what?

"Think globally, act locally, rat out your parents"

History? Like why would you want to study that? History is written by some dead white guys and it's all about what those dead white guys did to their victims and how they won the day and all that.

If Leo's dead? Are they going to bury him in his Fister?

Oops. I meant Fisker. Dang fat fingers.

My favorite: "Nobody told me titanic was real? How am I just finding this out?"

Thanks Freud.

What bugs me is that in every church I go they make statements like "We gotta reach the young generation. They're the smartest generation in history and they can see right through anything fake. So we gotta be 'real' in order to reach them".

I call bull on it whenever it's said. Dumbest generation ever in recorded history.

This was the topic this week with Bill Whittle's Afterburner. ...

People actually landed on the moon? (not just a video of the event, and what's a "slide rule")

The Titanic wasn't just a movie?

What's a world war?

To be expected when universities, including those in Canada, give extra credits to students for global competency and being global minded citizens.

Just you wait, they'll start thinking all disaster movies were real events.

RD - too true, wish it weren't. Perversion conversion.

Careful with the broad brush, although my Niece is probably the exception. When 13 she knew most everything about the Titanic. Self taught, public school system was irrelevant.

Yeah well...I'm not terribly surprised.....

I recall about 30 years back....in a doctor's waiting room with my dad and a few of his cronies present asking a young lady what grade she was in...

"Grade 13"

Do you take history?

"Oh yeah...we took that last year. I got my credit!"

OK...you have heard about an event called WW2?

"Oh yeah...and the 4 major battles."

Really? Name them please...

"Pearl Harbour, Dunkirk, Stalingrad...and Kursk!"

Leo is dead ?

Don't tease me like that, Kate.

Oh for crying out loud. Leonardo was a painter who lived hundreds of years ago. Of course he's dead by now.

The social engineers take pride in their "no child left behind" policies while in reality every child is left behind. Home schooling or private schools are the only solution. Getting rid of teachers unions is the only way the system can be salvaged.

As sad as the knowledge of history is, economics, is worse.
The Titanic is a glaring example of "To Big To Fail"....

Glengarrian, best quote of the day. Thanks.

@ Bemused

True, funny, love it.

Pathetic Uneducated Liberal Nitwits churned out of our socialist puppymill school systems.

So the generation will be known as Z ? Kind of boxed themselves in haven't they. Zombies maybe ? That got me thinking of whatever happened to Preperation A through G. I still have mental pictures of some poor guy running out of the Lab with flames belching out of his ass. But I digress, where do we go after generation Z ?

Sad but true: a gentleman of my acquaintance once had a long conversation with a 20-something girl who didn't know we had landed on the moon. Really.

Sasquatch, Kursk was from most points of view a more important battle than Stalingrad. The Germans recovered from Stalingrad and were on the offensive again by spring. They never recovered from Kursk.

As to the other choices, well, they were high profile but not as dispositive as other battles. To the extent it saved the British army, Dunkirk was important, but not so much as D-Day, or Caen or Falaise after D-Day, for the outcome of the war in France. And God knows Pearl Harbour mattered, but Midway or the Coral Sea determined the Pacific war.
