On Wednesday, April 10, 1912 the Titanic set sail on her maiden voyage. We all know how that ended - with James Cameron & Co. making out like thieves. So this evening we will forgo Celine Dion in favour of this short video of Titanic footage and survivors interviews.

I received an email from Lib. Senator Grant Mitchell thanking me for 'supporting' the Suzuki on line petition.
Did anyone else?
I wrote back clarifying my opinion and intentions.

Ebay Canada is allowing you to donate to The Suzuki Foundation when you check-out after buying an item.
Unfortunately you can't enter a negative sum!
What's with these corporations and their kowtowing to eco-fraudsters like The Suziki Foundation?
What happened to good ol' corporate greed?
Every Canadian deserves a seal beater. It's about National pride. At least we have a reason for it. At least the cod appreciate us.

Recently Elections Alberta went after the Alberta Medical Association because they placed newspaper ads during the election campaign, advocating for patients. EA threatened the AMA with five-figure fines. The thing is, the ads didn't support or deride any political party.
So I wonder how much Elections Alberta is going to love today's newspaper ad from the Pharmacists, which includes gems like "The government broke their promise. Do you think another Conservative government will be any different?" Ouch.

Yes bluetech I got the same even though I made it abundantly clear that I was against!
Obama's having another change of heart...now he wants to keep it around.

"The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im) is a little-known institution that has become a hot topic in Washington as Congress debates whether to extend its authorization and increase its lending capability. The bank is also a hotbed of crony capitalism—run by political donors for the benefit of political donors."
"..Recipients include a host of politically connected green-energy companies—by law, 10 percent of Ex-Im financing must support renewable energy—and large corporations such as General Electric and Boeing. The Chicago-based airline manufacturer, which is ranked 36th on the 2011 Fortune 500 list, received more than 40 percent of total Ex-Im financing in fiscal year 2010."
Always nice to have such a handy bank.
Last week PhysicsWorld.com had this informative article on the multiple reasons which contributed to the disaster.

I still say the Hollywood people should have waited a little longer after the Tony-winning Broadway musical before releasing their version of Titanic.
Whaddaya mean, what Broadway musical?
My point exactly.

Kudos to Bob Owens for admitting he was an idiot to trust MSM reporting.
Ezra Levant and Colby Cosh have the smarts and dogged determination to be dynamite private eyes! :)
Colby Cosh:
"I don’t think it would be right to ascribe any wider significance to the incident, whatever the real background. But I’m not sure Lukaszuk agrees. He has emphasized the presence of a Wildrose lawn sign on the premises of his assailant, and he suggested to the Journal that his trouble might have arisen because “the campaign has been a little bit different…much more emotional. Some people have been scared into believing things that are not happening.” Which, come to think of it, actually seems like an odd thing for Lukaszuk to say if he was threatened with a firearm two elections ago.

Toronto and Ottawa would benefit from drug injection sites:study.
There's a catchy tourism slogan in there somewhere.
Thanks for that link Chutz, great investigative instincts on the part of Ezra and Coldy. Very well laid out article indeed.

BREAKING: Zimmerman to be charged this afternoon.
Norks fueling up their ballistic missile... oops...
their satellite launching rocket. Blast off suspected tomorrow.
James@2.34
If so, it couldn't happen to a better person (contrary to popular opinion at SDA).
If Zimmerman survives and is found not guilty you'll eat your words gellen? All anyone here is asking for is for the rush to judgement to stop. Even the president chimed in! Completely ludicrous. We did get a new racial term out of all this though : white hispanic.
"The Oval", Episode 1:

james@4.33
You're totally wrong.
The rush to judgment was on this site and some others that because the victim was black he somehow deserved it because he had to be guilty of something.
It should never have been an issue from the very beginning.
The shooter had set this all up by following his victim when he was told NOT TO.
He had already called 911 and the police were on their way. It was time for him to go home, as he was told.
It was turned into a racist issue, when it shouldn't have been before THE FACTS were known.
How can Zimmermann get a fair trial now?
And, if he is proven guilty and Trayvon was innocent, will anyone believe the verdict after all this hoopla?
Glenn @ 1:15 p.m.:
From the Globe article on drug injection sites: "The sites would be worth the investment, the authors said, if they only reduced infection rates and didn’t prevent overdose deaths."
There are lots of ways governments can save money. Delisting shooting galleries and treatment of drug use-related infections from medicare is one of them.
