"My plan was a little malicious -- even a little mean-spirited -- but those same words describe the tactics used by Bauer and the rest of the religious right against gays and lesbians."

"I went from doorknob to doorknob. They were filthy, no doubt, but there wasn't time to find a rag to spit on. My immune system wasn't all it should be -- I was in the grip of the worst flu I had ever had -- but I was on a mission. If for some reason I didn't manage to get a pen from my mouth to Gary's hands, I wanted to seed his office with germs, get as many of his people sick as I could, and hopefully one of them would infect the candidate.

So, much as it pains me to confirm a hateful stereotype of gay men -- we will put anything in our mouths -- I started licking doorknobs. The front door, office doors, even a bathroom door. When that was done, I started in on the staplers, phones and computer keyboards. Then I stood in the kitchen and licked the rims of all the clean coffee cups drying in the rack."

What the heck.

"Again, thank you for inviting me. You have prepared food, so I will not be rude, I will stay and eat.

"Let’s have one good meal here. Let’s make it a feast. Then I ask you, I plead with you, I beg you all, walk out of here with me, never to come back. It’s the moral and ethical thing to do. Nothing good goes on in this place. Let’s lock the doors and leave the building to the spiders, moths and four-legged rats."

"Obama has held more re-election fundraisers than previous five Presidents combined"

"Barack Obama has already held more re-election fundraising events than every elected president since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book.

Obama is also the only president in the past 35 years to visit every electoral battleground state in his first year of office.

The figures, contained a in a new book called The Rise of the President’s Permanent Campaign by Brendan J. Doherty, due to be published by University Press of Kansas in July, give statistical backing to the notion that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.

Doherty, who has compiled statistics about presidential travel and fundraising going back to President Jimmy Carter in 1977, found that Obama had held 104 fundraisers by March 6th this year, compared to 94 held by Presidents Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Snr, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined."

FACTS: Since 1913, the dollar has lost 95% of its value; prices have risen 2,200%, the money supply 12,200%

How could it be any other way? The money supply has to increase to pay the debt. All money comes into being as debt.

It's a pyramid scheme.

Sammy, you beat me to it.

Go to BarackObamadot com for Obama's endless campaigning self-glorification about how wonderful he is and what a magnificent job he's done as president.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=1WbQe-wVK9E

The above is just one example. Don't underestimate the depth and breadth of the misinformation and emotional manipulation tactics of Obama. He's lived within these two tactics since he was a young boy and his sole focus is on Himself and his ability to Control Others.

Don't assume that just because the GOP are realists and state the facts about the economy and jobs and foreign relations - that Obama's fictional accounts won't sway the electorate.

I'm tipping this a second time in this thread because a) I'm uncertain of the earlier links b) it's so damn important, viz., without sound money all our partisan political chatter is just hockey and c) I like to promote Ludwig von Mises Institute (consider getting their daily e-mail -- it's extremely valuable).

At the invitation of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Robert Wenzel spoke and had lunch in the bank's Liberty Room on April 25, 2012. Here's his speech in full: New York Fed: Leave the Building

Don't assume that just because the GOP are realists and state the facts about the economy and jobs and foreign relations - that Obama's fictional accounts won't sway the electorate.
- ET.

I completely concur with this ET and won't be at all surprised if O'Bomber gets to continue the bombing campaign for a second term. Quibble: the Republicans aren't going to talk FACTS and REALITY either. I'm of the view that economic collapse is now unavoidable and I'd like the DEMS to wear it.

Me again.
Further to my earlier remarks about sound money, check out this passage from Mises's seminal work The Theory of Money and Credit:

"It is impossible to grasp the meaning of the idea of sound money if one does not realize that it was devised as an instrument for the protection of civil liberties against despotic inroads on the part of governments. Ideologically it belongs in the same class with political constitutions and bills of rights. The demand for constitutional guarantees and for bills of rights was a reaction against arbitrary rule and the nonobservance of old customs by kings. The postulate of sound money was first brought up as a response to the princely practice of debasing the coinage. It was later carefully elaborated and perfected in the age which – through the experience of the American continental currency, the paper money of the French Revolution and the British restriction period – had learned what a government can do to a nation’s currency system."

I wonder if the membership was consulted about their dues going to finance this ? probably not.

Unions outside Quebec help finance student protests

http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/canada/archives/2012/04/20120429-143156.html

MONTREAL - As the largest group representing striking students rejected the government's latest offer, QMI Agency learned that the organization is receiving money from outside Quebec.

At least two Ontario branches of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) voted in April to give the Quebec student association, ASSE, a total of $30,000.

ASSE is the main group in the larger student federation called CLASSE, which represents roughly half of the 170,000 students on strike in Quebec.
CLASSE announced Sunday morning on Twitter that it unanimously rejected Quebec Premier Jean Charest's latest tuition offer, which he made on Friday.

Nancy MacBain, staff representative for CUPE local 3906, which represents teaching employees at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, confirmed to QMI Agency on Sunday that the local recently voted to give $10,000.

Wayne Dealy, chair of the CUPE union representing education workers at the University of Toronto, told QMI Agency that his local gave $20,000.

It'sa start...a small one, but a start nonetheless and if it gets the dippers and liebrals howling, it must be the right thing to do.

Immigration changes are long overdue

...beginning in June, Ottawa will no longer foot the bill for prescription drugs, dental care, eye exams and glasses or "mobility devices" such as canes, walkers or prosthetics for citizens of other countries who are in Canada awaiting a refugee hearing.

