You would have to be quite naive to beleive that a presidential assassination plot is (was) carried out by a lone nut. On the outside, it always looks good though! And once the lone nut dies, so does the evidence.

BELLEVILLE, ON - Suncor Energy has been fined $500,000 after pleading guilty to fixing the price of gasoline in this eastern Ontario community in Nov. 2007.

The Competition Bureau of Canada announced the fine and conviction Friday in a press release.

The plea by Suncor Energy Products Inc., also known as Sunoco, was entered Friday in Ontario Superior Court.

It followed a similar conviction, March 20, of Pioneer Energy LP, Canadian Tire Corp., and Mr. Gas. Those companies pleaded guilty to fixing gas prices from May to November 2007 in Kingston and Brockville. They were fined a total of $2 million.

Fascist or Communist the result is identical for the people ruled by either party. The idea that the two systems were on opposite ends of the political spectrum was invented during WW2 to justify our alliance with Russia.

I can see Obama comparing himself to Lincoln. Lincoln ignored State rights, the seccesion was perfectly legal under the constitution.

The war had less to do with slavery than it did with commerce. The North did not want the South selling its products to England and imposed trade embargoes on the South importing machinery from outside the US. They were treating the South much the same way as England treated the early colonies only worse.

Dave, from what they tell me Lincoln himself regarded secession as legal, and the war was not the result of secession, but of the southern states - specifically South Carolina - refusing to acknowledge or offer compensation for U.S. property in the state. It was the seizure of Fort Sumter by force, and not secession, that provoked the war.

Or so they say. Never studied it myself.
