Somebody Get David Suzuki a Box of Kleenex

In her latest column, Margaret Wente outlines why David Suzuki is so upset. Here's an excerpt:

In fact, Mr. Suzuki believes the movement has been going backward for 20 years: “We didn’t sell the right message.” Instead of arguing that environmental responsibility could co-exist with economic growth, he thinks, in effect, that the movement should have argued that we must abandon the quest for economic growth altogether. “We thought if we stop this dam, if we stop this clear-cutting, that’s a great success. But we didn’t deal with the underlying destructiveness, which was the mindset that attacked the forest or wanted to build the dam.”

Earth to Dave and his ilk: Perhaps not smearing your opponents and avoiding all debate with them might not have been the best idea? Perhaps outright lying about the facts might not have been so smart either? Perhaps walking the talk rather than being an eco-hypocrite might have been advisable?

Ezra Levant sums up the abject failure that has been Suzuki's crusade against progress:

That reminds me, I havn't attacked a forest in a while...chop chop.

The chickens are finally coming home to roost on the FruitflyGuy. And those are some biiiiig fricking chickens.

Hey, he's an animal lover, you'd think he'd be happy. ~:D

Sigh...

Sad to witness the demise of a Sun God.

Hail to The Chief...or something like that.

Climate Change is the religion of the NWO.

It's central premise is that humans are a DISEASE upon the earth. The ancillary movements: PETA, abortion, population control, global warmthinkery provide the fodder.

The object is to get people to believe that the Earth will be better off if they themselves are dead. This VASTLY simplifies the logistics of culling several billion people.

We now have young people, bewildered, conflicted, emotionally ill, who want to live, but simultaneously believe that they are a plague upon the earth. These people will file in an orderly fashion into the gas chambers.

Oh yes the great Margret Wente telling us shleps how great the charlatan David, really is. The same Margret Wente that when on with Adler during the height of Iggulas and E. Jacks and Dionskys coup-scam, Dec. 08, she told Adler when asked "Why do you hate Harper", " I don't know, I just hate him, all my girlfriends hate him so I do to". What an oracle this "twit" is. Stick to recipes and human interest Margret, at least you'll have Jeannie Becker and Heather Mallick reading your drivel.

You Canadians are so lucky to have Ezra Levant. He's your own version of Andrew Breitbart....who we are DESPERATE to replace.

Losing was always in the cards for this clown and his ilk.
He needed a Red Army and all he got was a bunch of media dupes and smelly hippy's.

Exactly when did he or his organisation accept any form of economic growth. From start to finish the propaganda was anti-human and anti-growth.

I get a tingle up my leg whenever Ezra gets on a rant!

What's really interesting here is why did Dr. Dave step down? Is there an audit coming? And a quick perusal of the DSF website shows that his wife and two of his kids sit on the board.

Which raises some questions...has David disassociated himself from his foundation in the same manner that Paul Martin did from CSL?

Will they rename it The David Suzuki's Wife and Kids Foundation?

syncro

that what I asked yesterday, did he jump or was he pushed:-))))

and if Ezera gives the jerk a couple of more body blows like that, sooooker will be toast

Mr. Suzuki says he stepped down in the fall of last year.

He added a youtube to his Santa scam site on Dec.2nd. So somewhere between then and the 21st.,he stepped down. OTOH,he could be lying, again.

I think that he is attempting to disassociate himself from his foundation so that he can go all out attacking the Conservatives. I bet that he is not too happy about the charity probes or the cuts to his dear cbc.

Where are the RCMP, with a forensic audit? They just went after SNC Lavalin for some monkey-business, but what the DSF is doing is borderline treason, it doesn't matter if the foreign government is friendly.

Ezra did a great job. Canada's Breitbart, as someone said earlier. Only better because he's so smiley

Suzuki crossed the biggest line of all with his pathetically cruel 'ice surfing' at the North Pole. I would guess that even his indoctrinated supporters found that one to be over the top. This man scares me to death. Imagine what he has really done to a generation of youth with his ideology. To know that he has entered living rooms via programming, schools via his created persona and political parties via his environmental props defies logic when his genius is the equivalent to say....a fruit fly.

