Any wonder why these backward cesspools remain… well, …backward cesspools?
A couple hundred hand-wringing guys standing around.
Shucks, three or four of us usta could easily douse a campfire. Course there mighta been beer involved…

  2. Forget the small-timers, says Sultan Knish, it’s time to tax the trillionaires:

“Forget Warren Buffett and his secretary and the rest of the small timers, let’s look at where the real money is going– to the trillionaires. Who are the trillionaires? They’re the people who spent and spent until we ended up with a 15 trillion dollar deficit. Now it’s time to make them pay their fair share.

“Politicians, public sector unions, crony capitalists and the rest of the rotten body politic that left us with a debt so big that it can’t be repaid without selling an entire state. It’s time to make the trillionaires pay….Since the trillionaires in the government have lots of money– let’s make this an extremely progressive tax. And let’s do Sweden one better by making this a 90 percent tax.

“Yes Barry, I know it’s hard, but it’s only fair– those who spend more should also have to pay more. It’s not class warfare, it’s simple math. And the simple math says that the only way to fix budget failures is by taking the money out of the budget. Sure we could hang around waiting for politicians to do the right thing, or we could tax their spending…”

    The whole thing here.

It’s coming here, little by little every day. One day we will all enjoy the “enrichment” the Liberals multiculturalism brings.

  4. I especially like the way everyone just stands around, doing nothing. Checked some of the other videos of Kenya, and it seems they all do it, all the time.
Checking Google News we see that Larry Flint is offering $1 million for anyone who can find some dirt on Republican candidate Perry. And in B.C. there seems to be something similar going on with the B.C. Conservative party president who happens to be a Baptist Pastor (last name, Elley). Local blogger Alex Tsakumis seems wont to totally destroy the man and his party. Seems he is a social conservative and Alex is a fiscal millionaire.

  5. I used to think assault should be illegal. Now I think it should be mandatory in certain situations.
Yep, ya’ gotta love those holier-than-thou, tolerant west coast liberal-types.

  6. EBD – If I get this correctly, someone is telling the Palin daughter that her mom is the devil and belongs in Hell? He is saying this because he is a homosexual? I don’t think Palin has anything particular against homosexuals does she? I mean, she doesn’t approve of the lifestyle probably, but I suspect this guy is losing whatever poise he has.
Actually, I think she’s pretty ballsy to stand up for her mom that way. Am I way off here?

  7. Larben (12:37): I assume you can’t see the video? Yes, the guy shouted “Your mother’s a wh***!” and “Your mother’s the ***ing devil!” and “You’re white trash from Wasila. F*** you you f***ing b***h” — stuff like that. She was just out trying to have fun with her friends.
Men who think they’ll never get punched in the face tend to behave differently, I’ve noticed.
Glad I wasn’t there. I would have been charged with assault.

  8. And then some, Ken.
Here’s an interesting little article titled “Language: What foreign words are difficult to translate into English?”
There’s the Scottish word “Tartle”, which means “the act of hesitating while introducing someone because you’ve forgotten their name.” And (from the comments), the German word “Kummerspeck” (‘grief bacon’): “the weight gained from emotion-related overeating.” From the Finnish, Myötähäpeä: “feeling shame on behalf of someone else, like when someone embarrasses himself and doesn’t realize it and you have to watch this taking place.”
    h/t.

  9. EBD, I’ve long been of the opinion that Western society would benefit from a return to the Code Duello.
A little trip out to the parking lot would have been in that boy’s future down here in Hamilton. Guys would be lined up to have a turn.

  10. UARS was a $750 million mission deployed from the shuttle Discovery in 1991 to study the Earth’s atmosphere and its interactions with the sun. It measure important ozone depletion related to climate change. According to NASA reading from UARS gave evidence that Chorine in the atmosphere is at the root of the polar ozone hole.

  11. Re EBD’s tip regarding “Language: What foreign words are difficult to translate into English?” brings back painful memories. I am still embarrassed when I recall that about 40years ago I experienced “Tartle” when introducing a new assistant to fellow office workers with whom I had worked for about 5 years. I could not remember the names of half of them.
I think conservative libertarians many times experience Waldeinsamkeit (German)- The feeling of being alone in a forest (of Marxism).
A word that many of my relatives experienced was ‘Toska’ Russian – Vladmir Nabokov describes it best: “No single word in English renders all the shades of toska…”

    Carbon (CO2) capture is dead.
“Every year that passes makes it more difficult,” Jones said. “With current policies, CCS will have a hard time [being] deployed … There is less of a global push for climate action, and tighter government finances.”
“Projects to capture and bury a major chunk of that are behind schedule and finding it harder to secure funds.”

