As I commented elsewhere yesterday, the mere mention of cutting government spending sends these people into a foaming rage. They get all bent out of shape and then start spewing propaganda.
Its such total BS that Barry is trying to "cut" the deficit that I can't believe they had the gall to print that cartoon. It needs another frame picturing Barry lobbing a Molotov into the Treasury.
I don't think I saw a Ramirez cartoon—all fantastic anti-Obama and his thugs all the time—beautifully drafted and very clever. By comparison (and even not), this cartoon is rank amateur, and lying propaganda,.
Of course, the Pulitzer is the prize awarded to the NYT’s Walter Duranty, whose lies about Soviet Russia and Stalin’s purges have been allowed to stand: his ill-gotten gain has never been rescinded. What a stain on humanity the progressives are.
We need to understand that the Pulitzer Prize, like so many other such awards, are given by one group of partisans to their own tribe. Rather than complaining that conservative writers and cartoonists are never considered for such prizes, we should be enhancing and broadening interest and support for prizes that really do recognize excellent writing, cartooning, analysis, etc.
Don't forget the awards the Pulitzer committee handed out to the Edmonton Journal and the rest of Alberta's eastern-controlled media in the Thirties for libelling Social Credit, the only genuine opposition the communist movement faced at the time. The Journal's been eating out on that Pulitzer ever since.
The boasting's gotten worse lately, now that Alberta again runs the risk of government by people who take the side of Albertans and not the same pack of bloodsuckers who'd have cheerfully starved Albertans to death in the Thirties the way Stalin starved their Ukrainian cousins.
One can only hope a Wildrose government will find a way of convincing Alberta's media that it no longer makes good business sense to recycle press releases from the enemies of the Queen by the Grace of God of Alberta. That's what's keeping the Journal up at night. The more they invoke the alleged horror that was Social Credit, the more I cheer Wildrose on.
Amazing! Since when does the Whitehouse issue cartoons along with scraped press releases? There is so much partisan inversion in that cartoon message I'm staggered at the bold contempt for reality. Pravda used to run a lot of this type of surreal political messaging in the cold war era.
The searing political cartooning used to be the cutting edge of non partisan populist cynicism with the Washington establishment. It seems it’s now coopted by the administration's press secretary office.
Tsk tsk. No Pulitzers for the Canadian press this year. Even Agence Presse-France got one. Try harder, lads.
I have an idea. Maybe if they put their backs into stopping Danielle the committee can give the Edmonton Journal another of those nice bronze plaques. What do you think, boys and girls?
From Hah Bumbug in the comments:
"The same cartoon would make more sense if the flames were labeled "progressive agenda" and the fire engine were labeled "more spending."
This guy/gal nails it. Then the cartoon would actually represent the TRUTH and deserve a prize. Oh wait. This is the Pukestir Prize. No truth/reality required.
The Obama-Nation(tm) should be pictured atop the Keystone XL pipeline opening a valve pouring high grade jet fuel from a Texas refinery into the deficit fire!!
Now that would correspond with reality and provide much needed comic relief...
The problem with Obambi's rhetoric of 'hope and change' is that in reality you get TSA 'grope' and taxpayer 'mange'.
Much success in November as the 'inflammation and conflagration' should be a roaring pyre.
Hey it is the bi-centennial, and a little symbolism goes a long long way...burning down the White House ambitions since 1812.
Why would anybody on the political right even acknowledge the pulitzers? If pleasing your enemies doesn't turn them into friends, does buying tickets for their award show?
P.S. If you've not seen the beautifully drafted and even more beautifully—and appropriately—vicious and clever Obama cartoons by RAMIREZ, do yourself a favour and Google him. His cartoons deserve the Pulitzer many times over.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced

In all that time they

Notice in the 11/20 cartoon all the kids in the classroom are assigned future jobs except for the black kid? He's left unemployed.

Barry should be carrying a flamethrower.
Pathetic, grovelling hacks. God, couldn't they even find any half way funny Dear Leader propaganda? Something well-drawn? Ugh. Gag. Retch.
If I had a Pulitzer I'd burn it.
Roseberry's right, of course. They are what they are. It's still sick making, though.
As always, the Pullitzer prize is awarded for fiction.
Pravda?? That's pronounced Deja Vu in French

No Pulitzer was given out for fiction this year, I can't believe they overlooked the collection of Obama's speeches from his inauguration to today.
And I should have won an award for sarcasm.
Judging from his biography, Pulitzer is not resting in peace-he's been too busy rolling over in his grave for at least the last 50 years.

When the political cartoonist die. You know your culture ain't worth spit.
Sophomoric crap. A 14 year old could come up with better idea for a cartoon than that. The drawing is on about an 8th grade level, too.
And these journo clowns would sell their mothers for a Pulitizer.
Al the fish, WONDERFUL! I'll use that. Ain't it the truth?

A movie from the late seventies (or early eighties) that parodied Jekyll and Hyde also took a shot at the Pulitzers.
There it was called the Putzpuller prizes. I called them that ever since.
