A panel of seven judges with the court in France ruled that the people filing the lawsuits could not claim to be victims. The ruling’s timing coincided with the Muslim day of prayer.

Swiss voters approved a constitutional ban on minarets in 2009 that barred further construction of mosque towers.

The country’s four standing minarets, which were not affected by the ban, do not traditionally broadcast the call to prayer outside their own buildings.

The judges concluded that the people who filed the lawsuits, including several Swiss Muslim groups, failed to show how the ban had harmed their human rights.

There are so many points to fisk in the article, but these two are most telling.

First, multiculturalism led to the rot.

As for comments that "Canada must stop Muslim immigration", there is no possible hope for that, no politician sees the Muslims as anything more than a voting block to be pandered to.

Besides,with over 600,000 Muslims in the Country now,and with a high birth rate,they should become a real political force within a decade,and we can watch our political heroes succumb to their threats the same as in Sweden and France today.

It's discouraging to try to start a dialogue with politicians about the threat of Muslim extremism when they simply refuse to believe that there is any possibility of this occurring in Canada.

Politicians always meet with the leaders of any given community,and those persons are always the better educated and well spoken,or damned good actors able to hide their true feelings.

Thus the politicians know the Tarek Fatahs of the world,and they see that there is nothing dangerous about Tarek,and we must be crazy to even suggest it. Worse, we're "Islamophobes", and the Muslims are the victims.

We can only hope that our decadent North American style of living will seduce the young Muslims away from the extreme elements in their communities,and our civilizing influence will prevail,because if we're waiting for any action on the part of any politician,we wait in vain.

Aspects of Sharia law are being practiced across Australia.

Sheikh Moussaab Leghe, in Sydney's West, presides over hundreds of Sharia divorces each year, and adjudicates on financial disputes.

According to the Sheikh, “This is Islam - Islam is to live your life in a happy way, in justice, in equity. Everybody is taking his share, everybody is happy and satisfied.”

Sheikh Moussaab Leghe offers Muslims Sharia law from his base at the Islamic Welfare Centre at Lakemba, in Sydney's West.

"Well when you have women that are having their babies out of the marriage, some people they will say we need something to find a solution. And this is something,” said Sheikh Leghe.

Sheikh Leghe says he believes Australian law rules our land, though, like his predecessor, he does feel there is room for men to have multiple wives.

“Well the problem (is) with this thirteen per cent extra women in Australia.

“I don't go for (polygamy), but I call the Australian law to give the women rights to find a man, when you have (less men than women)."

According to News Limited columnist Miranda Devine, such ideas are "terribly disempowering of women, and very disruptive of our social fabric, for that reason."

"I think it's seditious. It undermines Australian law, and really, if we're going to have separate laws and separate societies, we can only expect to have more division and more lawlessness," said Vicky Janson.
Vicky Janson, and her husband Michael, live in the Melbourne suburb of Heidelberg West. They have joined a community group named The Q Society - aimed at stopping what they call the ‘Islamification of Australia’.

According to Vicky "it's the way we're meant to be treated. We are truly treated as second-class citizens. Under anything to do with Islamic law, women are not treated equally, non-Muslims are not treated equally."

For some, the issue that’s causing concern and division is whether or not Sharia law can co-exist with Australian law, so that we still have one law for all.

In Britain, Islamic courts have operated for nearly four years under the Arbitration Act, and their rulings are legally binding.

Under Sharia law, a woman's testimony is worth half a man’s; a daughter can only inherent half as much as a son; guardianship of children automatically goes to the father; and men can summarily divorce their wife, while a woman must fight for a divorce, even if her husband is abusive.

"We don't want it. We do not want Sharia law. It's a system that has a completely different idea of what is right and wrong, what is good and evil, and it just undermines our democratic rule of law. We don't want it," said Vicky.

KFC and Domino's have now pulled back or completely scrapped their halal menus, because of consumer backlash in Europe.

But in Australia, halal food has exploded onto the market. Up to 80 per cent of our supermarket shelves stock halal approved foods. Now fast food chains, takeaways, and restaurants are turning halal.

