It is mystifying how a political movement so mesmerized by "diversity" is so intolerant of opinions other than the correct ones, even to the point of legally censoring and punishing apostates for the mere act of speaking.

Not mystifying at all, really. Just spend a little time inside and observing that "political movement" and you will see why they do what they do pretty quick. You may not understand, but you will see the mystery revealed before your very eyes.

There's a reason everybody's conspicuously dropped this story: the "victim" was an ex-con with convictions for assault and burglary, and his own kid said to a teacher "that's my daddy's gun, he uses it to shoot bad guys and monsters" (emphasis added).

If the kid had drawn her father snorting white powder and said "That's my daddy's cocaine, he snorts it to feel good and fly like a unicorn", would you be terribly surprised if he ended up downtown?

Daniel Ream, there was no reason to believe that the child's drawing- whom no one has seen or has been duplicated- was actual fact. If he had indeed been so dangerous, why were his kids taken away? Why weren't they removed from the home beforehand?

To Mark Steyn: there is a reason why I will not call the left "progressive". I fail to see how censorship of an idea is progressive or good for society.

I think in communication with multiculture left see that very optomestic view and think if talk less differences make us happy and freindlyand like to freind with everybody in a way but this can be delusion and not in facts in all the time of missing of not know what other think in private

on other hand Right irritate people of multiculture and kick their bott of thier dislike and act more pesmestic with multiculture and not see them human except use their tax or work done period and not like to be freind with them
Sometimes it is better to do not say your opinion when you among all multicutlure and different group in public

I use that all the time as well. I'm a technical writer and create software user guides. Whenever I need a fictional user name, it's always Winston Smith. When you hear Steyn give the account of the 14 year old British schoolgirl arrested for asking to do her science project with a different group of students, because hers all spoke a foreign language, that's when the fundamental truth of that failed conservative policy really hits home.

This "war on women" meme is a pathetic and desperate effort to manufacture a campaign issue for Obama, since he can't actually run "on" anything. No one is limiting women's access to anything. Contraceptives are ubiquitous and inexpensive. Adult men and women are responsible for their own choices, there is no "right" to demand that someone else pick up their recreational tab.
