KevinB I thought there was a bright future in LED lights no I bought two for a trial. They don't give off a lot of light, and the white light has a decidedly blue cast. I use them in the basement because I don't like the colour. I thought one was on its last legs because it had got very dim, but it appears to have recovered. They are both in open fixtures, so they don't build up the heat that appears to kill CFLs. From my personal experience, I think they have a future, but they are not at the point where I would buy another one yet.

I disagree, PMSH handled it perfectly. Anything else would have been viewed as "overboard".

Regarding the 2015 election: as it stands right now, the CPC should return a majority regardless of the anti-Harper campaign. A similar campaign has been waged in Sask against Brad Wall to no avail. The bottom line is, there's no credible opposition as the Left is still fighting amongst themselves like it's 2010. Also, it is very difficult to regain the vote of someone that has now switched parties(former Liberals voting CPC). It was a very long and difficult process for the Liberals to alienate their supporters to the point of voting CPC, and they'll not be going back anytime soon. THEY, now like us, have no other option but to vote CPC in the foreseeable future. I maintain that PMSH’s real genius is gradually eliminating the Voter Subsidy keeping the Liberals on life-support over the next few years. Their own denial of the current situation, along with hopes of an NDP bust, will keep the Left in disarray for the next election cycle at least.JMO

TORONTO - The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) plans to investigate just how common it is for women to have their hymens repaired.

"I am hoping to do this research, but now it is just in the initial stages," Alia Hogben, executive director of the CCMW, said.

On Thursday, QMI Agency reported a story about Dr. Dimitrois Giannoulias of Toronto, who performs the surgery.

Giannoulias has a private clinic and performs the surgery for women who have arranged marriages in the Middle East, where brides need to be virgins or they can face severe consequences.

When he was contacted again, he refused to talk about how common the surgery was performed.

"It is legal. It is a sensitive subject. I'm not speaking to you about it," he said.

"I first heard about this two years ago in Europe," Hogben said. "Doctors making life easier for their patients because women need to be virgins at the time of marriage, but I don't think that should be a factor here.

"I hear it is popular in B.C., but no one is keeping any stats."

The Ontario ministry of health doesn't track these surgeries, which are not covered by OHIP.

"This is not considered a medical necessity so it is not insured," health ministry spokesman Andrew Morrison said. "We wouldn't track something like that."

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario wouldn't discuss the matter.

"I have no comment on that," college spokesman Jill Hefley said. "It is a legal procedure."

The Canadian Institute for Health Information also doesn't keep statistics on hymen surgery.

"I have no comment on that," college spokesman Jill Hefley said. "It is a legal procedure."

I'm not a lawyer but I think that putting the cherry back in the pit is a medical procedure.

So it looks like the Prince and Princess are too good for the hats -- I believe they have ruined some of their street cred.