Kenney's reasoning? "We do not want to ask Canadians to pay for benefits for ... refugee claimants that are more generous than what they are entitled to themselves" through their provincial health plans.

He added the move is also aimed at "taking away an incentive from people who may be considering filing an unfounded refugee claim."

"The sorry lessons of green-power subsidies"

"The lessons of the green-power debacle are clear. For governments, the message is that forcing consumers and taxpayers to subsidize any business almost always leads to economic damage and political unpopularity. For investors, the lesson is that companies living on government subsidies may die when the handouts stop."

"A recent study, co-authored by Fraser Institute energy economist Gerry Angevine, found that Ontario residents will pay an average of $285-million more for electricity each year for the next 20 years as a result of subsidies to renewable energy companies.

By the end of 2013, Ontario household power rates will be the second-highest in North America (after PEI), and they will continue to accelerate while they level off in most other jurisdictions. Even more alarming for Ontario’s economic competitiveness, businesses and industrial customers will be hit by almost $12-billion in additional costs over the same period."

"Not so fast: Baird calls off sale of valuable pieces of art"

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/not-so-fast-baird-calls-off-sale-of-valuable-pieces-of-art/article2417609/

maz2:

Valuable pieces of art? Valuable to whom?

What passes for art and literature in French Canada is, almost without exception, derivative garbage. Even their religious folk art is modelled on the worst trash of the provincial churches of Catholic Europe.

In this case, not long after American "modern" artists threw paint at a canvas to cover up the fact that they had little real talent for art, they were ripped off by French Canadians with even less talent than they. The fact that some philistine of a speculator (or a museum curator who ought to know better) is prepared now to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars of other people's money on these things just tells you that money won't buy taste.

I have a better idea. If surplus embassy "art" can't be sold or given away, maybe a nice bonfire to drive away the last of the winter cold is in order.

Q: Is Minister Baird speaking through his teeth?

"Feds to cooperate with SNC-Lavalin probe"

"The federal government said on Monday it will cooperate fully with investigations into alleged wrongdoing at engineering firm SNC-Lavalin and provide consular assistance to a former executive under arrest in Switzerland.

“There are very serious allegations being made against this company, there are very serious investigations,” said Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird in Parliament.

“The government will do everything it can to support investigations and to be as helpful as we possibly can. Anyone who breaks the law should bear the full force of the law ... whether it be in Canada or abroad,” he said.

SNC-Lavalin said in March that it had uncovered payments of $56 million US made at the request of former executive Riadh Ben Aissa to “agents” on projects that did not exist. The company is also being investigated by Canadian police over bribery allegations regarding a bridge project in Bangladesh."

Elizabeth Warren is obviously a redistributionist when it comes to DNA, too. She's been claiming to be the world's blondest Indian; unless she hasn't; except she has, only it was "family lore". Helped the old commie get hired at Harvard Law, though, where, according to Scott Brown's spokesman, she was touted as their "their first minority hire".

"LDK Solar Cuts 5,554 Workers Amid Clean-Energy Shakeout"

"LDK Solar Co. (LDK), the world’s second- largest maker of wafers, cut 5,554 workers this year after plunging prices cut margins to record lows amid a shakeout that’s claimed thousands of renewable-energy jobs.

LDK, which reported the lowest margins among its publicly traded peers, has cut its staff about 22 percent to 19,195 workers since the end of 2011, Chief Operations Officer Xingxue Tong said on a conference call today. The Chinese maker of polysilicon, wafers and solar panels has pared a third of its workforce since July, when it peaked at more than 28,000, in reaction to the “highly competitive” solar market.

Solar manufacturers from China to the U.S., such as First Solar Inc. (FSLR), are under pressure after oversupply in all parts of the supply chain depressed prices. Since September, the spot price of polysilicon has fallen by a third, wafers are 35 percent lower and silicon-based solar panels are 25 percent cheaper, Bloomberg New Energy Finance data shows."

"Renewable-Energy Firings

Other renewable-energy companies are eliminating employees. First Solar, the biggest maker of thin-film solar panels, announced April 17 plans to cut about 30 percent of its workforce, or 2,000 jobs. The Tempe, Arizona-based company is closing a factory in Germany and will idle production lines in Malaysia.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (VWS), the largest turbine maker, is firing about about 10 percent of its staff, or 2,335 employees. The Aarhus, Denmark-based company may announce further cuts this year if U.S. lawmakers don’t extend incentives that are set to expire Dec. 31."

http://times247.com/articles/breitbart-s-coroner-dead-from-suspected-poisoning

Medical examiners in Los Angeles are investigating the possible poisoning death of one of their own officials who may have worked on the case of Andrew Breitbart, the conservative firebrand who died March 1, the same day Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced probable cause for forgery in President Obama’s birth certificate.

Michael Cormier, a respected forensic technician for the Los Angeles County Coroner died under suspicious circumstances at his North Hollywood home April 20, the same day Breitbart’s cause of death was finally made public.

“There are mysterious circumstances surrounding his death,” said Elizabeth Espinosa, a news reporter for KTLA-TV. “We’re told detectives are looking into the possibility that he was poisoned by arsenic.”

Nobody go full conspiracy nut on the Breitbart coroner thing. Conspiracy nuts always look crazy.
