Calgary zoo used to have polar bears and now it doesn't. Maybe they should ask 'why dat' before they go polar-bear shopping. enormous meat-eating predators are high-maintenance.

You have to realize that Americans are particularly stupid when it comes to wildlife. Just like the Disney clips from the 1950s, I was driving through Yellowstone and there was a bear at the side of the road. There was half an hour of gridlock as everyone abandoned their car in the middle of the road to have a closer look.

I consider it my public responsibility to shoot at any bear trespassing on my property. They need to have a healthy respect for humans.

What ? Obviously you ain't watched Swamp People, Mudcats, Deadliest Catch or Roland Martin, hell, we must have over 50 channels on DirecTV dedicated to nothing but wildlife, fishing and hunting. Unlike Canada, (with all due respect to my Canadian Comrades) I can hunt and fish dayyam near all year, and I don't have to drill holes in 6 foot of ice to do it.

Polar bears don't do very well in zoos. Most die or go nuts. They are a ranging animal used to putting in many miles a day hunting. The warmth of the zoos don't help them either = but hey, if it provides a placebo for just one deluded urban progressive's misplaced sentimentality , it was worth it.

Why do the enviro-loonies assume the polar bears will starve if the sea ice disappears?

The seals aren't fish,they live and mate on land,so since the seal population has exploded and estimates are at 5 million of the cute little furry creatures,there should be plenty of food for polar bears.

The Inuit are in more danger of extinction with the changes to their lifestyle brought on by White oppression,maybe the do-gooders should ship a few Inuit to Cleveland or San Francisco.

Scar- All I can say is, thank you. Bears, coyotes, cougars are losing their fear of humans. It only takes a generation for predators to change their habits. Without constant preditation from humans, they start to see us as potential prey. I shoot them whenever, and wherever I can get away with it. Same goes for stray dogs.