Co-owner Nadia Hasan says a halal menu ensures her restaurant stays busy.

"The only reason we're busy and we get customers is because we're halal. The meat needs to be slaughtered with a clean cut across the neck, and the meat needs to be drained so it's drained of all the blood straight away, and also we need to read God's name when we are killing the animal."

Nadia ensures there are no other animal products used in the cooking, no alcohol and no pork. So how does she do a ham and pineapple pizza? She uses 'facon'.

"They usually have the bacon rashers in them, which is basically smokey bacon. We have a smokey beef which is prepared exactly the same way as the way the bacon is prepared, and in all those sorts of dishes, you can't tell."

"I think if somebody is not going to be totally halal and it's only logical and good business sense to include some things on the menu that are halal certified."

Halal takeaways have spread into every popular style of food in the country. McDonalds has halal dedicated stores, so does KFC with no pork products. Nando's chicken burgers are considered halal, while Dominos has one halal pizza; a vegetarian. Even old favourites like Chinese, Thai and Italian have gone halal.

Bill Meuhlenberg from the Family Council of Victoria is concerned Australia is going Halal too quickly.

"Some have argued this is part of the direction where Australia is heading, where more and more Australians are being coerced to bow to Islamic values," Bill said.
"And there might be a bigger issue here of Sharia law and how much Islam concerns are being foisted upon a democratic free Australia."

Dietician Susie Burrell isn't surprised businesses are now going halal, it's big money.

"I think a lot of people don't know they are eating halal meat. It's not necessarily labelled clearly and because it doesn't change the taste or the way the actual meat cooks, there is no real apparent difference other than how the way it's been slaughtered," Susie said.

"There is no difference between the nutritional qualities of halal meat to any other meat."

Some consumers have voted against halal foods with their feet, boycotting some products, complaining to big companies. But it isn't stopping fast food outlets, takeaways and even multi-nationals turning halal.

Marketing expert Barry Urquhart says it is good marketing.

"This is simply a brand. It is simply like the Heart Foundation tick. In a sea of commodities and sameness it could be the point of difference that gets people talking, gets them considering, and attracts them to your fast food outlet rather than the one down the road," Barry said.

The things is, more so than any other country, when push finally comes to shove ( and it bloodily will..) you may find that of all people, it will be the Canadians who will react the most violently.

Canadians have a nature that includes an unending reserve of goodwill for those who deserve it and are certainly slow to anger; however, once pushed to the edge and with the realization that they have been lied to for so many years, with their way of life and culture under threat ( possibly after the first large scale terrorist attack on our soil) they will push back extremely hard.

The DNA of our warrior ancestors is still contained within our bodies and the very blood that courses through our veins. It will be a very dark day indeed when the Islamists find that out, very dark indeed.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — A man reportedly trying to show students how to make explosives was killed by a homemade bomb inside an Islamic boarding school in Indonesia, police said Tuesday.

School officials and students have prevented police from entering the building since Monday’s explosion, local police spokesman Lt. Col. Sukarman Husen said.

But they discovered the body of the suspected bomb maker, a 30-year-old man identified only as Firdaus, on a bus Tuesday as it tried to leave the school compound, he said.

Eleven people have been taken in for questioning, Husen said, adding that police also confiscated a number of arrows and machetes.

Husen said the bombing victim was a treasurer at the school, but media reports alleged he was a former bomb trainee in the Philippine region of Mindanao. According to TVOne, he was killed in an unintentional explosion while training students about bomb-making.

Police are still persuading the school officials to let them enter the compound, Husen said.

National Police Spokesman Maj. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said the explosion was suspected to be from a homemade bomb being prepared to attack the police.