NME666

If I recall correctly, last fall was about when Vivian Krause's revelations of foriegn funding to NGO's started to break hard.

Coincedence?

Genius and cunning are different things Bec...

Ezra needs to be given the order of Canada pronto.

And in four years name him governor general.

Great item by Ezra! Love this guy.

Twenty three years ago (1989), Harrowsmith magazine in Canada (a liberal, back-to-the land periodical) featured a story about David Suzuki. The article was written by David Lees. It was titled, The man who cries wolf. Remember the year—1989. Here is an excerpt. It is not clear what year this refers to, but I assume 1987 or 1988. No matter…well over twenty years back.

___________________ Start quote from article _______________________
In one of his last columns in the Globe, Suzuki quoted Ehrlich's view of public apathy about the perils of economic growth … A few weeks later, when the Star began to publish the column,
Ehrlich was featured in it regularly. “Ehrlich concludes that it would be a dangerous miscalculation to look to technology for the answer to [environmental problems]. Scientific analysis points toward the need for a quasi-religious transformation of contemporary culture.” … and three weeks after that [Suzuki wrote], “Stanford University ecologist Paul Ehrlich reminds us that … we face a ‘billion environmental Pearl Harbors all at once.’ ” On December 2, Suzuki wrote, “We no longer have the luxury of time … when people like Paul Ehrlich of Stanford University …tell us we only have a decade to turn things around.” And in his Christmas column on December 13, Suzuki wrote, “As eminent ecologist Paul Ehrlich says, ‘the solution to ecocatastrophe is quasi-religious.’”

___________________ End quote from article _______________________

Well twenty three years ago they got the religious predictions correct … but little else. In 1989, the eco crowd was saying “we only have a decade to turn things around.”

This charlatan should be convicted for fraud and for crimes against humanity for diverting money and attention away from the real needs of millions: adequate health care and clean water.

If anyone wants the Harrowsmith article I have a PDF of it. I drag it out now and then.

Clive

I would love a copy of that Clive.

So start the site C dam on the Peace, already! What are we waiting for? I know some of the farmers in the area and they are looking for the big payout. They pretend to be great environmentalists, so it would be charitable to sell it a the price offered for the cleanest energy man knows of.

Attended a debate many years ago when I was in university in which fly man was one of the participants.

Going into the debate I did not know that much about him, except that he was supposedly a great scientist. Came out of the debate realizing he wasn't a scientist's backside, and a complete jerk to boot. Horrible man. Bitter, sour, always unhappy, hates progress, and most importantly hates the truth when it disagrees with his religion. In all the years since that debate I have never found a more arrogant ass than him.

He is a creepy man.

David make his living from the misery of mankind.

Parents with kids in schools that show crap from Suzuki in class should tear a strip off the teacher and the principal and insist his BS be kept out of the classroom. His propaganda runs deep and teachers browbeat his crap into students heads every day.

Chairman Suzi's brain has been stuck on stupid since at least 1984 when I heard him say pretty much the same anti-human tripe at a speech he gave at the U of R.

Back then he said 1 billion people was the maximum number of humans the Earth should support, we should abandon medicine to prolong our lives (wonder if he'd volunteer to show us) and that mankind should revert back to a wholesome existence in log cabins using no modern technology.

He's been trying for almost 30 years to re-invent the "Great Leap Forward" and all it's consequences. How can someone hate people so much?

*
just ask journalist licia corbella about perennial cbc idol "saint david"...

I approached Suzuki to get a quick quote about the importance of saving
this wilderness from logging.

He was curt. "Not now," he said. Silly me, but I took that to mean later.
So, a little later and a lot more sheepishly, I approached the renowned
environmentalist again and again he snapped, "not now."

Shortly before I was slated to get back on the helicopter and head back
to civilization to file my stories, I approached Suzuki one last time.

