Obama was a 'senior lecturer' at the University of Chicago but his focus was the 14th Amendment that was enacted after the civil war to ensure that blacks were treated as citizens. His only interest in the constitution was on the one amendment that applied to his 'community organizer' duties.

Like his wife's $300,000annum job at the hospital (which was never filled after she left for Washington) his position at the University was the most likely the product of corruption.

I would not diminish the contributions of a lecturer to higher education, but to attach the word "scholar" to Obama in that role is ridiculous.

He taught a sliver of subject matter to the same cohort of students year after year. He was not a tenured professor. He has no peer-reviewed publications I'm aware of.

A lecturer might be the best Principles of Macroeconomics teacher in the galaxy, but it doesn't make him a master of macro theory nor does it make him qualified to render economic advice on the topic.

In fact, being a master of macro theory would likely make you a rather poor teacher of it. Greg Mankiw would seem to be the exception. But Greg teaches higher level economics as well as Econ 10, and he has published prodigiously.

The only time I've heard Obama speak about the Constitution is on the subject of positive vs. negative rights. The thesis is based on the idea that the Constitution empowers government to help people wherever it chooses rather than being only empowered to do the things specifically granted to it. This demonstrates the un-American understanding of the constitution of its chief enforcer.

The POINT is not that he was or was not a lecturer on the subject. The POINT that needs to be made and understood is that he obviously - CLEARLY - does NOT BELIEVE the Constitution or Bill of Rights in the US are valid documents governing the acts and rulings of the government.

I do agree with all that you said but Mr. Romney has too many meek and mild issues to ever take on evil. This fella is a 'hail fellow well met' Ken Doll type Frat boy and he has never had to fight.