Deplorable as you may find it, don't imagine that I would accept a link to the obsessive islam watchers of pajamas media at face value, without offering some "redirection"; in this case to a real campaign of violence in Malmo causing a national uproar in Sweden at the same time -- 15 shooting attacks, actual dead & wounded; the mayor with a terrified immigrant population including 50 000 muslims with 80% unemployment, while still atttempting to reassure the 700 Jews, some of whom were feeling forced to move. [ Not all "leaving the country as a result", pajamas at least got that right.]
Nor was I linking to "crime committed by Muslims and other Swedes" You should have gone beyond the link title. The VICTIMS included muslims. The shooter [if there is only one] is a 38 year-old "ethnic" Swede who has an obsession with immigrants.
Not planning to move is the 86-year-old, having lived 65 years in Sweden without ever before having seen such racism.

As for the Sweden Democrats' nazi proclivities, you dismiss the "one person" for one other person, the SD leader, and seal your argument by naming two Jewish members.

That's funny. Their English pals & advisors, the EDL, would say exactly the same, although recently the head of ITS Jewish Division quit, accusing the lot of Nazism. Inasmuch as the EDL aren't the Sweden Democrats it's not legitimate to respond to a pledge of non-racism by Jimmie Åkesson, or to my observation that two of the SD leaders are Jewish, by saying, in effect, "funny, that's what the (English Defense League) would say." I mean, if an innocent person accused of murder said "I didn't do it!", it wouldn't exactly be a prosecutorial coupe de grace to reply "funny, that's exactly what a murderer would say."

I don't place much value on third-party accusations that someone is a neo-Nazi or a racist, because the accusation has become the left's stock-in-trade, a crude and tiresome gambit that gets floated in lieu of facts or a convincing argument. Non-racist non-neo-Nazis like Stephen Harper, George Bush, Kate, Kathy Shaidle, Mark Steyn, etc etc etc have all been accused of the same thing thousands of times - *I've* been accused of the same thing. The accusation means nothing at this point because it's been devalued by reflexive, inane overuse. It's certainly not hard to Google up a litany of accusations that a leader of *any* right-of-center party who wants to control Muslim immigration is a racist or a neo-Nazi.

Regarding the spiked commenter, I don't expect any commenter to "bark at the intended target", I just expect them to address the subject matter regardless of whether I share their take or not. I've never spiked any of your comments, you'll notice, or Davenport's. The spiked commenter in the thread you referenced had been making one entirely OT point, over and over again -- "religion is stoopid" -- not just in my thread but in other threads, none of which were intended to be Theological Debate Central. People sometimes take a particular word that just happens to be in a post - the word "church", say, in a story about, I don't know, a traffic accident that happened in front of a church, and then use it as a trigger to gas on about whether God exists or not; or maybe there's a post about a fire in an Immigration office, and someone starts talking about immigration policy. If such commenters persist I will delete, but this happens very rarely.

BTW, I'm not unaware of the lone loony Swede (you say there may be more than one) who targeted Muslims, and I condemn his actions, but his actions are not in any way, shape, or form a counterweight to what's happening to Jews in Malmo. You seemed to think it is; I disagreed, and I told you so. If you posted a comment in Reader Tips that contained a link to a story about, say, a madman who was dumping poison into a town's drinking water, I wouldn't float, as if it was some kind of a vigorous counter-argument to the significance of the man's actions, "Yeah, well what about the pollution in the Yangtze?"

And the makeover? Basically a change from anti-semitic bigotry to anti-islamic bigotry + populism. More in line with the times & another parallel with the EDL. The EDL even had a ceremony in which they raised an Israeli flag & burned an old nazi one [I imagine that the latter would have been readily available in several back pockets]

You didn't read my links did you? I responded to the only comment that "acknowledged, in passing" the harrassment, [the rest just slagged muslims] but who accused the Malmo mayor of blaming the victims.
An architect who is praised for his role in developing Malmo into a model city, made irrelevant by the Swedish dirigist goverment's wacky version of multiculturalism, packing multitudes into one small area at the mercy of slum landlords , and saying in effect "Here you are, learn Swedish & you can't get a job until you do." So there he was, juggling gang warfare, a shooting spree, terrified Muslims & Jews & the pot-stirring influence of the Sweden Democrats.
