My mom once told me that in about 1967 while riding the subway in Toronto with my then 4 year old brother a lady of either African or Jamacian descent sat down across from them. This apperantly being the first black lady my brother had seen commented to my mom “Look mommy, a chocolate lady!” The other lady just laughed at the comment. I think if that were to happen today both my mom and brother would have a visit from the PC police and re-educated.

The pride and dedication in teaching certainly shows. If they can save even one child from becoming normal then they done their duty.
I dated a girl in Surrey, BC who had to deal with a similar issue with her then 8 year old son. His class was broken into groups to work on something, and he was upset because he was partnered up with three or four east Indians. He began pouting, and asked the teacher if he could have white partners, because he didn’t like being with the brown kids.
Naturally, this eight year old must have been a racist, (and nothing mobilizes educational boffins like a cry of racism) thus there were discussions with teachers and councilors and even the principal –and nobody ever thought to ask the kid why he said what he did.
He’s eight remember. He told me he didn’t want to work with the ‘brown kids’ because whenever they worked in groups they wouldn’t speak English, and so he couldn’t understand them.
When the boy’s mother brought this up with the teacher in question, she was told that the other kids speaking Punjabi in class (and thus excluding her son) wasn’t the issue.
Eventually this bit of ridiculousness was resolved, but I think about it whenever I see the pronouncements from BC Teachers telling me what a great job they do and how they’re underpaid. Frankly, I think they’re a herd in desperate need of culling…and I mean that metaphorically… lord knows I don’t need another lecture on sensitivity from my educational betters.
Unfortunately the poor “disaffected youth” was from Kenya, but that doesn’t excuse the little white racist sh*t from asking the same stupid questions the American Republican knuckle draggers ask every day.
The little brown skinned darling will now be forced into a life of welfare, drugs, and flash mobs all because this friggen racist Nazi put him there.
Actually my mother informed me the first time my brother saw a black person he looked at his hands and then the person in front of him and said “What colour are people”? Me on the other hand 2 years younger yelled out “that woman is black” That was 40 + years ago, funny
Everyone just assumes that we have no free speech when it comes to racial issues. There is more to it than just the colour of the skin there is also culture. Sometimes those cultures clash. We are now teaching kids that they can not decide which cultural values they agree with and which they do not. People in a free society should not be forced to associate with people they do not enjoy being with. That is not necessarily racist it may just be personal preference. We must all submit to the collective and lose our own identities in the process.
The State wouldn’t be the face-stamping jackboot State if they let children get away with their innocence, would they?
Growing up in an overwhelmingly white community, I had no appreciation of race nor the ability to be racist. There were a few native/metis kids around but it was only as an adult that I even recognized the fact. We always knew a few black people so there was never any big shock although all those blue eyes staring at them was probably un-nerving. I couldn’t believe that racism was a problem in society as I can’t recall one example as a kid.

For years I’ve considered this madness to be a result of politically correct (AKA cultural Marxism) tyranny through race politics. George Jonas’ recent article made me see there is another dimension to this type of dystopian obsessing – a pseudo-religious fanaticism that is inherent in radical post modern secularism.
An inculpable inter-personal incident such as we see here, is blown all out of proportion because PC zealots think in terms of mystic or arcane “symbolism” and “signs” – very much like the supersticious clergy of the western religions in the pre-reform dark ages. Such symbolic incidents were a test of their faith, and to reaffirm their faith in the true religious dogmas (political correctness) the offender must be declared a blasphemer – a symbolic defiler of an intolerant belief system – even if it is the innocent musing of a 7 year old child.
What you see this child exposed to is the modern secular PC version of a blasphemy trial. This child has blasphemed the sacred dogmas of politically correct secularism. As in antiquity the witch hunters of today’s rebid secularism are a sick lot of bastards who see the devil behind every rock and twig.

My son is seven, he’s Chinese and we’re not. Do the math 🙂 Anyway, we are teaching what it means to be Chinese and to be proud of who he is. Of course it’s difficult for him to understand a lot of this but he is beginning to ask questions. He especially likes to ask if people he sees are Chinese, too. So one day we were at Coquitlam Centre heading to the T&T market, an Asian grocery store. Coquitlam, especially the Westwood Plateau, is heavily Chinese, so heading to the T&T needless to say I was in the minority. Anyway, walking through the crowd of Asian faces my son says to me, “You know Dad, sometimes I feel like I’m the only one…” Hah!

When my nephew was younger his family would take trips to Florida – when he was about 4 or 5 he asked where ‘black people’ came from (because he finally noticed the number of black people). My brother explained that black people came from Africa and after thinking for a while, my nephew responded with “What’s Africa?” This lead to a discussion about Africa being on the other side of the ocean and it where lions and giraffes and chimps came from. With the only thing he could relate this to was the safari/amusement parks they had gone to the day before – my nephew asked “do they have rides in Africa?” My brother responded (in part to end the discussion) “Yes, Africa is one big amusement park!” That kept my nephew happy for a couple of years.
Little kids have a remarkable way of cutting through the nonsense of adults and getting to the important stuff – that being the availability of rides!!1