This time he was clearer.

"Fuck off," he snapped.

"I get a tingle up my leg whenever Ezra gets on a rant!"

soccermom wins quote of the year award!!!

What Suzuki is doing is all part of his revenge against Canada for putting his family and other Japanese into internment camps during WW2 after confiscating all their property and savings.
Suzuki is a very bitter man with a plan; that's obvious to anyone who meets him personally.

Re: "we must abandon the quest for economic growth altogether"

That would be the worst, meanest "austerity" program the world has ever seen. How many loony lefties would be chanting in the streets?

Probably none, because they'd be too busy doing back-breaking labour in the fields from dawn to dusk to have the strength to riot.

I will repeat Ayn Rand's famous quote yet again: "The socialists claimed that, when their system took over, everyone would have shoes. When they discovered the truth, they declared that it was preferable to go barefoot."

The goal is not to sacrifice economic growth for the environment, the goal is to sacrifice everything for political power for a small cabal of loony leftists.

These people will file in an orderly fashion into the gas chambers.
~Dystopian Optimist

Nope, no cattle cars, no gas chambers.
They'll queue up for their H1N1 shot and instead of being a vaccine it'll be influenza.
We've already seen the dry run where they issued a placebo to measure compliance.

TJ wrote: "Attended a debate many years ago when I was in university in which fly man was one of the participants."

Might that have been the Rushton /Suzuki debate at UWO?

Rushton plodded along, methodically presenting his methodologies, the data, and the findings.

Suzuki offered no rebuttal, not a shred of data to counter Rushton's research, but for an hour, interjected and bleated "That's not science. That's not science" over and over and over.

It was a pitiful performance.

The dry academic scientist, versus a political character assassin.

I fail to see why this vile little eco-tard hasn't been called out before this.. however, when you consider, delayed gratification is better tasting, I guess the wait was worth it.

"Might that have been the Rushton /Suzuki debate at UWO?"

Long time ago, but I believe that was the one.

Well done Ezra. Weedy little sazookey trimmed, digging out the root is next.

Someone on Salt Spring Island should take a photo of sazookey's house. He might look like an old hippy but he lives like a Mandarin.

Note to Dr Suzuki: when you deign to practice what you preach, then maybe I'll listen to your message. But as long as your family's annual carbon footprint would keep the average family going for years, your words are just hypocritical.

Notice how little scrutiny it takes to induce panic in these left-wing organizations? They have been coddled by the lefty news media for decades and are helpless against criticism. When New Media, conservative types like Levant or Breitbart go after them, it is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Why should we care if Suzuki is brainwashing a bunch of school children in Cambodia or whatever East Asian country they were in?

We should worry about what he does here, not some Third World country.

GREAT WAVES OF CHANGE ARE COMING TO PLANET EARTH!

We are the stewards of a beautiful planet, vast in it's riches of biological resources.

We are not doing such a great job of assisting Nature. It is having a hard time sustaining the planet. 7 billion and growing! We are experiencing in Nature now the poor job we humans have done in looking after our planet. So we are going to experience THE GREAT WAVES OF CHANGE. In all aspects of life.

the Earth is transitioning to a greater reality.

http://alliesofhumanity.org

For great waves of change are coming to the world, great environmental changes. You are facing a world of diminishing resources; a world whose climate has been affected, generating violent and unpredictable weather; a world where economic and political instability are increasing, and there is a growing risk of conflict and war over the remaining resources. Surely, you cannot just hold on to your preferred way of life, blind in the face of the Great Waves of change.

Many people want and demand change in the world. They see a genuine need for change, but they themselves are unwilling to change. They are unwilling to re-evaluate their thinking, their behavior, their engagements, their beliefs and their attitudes. And so they agitate for change on the outside, but they themselves will not change. They are as entrenched in their position as the people they claim to oppose.

Exactly, we need to start first by getting rid of the hypocritical millionaire jetsetters like Al Gore & Davis Suzuki!

