  1. Gormley made an outrageous accusation on his radio show today that I have challenged him to a debate with me on his show.
This was in reference to Graham James being convicted of sexual abuse on Theoren Fleury and previously on Sheldon Kennedy. Gormely “intimated” on his radio program that people in Swift Current actually knew that James was abusing Kennedy but did nothing to stop it because he was a “winning coach and a great guy”.
I live in Swift Current and know both James and Sheldon Kennedy. Gormley’s statement is nothing but a cheap shot that he cannot prove because he offers absolutely no corroberative evidence. It is a cheap shot he cannot back up.
I have challenged Gormely to debate me live on his program regarding this outrageous accusation and I bet he will not accept the challenge because he knows he stands on quicksand with this one.
    I guess we’ll see.

  2. An interesting picture on the BBC website. Take a look at the 13th picture of the storm in Scotland. Nothing like reliable wind power!

  3. Menzoid’s rant on Sun TV tonight about too-tight pantaloons reminded me of this old joke:
Newfie on the beach just can’t seem to make it with any of the girls, so he goes over to the lifeguard tower to see if the lifeguard has any advice for him.
“It’s obvious dude,” says the lifeguard, “you’re wearing baggy old swim trunks that make you look like an old man, they’re years outta style. Go get yourself a pair of these spandex Speedos — about two sizes too small — and drop a fist-sized potato down inside ’em. You’ll have all the chicks you want!”
The following weekend, Newfie hits the beach in his tight Speedos with the fist-sized potato and… for cryin’ out loud! — it’s worse than before! Everyone on the beach acts disgusted as he walks by, covering their faces, turning away, laughing, looking sick! So Newfie goes back to the lifeguard again and asks him: “What’s wrong now?”
“Fer Chrissake!” says the lifeguard, “You gotta put the potato in the FRONT, you moron!”

An interesting bit of testimony that should never, ever be repeated.
    From the Kingston trial;
” Mojab told the courtroom that in some cultures, honour is valued above human life.
This belief is seen predominantly in the Middle East, Mojab said.
When family honour is threatened, it is acceptable and expected that a male family member could kill a relative.

Isn’t Israel in the middle east? Darn those evil jooooos.

  8. The France-German ‘save the Eurozone’ plan has four key provisions. One is:
[ any future bailouts would not require private investors to absorb part of the costs, as happened in the Greece case ]
    ‘not required to absorb’
    What does that mean?
That bond holders would not have to take a hair cut?
That,if a gov’t defaults (does not/can not make good on repayment), then the bond holder can seize assets?
Sure would be different terms than the GM bailout.

  9. A “white ribbon campaign” we all could support?
Sure, the commies’ll probably win any re-vote. However IMHO, the Reds just might be too preoccupied with re-nationalizing the economy to worry about foreign intrigues and machinations – thereby taking the bear off the international stage for awhile.

  10. House GOP readies new proposal for extension of payroll tax cut, which includes provision to move along construction of controversial Keystone oil pipeline, but Obama says he will reject any effort to tie pipeline construction to tax extension.

School bus drivers ordered to remove festive decorations 460
Elliot Ferguson, QMI AgencyKINGSTON, Ont. — All Diane Pope and Brigette Klepy want for Christmas is to be allowed to decorate the school buses they drive.
But an e-mail from Tri-Board Student Transportation Services has told them they’re not allowed.
Klepy, who has been a bus driver for 15 years, said the children on her route love the decorations.
“These kids can’t wait to get on the bus and see what I’ve done, to see what hat I’m wearing,” Klepy said.
In the e-mail to Klepy’s employer, Stover Bus Line, Brenda Chalk, a transportation supervisor with Tri-Board, the transportation agency contracted to provide services for local school boards, said using a bus with Christmas decorations will not be allowed.

Obama lights the menorah to celebrate Hannukah.
Well, guess what? Hannukah doesn’t start for two more weeks and unlike Christmas trees, should not be lit before sundown denoting the first day of Hannukah.
Furthermore, he lit all the lights at once. Each light represents one day of the Festival and they should be lit individually on that day.
This is a slap in the face of the Jewish religion.
    No brains-No class.

  16. Vote for at 9:14,

  17. I posted this elsewhere, but I think I posted too late to catch people. The Ottawa Citizen editorial is a particularly good analysis of the Wheat Board situation:
    ——-
The Ottawa Citizen carried an interesting editorial on the Wheat Board issue, “Parliament Can Change Law.” http://www.ottawacitizen.com/opinion/Parliament+change/5832021/story.html
Of course their reading of the situation is diametrically opposed to Lawrence Martin’s: http://www.ipolitics.ca/2011/12/09/lawrence-martin-banana-republic-tactics-topple-wheat-board/
Like so many issues, it has become a symbol — for the left it is a symbol of the high-handedness of the Harper government. I am pretty sure most of the critics (Martin included) do not know much about wheat farming or have any personal stake in how this plays out. What I find most puzzling is that those calling for the “democracy” if a plebecite think it is perfectly democratic for farmers to vote on how others must sell their wheat — whether it suits them or not. Something amiss here.

  19. Sometimes I go to the local occupy website to get an idea of what these deep thinkers are up to (http://occupyvictoria.ca/). My prayers have been answered and the occupests plan on “occupying” BC Ferries on December 12th. This will be an epic thing to watch. There is going to be ZERO tolerance from anyone for this one folks. Shutting down BC ferries is like blockading the only road into town and during the christmas season it’s even worse.
