Sunday Morning Laugh

Now that our national holiday is over, it doesn't feel inappropriate to post this "gem".     h/t Steve

From the video description: "On Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, Liberal MPs unveiled their new 'gender neutral, secular, bilingual' O'Canada."

Here's the Chief Fool's website.

Incidentally, about a year before, the Royal Canadian Air Farce featured something similar. Clearly Carolyn Bennett didn't get the joke!

Thank you, that RCAF sketch was just beautiful and exactly what I needed to start the day! ;-)

I could only watch 1/2 of the cbc slock they pass off as comedy.

I didn't notice any difference between the 2.

See... the cbc is still ghost writing for the liberano's.

I'll take the Alexandrov Red Army Chorus version posted with it on youtube any day. And they'd been our sworn enemies for years!

Carolyn Bennett found most folks in the comments thougt she had better things to do. Even the Liberals.
To these people inanities ae more important than reality. Discarding God is manditory with this crowd. Its an obsession.

Oh blackberry, we stand on guard for thee.

Oops, in keeping the the gender and racial neurtral theme, perhaps that should have read "Oh berry of color, we stand on guard for thee"

The reason the Liberals are no longer even a Toronto Rump Party, is the fact that Canadians finally woke up to the fact. That this pack of FOOLS couldn't even find their own a*ses with both hands. And that they have just about completely destroyed our country starting under Lisping Red Mike Pearson, and the Commie A*s Kisser TURDO the Elder.

Posted this to Crazy Carolyn's site.

What a maroon and you wonder why the Liberals are the 3rd party and dropping fast. Wasting time on silliness like this is a perfect Liberal pastime for your chattering class.

Carolyn get back to solving who vandalized your supporter’s property or has that been dropped until the same people complain in the next election?

I asked where all the brown paper bag money was I bet it doesn't pass her censors.

I remember the first time "God keep our land" was inserted into the anthem. It wasn't that long ago, and it was at a hockey game, of all places. I see no particular reason to have French lyrics at all. Anyone speaking French is looking to separate, anyway.

In the Book of Phrases.....

"A piece of Work"

Definition (with picture): Carolyn Bennett

What a joke and others like the NDP's Caplan write about the foolishness of Harper and by innuendo - the Canadian Voters. They just can't grasp why they so unpopular.

A good article which really casts doubt if the Liberals will ever recover. My guess in NO.

I can't find fault with her version, at least she kept Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Given the May 2 election results and their musical talents, I'm thinking the LPC should change their name to Motley Crew.

My associates to the south are still bewildered as to why I can handle that tricky national anthem of theirs and the Marsellaise but don't even attempt "Oh-Canada...."....

Then once enlightened as to the shifting politics....they understood....and made representations about democRAT sexual preferences, personal hygene, intelligence, ancestry,etc.....in rude terms.

Far and away the most critical issue for the aforementioned "Motley Crew" is the fact that they cannot hold a tune.

The tone, range and 'harmony' are appalling.

This group is in dire need of voice lessons, and a serious choir director!!

Cheers

Bah! That's not diverse! The final line should be
"Allahu akhbar!"

Good question Free.

By the looks of the opening picture in the video, the Chief Fool must have been singing her version of O'Canada.

Motley Crew is right.

It's posts like this that help to delineate between conservative and reactionary.

I think she inhales at her Canada Day "smudge ceremony".

I also see by her scarf she actively supports a raiding culture of slavers.

Best concern troll in the world: Proud Liberal Member. ROTFLOL.

Ummm... Maybe I'm confused, but it's Saturday today. Am I being too literal (not Liberal - literal)?

I'm lost. She claims on her website that she was holding the words up for her fellow patriots, as they were singing the new gender free, secular and inclusive hymn book.
They sang the original version though?
I don't think she knows the words.

What a donkey.

My Grandfather, in his dementia filled final year, was prone to outbursts of the politically incorrect verses of 'Deutschland Uber Alles' much to horror of his wing's nurses..once they were told of course.

They tried and tried to get him to sing ...anything else...God save the Queen..The Maple Leaf Forever..Oh Canada.." He seemed to be in abject agreement with the staff and all was hunky dory until the provincial minister came for a visit one day..when prompted to belt out a rousing tune, he regaled the minister and entourage with a spirited rendition of 'The Horst Wessel Lied'

Heh heh..

They look like monkeys without the tin cup.

I think the point was to avoid the 'offensive' parts of the the anthem by jumping back and forth between the French and English as needed scrub out 'in all thy sons command' and 'Car ton bras sait porter l'epee, il sait porter la croix'. Obviously, neither 'God keep our land' nor 'Et ta valeur, de foi trempee', passes muster, so they just stuck in another 'O Canada'. At least that's what they were trying to do.
Sadly, even with the help of Ms. Bennett's Blackberry, her colleagues couldn't manage the new and improved lyrics, and just jumped randomly between the two languages and half a dozen different keys.

So why don't the Liberals just sing the French version if they don't like the English words?

Here's the translation of the French words, courtesy of http://www.pch.gc.ca/pgm/ceem-cced/symbl/anthem-eng.cfm .

O Canada!
Land of our forefathers,
Thy brow is wreathed with a glorious garland of flowers.
As is thy arm ready to wield the sword,
So also is it ready to carry the cross.
Thy history is an epic
Of the most brilliant exploits.
Thy valour steeped in faith
Will protect our homes and our rights
Will protect our homes and our rights

Sword? Cross? Exploits? Faith? Driving forces in Canadian history. That, I'm sure, makes the secularist, leftist Liberals sick.

Note, though, that the usual bilingual version uses lines 3 through 7, and thus includes both the sword and the cross.

Out of pitch. No sense of ensemble. Worst choral effort I have ever hard. And all in the name of political correctness. Damn them.

kevin it's posts like yours that make us all glad we found the right side.

Terry Anderson

I believe the Liberals are saving up for a tin cup.

Is "No related posts" supposed to be part of it, too?

For God's sake don't those damned Liberals have an ounce of brains! They look like closing time at a River street hotel in Moose Jaw!

Sing it in French or Sing it in English. Geeeeez!

Of all the barbarisms of the past, beheading traitors is the one I miss the most.

antelope: "So why don't the Liberals just sing the French version if they don't like the English words?"

The constant whining, fretting and fussing over the English lyrics certainly make the case for singing the anthem only in the original French that much stronger.

As your translation shows, not a trace of spineless weasel-wording to be found there.

Imagine, people voted for this lot!
