Fuel cells don't do combustion by means of an open flame, or a confined flame, for that matter, but they still combine a fuel with oxygen, extract energy from the process, and release oxidation products, namely water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Fuel cells burning hydrogen are a fairly mature, if expensive technology. Fuel cells that use natural gas (methane) have been problematic, so far, one problem being that minute quantities of impurities in the gas stream can poison the catalytic surfaces of the cells.

As already pointed out, there is no difference between the by-products of natural gas combustion and the by-products of a natural gas fuel cell. These people are all truly idiots. Fuel cells are dead technology except for limited specialized uses.

Gore's history of propositioning young women should have gotten him kicked off the board. They need to get rid of him before he poisons the brand.

Fuel cells emit nothing but green house gases. Water vapor which is the main by-product is the largest green house gas at over 80% whereas co2 is less than .oo4 %.
