Additional economic commentary here, but the chart I think speaks for itself in that unlike GDP or whatever else the media wants to use to tell you your feelings about the economy are wrong, this really speaks to the pulse of the economy.

Sure makes one wonder why this chart is not a centerpiece of Barack Obama's and the Democrats campaign startegy; Cheers;

Oh,they'll use it,MikeSr. Just that their cut-off point will be 2008! heh

This chart should be placed on every bulletin board in every School, Hospital, and Government office in the Province of B.C.. When one sees a parking lot of Lexus and Beamers one has to wonder how they can have the nerve to post the TV adds we are seeing.
Maybe it's just old fashioned stupidity.

Oh oh! Time to bail out of the market (it had a 1% loss today).

And homeless shelter. The employees all drive Audis and Volvos at the one near me though.

Classic American recessions usually have quickly implemented large scale dehiring, followed by fast changes in business strategies,
followed by massive rehiring within one year. Mr "0" (zero) has taken things to the opposite extreme with massive welfare programs
to keep the unemployed unemployed. This is a common European strategy to create a massive unemployed dependent underclass
at the beck and call of their socialist masters. The excuse in this case is the jobs have permanently disappeared never to return (i e
the unions don't want large numbers of people out looking for work putting wage pressure on their bailiwicks).