“Carbon capture progress has lost momentum, says energy agency”
“Meeting of senior ministers in Beijing hears that CCS is being left behind due to financial crisis and weakening political will”
“The financial crisis and fading government support for climate action have seriously eroded global plans to capture and store carbon, the International Energy Agency (IEA) warned on Thursday.
Sequestration – the depositing of greenhouse gases underground rather than into the atmosphere – was supposed to account for a fifth of the world’s emissions reductions under the agency’s roadmap for keeping global temperature rise within 2C (4F) by the end of the century.”

BUSTED: Liberals Admit Racism Charges Against Tea Parties A Tactic, Not A Truth
Washington, D.C. – Members of the Project 21 black leadership group are condemning the left’s false use of the accusation “racist” as a political tactic, saying they recognize the strategy from the teaching of left-wing organizer Saul Alinsky.
Former U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Chairman Mary Frances Berry, a long-time prominent liberal activist, has admitted in an interview with Politico that the left is trying to smear the tea party movement as “racist” for strategic reasons, not out of genuine concern that the movement is itself racist.
Berry called the tactic an “effective strategy” and chose not to denounce it.
“As an active participant in the tea party movement, I know the movement’s motivation is about Obama’s policies and not his race,” said Deneen Borelli, a Project 21 full-time fellow who has spoken at many tea party rallies and is scheduled to speak at the “Uni-Tea” rally in Philadelphia on July 31.”Race card politics is the last-ditch effort to shift the debate away from President Obama’s harmful policies such as the government’s takeover of health care and his failure to create jobs — both of which are having an impact on his popularity. This diversion may also help Obama to try to jam through cap-and-trade legislation through Congress. It’s a grand distraction from policies and may unfortunately increase racial tensions.”
Berry, now the Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and History at the University of Pennsylvania, was asked, “will branding the tea party ‘racist’ work?”
    Berry replied:
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.
“This is exactly the kind of thing that has irked me all of my adult life, to put it mildly,” said Project 21 member R. Dozier Gray. “This willful and purposeful use of the race card for nothing more than political gain is toxic to race relations, and Mary Frances Berry must know that. But she evidently does not care. Based on her comment, political posturing takes primacy over whatever real issues regarding race that she might pretend are her calling cards. I have seen this all before. I find it shameful.”
Project 21 member Bob Parks added: “What’s most disturbing about this very public quote? Not only is Mary Frances Berry making this comment without fear of admonishment, and that progressives have apparently embraced and are employing these very shameful, race-baiting tactics — but Berry is likely teaching this ‘social thought’ hate to children.”
Left-wing organizer Saul Alinsky, whose tactics have been studied and followed by Barack Obama and his followers, taught his activists to “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” The Tea Party movement has unnerved the left and energized supporters of smaller government, causing the left to target it, as per Alinsky’s method, with bogus racism charges.
Project 21, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research, has been a leading voice of the African-American community since 1992.

This is infuriating. There are racists in every party, but there should be no place in the national discourse for the following from Politico and Mary Frances Berry:
    * Question: Will branding the tea party ‘racist’ work as a political strategy?
    * Answer: “Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.”
This response from Grover Norquist nailed it:
    * The tea party movement is shorthand for Americans who are not committed to one party or the other (independent or non-active in party politics) and have recently been politicized to oppose the tremendous wave of federal spending coming from Washington.
    * Because they are swing voters, they are doubly important in electoral politics.
    * In 2006 and 2008, independents voted Democrat, reacting negatively to the unending occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Now these same independents are trending strongly Republican as they react against the Reid/Pelosi spending.
    * Last year, the left was trying to prove that this was all organized by oil companies or Washington-based activist groups. It wasn’t. There is no “leader” of the movement, and yet thousands of local leaders have organized millions of Americans to go into the streets and into town hall meetings to oppose spending.
    * This latest effort by the left to call everyone who questions Democrat spending a racist just irritates voters already convinced Congress is ignoring their calls for less spending.