Then we elect common sense small governments like the Wild Rose Party and bring in Libertarian values of self worth.

Then the planet can start to heal.

Canada was a dirty place in 1955. I remember well putting my hand on the porch railing and feeling the grit - black grit, when I pulled my hand away. And this was in Ottawa. In places like Hamilton it was much worse. Pittsburgh was described as "Hell with the lid off". Stone buildings were black. I remember the old Toronto City Hall - black; the Royal Ontario Museum - black. It was the same in Paris and London. London experienced a smog in 1955 which killed 5000 people. It was due to an unholy mixture of smoke from soft coal, and fog.

And then people - ordinary people, businessmen, politicians even, not environmentalists (who didn't exist then) began to institute cleanups. With hydro and oil for power the filthy air could be made fit to breath, and it was. One of the Mellons in Pittsburgh insisted that the city clean up or he would move his businesses out, and the city cleaned up (it is quite attractive now). The old Toronto City Hall was cleaned, and turned out to be a dark rose. The ROM turned out to be made out of stones of varied colour. Both when cleaned were attractive. In the great cities of Europe cleaners got to work, and restored the appearances of historic buildings and monuments. It has taken a generation: there are workmen who have done nothing else in their entire working lives.

And so much of the world was made a cleaner, safer, more attractive place.

And then the "environmentalists" arrived. There wasn't much left to be done, and people such as Patrick Moore did it. Then came the second wave. They mostly were airheads, himbos and bimbos, who remembered nothing, knew nothing and understood nothing; but they wanted to "change the world"; and then the opportunists arrived to exploit them. One of the last was, of course, ...........

lol

Attack David Suzuki, quote a shill site, another blog and Ezra Levant, pretend it's good evidence

small dead animals

Utgardaloki >

Bingo, you nailed it, we need to keep attacking the David Suzuki’s and quoting their shill sites to expose them. Let’s get more proactive with new blogs and encourage more Ezra’s to step up to the plate.

We are finally waking up to the Progressive global tyranny and turning back their useful idiots on the left that sell their corporate greed as Environmental protection, or societal protection with ever more bigger government, disarmed populations, and a total police state security/ surveillance system –All apparently for our own good.

Utgardaloki

Better that quoting oneself which is all anyone can ever seem to get Dr. Fruitfly to do.

driveby-ecoweenie said: "Attack David Suzuki, quote a shill site, another blog and Ezra Levant, pretend it's good evidence."

More evidence than Fruitfly Guy has -ever- had for glowball warming.

TJ and Dystopian Optimist, I remember that Upton/Suzuki debate. It made a pretty big impression on me at the time. Reason being that "The Bell Curve", Rushton's book, has philosophical -and- scientific holes in it big enough to park a bus in. I had high hopes that somebody was going to blow that guy out of the water. He was begging for it.

Suzuki stood there like a putz and called Rushton a "RAAAACIST!" the whole time. As if that was an actual argument. Didn't even try for a reasoned argument. Made no effort. RAAAAACIST!!!!

Since he stopped doing the fruit flys he's never done anything else. Full time Liberal Party bullyboy and eco-scold.

Going to be suhWEET when he finally gets audited and all that furrin' money comes out in the spotlight.

As a matter of fact, I just found the FAWNING CBC coverage of that "debate".
http://www.cbc.ca/archives/categories/arts-entertainment/media/david-suzuki-scientist-activist-broadcaster-1/the-rushton-suzuki-debate.html

One would think that he'd want to hide something like that, but there it is. Hell of a contrast, Rushton and Suzibaby.

Rushton is still an idiot, but at least he's not a blowhard for state TV.

I feel terrible, we have failed Lord Suzuki. Twenty years ago the human race didn't go out and commit mass suicide which is what was really needed to save the planet.

Sod off, Suzuki. Nobody cares about your tears.

There's a high school in my neighborhood named after him. What a joke; how can you name a school after this nut job, and what message does that send our kids, just another reason I don't vote.