UC Berkeley College Republicans’ ‘diversity bake sale’ elicits cries of racism
ASUC Senate calls special meeting to discuss controversy

In a move that triggered immediate backlash from the UC Berkeley student community, the Berkeley College Republicans announced plans Thursday night to host an “Increase Diversity Bake Sale” in opposition to Affirmative Action-like legislation awaiting Gov. Jerry Brown’s signature.
The original post announcing the bake sale — which created a tiered structure for the pricing of baked goods based on race — incensed students across campus, who decried the event on Facebook, calling it “racist,” “stupid” and “pathetic,” among other things.
A special meeting of the ASUC Senate has been called for Sunday at 6 p.m. to discuss the bill and the surrounding controversy, ASUC Executive Vice President Chris Alabastro said Friday afternoon.
Negative responses to the event flooded the Facebook event page, which the organization soon changed to a less inflammatory post — a move Berkeley College Republican President Shawn Lewis said in a Facebook comment “in no way means to ‘cover up’ the previous description.”
“The pricing structure of the baked goods is meant to be satirical, while urging students to think more critically about the implications of this policy,” the modified event page reads.
Most students feel that their voices aren’t heard in the baked goods distribution process controversy. They also believe that our UCs and CSUs need to be more diverse. YOU have the OPPORTUNITY to increase DIVERSITY and student VOICES by buying some PASTRIES and helping redistribute wealth for SOCIAL JUSTICE through BAKED GOODS on Sproul Plaza (9/27/11).
Berkeley College Republicans will be SELLING BAKED GOODS from 10 AM – 2PM across from the Affirmative Action Phonebank on Upper Sproul, and just like the CA Senate Bills 185 and 387 the phonebank supports, we will be considering RACE, GENDER, ETHNICITY, NATIONAL/GEOGRAPHIC ORIGIN and other relevant factors to ensure the EQUITABLE distribution of BAKED GOODS to our DIVERSE! student body.To ensure the fairest distribution, and make sure that there are a DIVERSE population of RACES of students getting BCR’s delicious baked goods, the pricing structure will be as follows:
    White/Caucasian: $2.00
    Asian/Asian American: $1.50
    Latino/Hispanic: $1.00
    Black/ African American: $0.75
    Native American: $0.25
    $0.25 OFF FOR ALL WOMEN!
Hope to see you all there! If you don’t come, you’re a racist!
and even if the media was inclined to mention it…typical liebrals…refuse to let anyone else’s opinions be heard…by whatever measn necessary
Media ousted from town hall meeting on controversial bake sale
A Daily Californian reporter and two photographers were asked to leave a town hall meeting on Friday after a majority of the attendees voted in favor of removing all media in the room.
The “Emergency Town Hall” at the Rochdale student co-op was organized on Facebook just hours after the Berkeley College Republicans announced plans to hold an “Increase Diversity Bake Sale,” where the race of the consumer would determine the price of a baked good. The bake sale is intended to protest Affirmative Action-like legislation currently awaiting Gov. Jerry Brown’s signature.
Around 80 people showed up to the town hall and voted at the start of the meeting to kick out all media from the event. Student organizer Marco Amaral said that a statement would be released later to reflect a community response to the bake sale.
Controversy first arose following the creation of a Facebook event page for the bake sale, which set the price of baked goods for whites higher than those for other minority groups — including blacks, latinos and asians — and women. Almost immediately, student backlash exploded, with Facebook commenters calling the event “racist,” “pathetic” and “offensive.”
The emergency town hall was just one of many student reactions to the bake sale. A counter protest, “Conscious Cupcakes Giveaway” is planned for the same day as the bake sale and an emergency ASUC Senate meeting was called for Sunday at 6 p.m. to discuss the controversy.

  19. EBD – I got the video, but, with all the b/g noise I couldn’t make it all out, then there was the confusion about the cameras catching it all, does she always have a camera crew following her around? At her request, or is it a news outlet? I knew she had been on some kind of dance contest etc., in a kind of reality show, and didn’t know if this was all for real. I assume this will hit all the networks showing what she has to put up with. (not!) P.S. Try to have a little more patience with us luddites, would ya?
