On This Dominion Canada Day

We are again reminded of the Trudeaupian Ideal that guides our bureaucrat class: Peace, Order and Racial Identity.

Happy Dominion Day, Kate.

We've still got a long way to go don't we?

"our people know what is right and what is wrong, and behave accordingly"

I see, if a Native takes thousands of pounds of salmon and sells them on the market, such as Chilliwack Chief Ernie Crey was caught on CTV cameras in a warehouse a few years ago,we can assume that it's for the good of this precious natural resource.

I wonder if a white man made that same comment,if there'd be any accusations of,say....."racism"?

And his salary is paid by whom? What a good little leftie Turdohite, driving wedges, causing disension, bring on the babushkas there judge, to sit in the parks and listen in on conversations to make sure they are "politically correctly discussed". The very people who expouse collectivism and the working together, never cease to work endlessly to split the country into who creates and who consumes. Well done Turdohites, you now have a country with more consumers than creators, taxes and stupid polititians are driving the last of the creators quickly to find a govt. job. Just like Greece.

Huber should be fired.

Writer says Harper makes him feel "uncomfortable" on Canada Day. There's a poll that needs some input.

Racism is alive and well. Reverse racism that is.

Thanks; dmorris. This guy is as dilusional as a Greek unionist. The poll shows that his readership is a cadre of like minded dope smokers.

This situation has lots to do with the mindset that allows caledonia(s) to happen, another outrage exposed by Blatchfords researchj.
This exposes the blind, politically correct thinking that infects so many policy makers in government.Unfortunately,Hamsters like Huber are not at all uncommon. It is the same mentality that strips 3rd or 4Th generation Canadians of their moral rights as Canadians and labels them "settlers".It is the same mentality that super imposes a made up incomprehensible "Salish writing"and quietly renames all places on the coast(see google maps) It is the same mentality that excuses blatant misdeeds by the natives by shrugging and saying they were here first.(questionable). The fact that this mental cripple is negotiating on "our" behalf scares the hell out of me.
When the inevitable split between Canada and the Quebecois comes., how do we ensure this same mentality is not at play when the entire federal bureaucracy is comprised of Quebecois?
Who is speaking for Canadians?

Christie Blachford is fantastic. I am so glad she left the globe and mail and returned to the Post. Typical BC'er I tune out the native stuff but she is the only writing about it and she is getting down to the grit on it. This is what journalists are supposed to be like.

One Law For All

I will fight to the death rather than lose my right to fish or hunt to some mandarin class of intellectual inferiors.

Stealth apartheid.

That story makes me puke. Talk about an entirely racist policy! So "progressive" of the First Nations advocate, eh?!

dmorris, thanks. I voted.

All of the above. Well said Frank Q.

Happy Dominion Day to all.

Silent dissent going on here in the Atric household. As we have our share of Turdopian socialists living in our neighbourhood, I greet them all with "Happy Dominion Day. I also raise the Union Jack on our flagpole on Dominion Day.
If asked why, I give them a history lesson and suggest they play The Maple Leaf Forever. Much head-scratching ensues.

@ nick 9:51 am
"It is the same mentality that strips 3rd or 4Th generation Canadians of their moral rights as Canadians and labels them "settlers"."

Bingo...!
We are no longer "settlers", we are just as "aboriginal" as any 6th or 7th or even 123rd generation!

For centuries before the arrival of Europeans on the west coast, a fundamental basis of the aboriginal economy was Slavery.

Aboriginals hunting, buying, selling, trading and murdering other human beings . . . real history that nobody will talk about because it doesn't fit the current aboriginal as victim meme, doesn't support the white man owes me, doesn't back up the all virtuous aboriginal storyline.

Too bad the families of those slaves can't have a federal inquiry into their rights, that we now value fish stocks over their human rights.

Tru-dough did a lot of peripheral legislating and a LOT of BSing to make us believe his big brother 1984 utopian Ottawa was an all powerful "FEDERATED" socialist state. The fact remains that Canada is STILL constituted as a CON-federation, of voluntary associated sovereign-within-right provinces - not a federation of provinces subordinate to federal omnipotent powers. This has been the great lie/fraud of the Trudeapian cult era.

All we need is to elect provincial leaders who understand and utilize their constitutional independence from Ottawa policy hegemony. For free speechers and property rights crusaders and castle law defenders, remember the constitution gives the provinces "EXCLUSIVE" jurisdiction over property and civil rights - the feds are interlopers in these areas of law. The feds were given only criminal law jurisdiction yet they routinely intrude in legislating in provincial jurisdictions.

Anyway, have a happy Dominion day and remember what Stompin' Tom said: " If you don't believe your country should come before yourself, you can better serve your county by living somewhere else"

Happy Dominion Day to all from sea to shining sea.

here's true 'racial identity'....

Afghan Security Forces Ran Away From Taliban Attackers During Hotel Siege Without Even Firing Their Weapons…

Cowards or afraid to shoot fellow Muslims? Probably a combination of both.

KABUL, Afghanistan — Nazir Amini, an Afghan visiting from his home in Germany, had just returned from the buffet with a bowl of ice cream when two men with an AK-47 rifle and a machine gun started shooting guests around the pool at the Intercontinental Hotel, one of the capital’s most fortified buildings.

Women and children screamed. Chairs tipped backward. Food slid onto the lawn as people started to run. Mr. Amini said he saw police officers running, too, tightly gripping their own AK-47s as they raced away from the gunmen.

“I said, ‘Why don’t you shoot? Shoot!’ ” he recalled. “But they just said, ‘Get away from them.’ And we all ran together.”

Six hours later, at least 21 people were dead, including the nine suicide bombers who managed to penetrate several rings of security on Tuesday night to carry out the attack. The assault has shaken public confidence in the ability of Afghan forces, especially the police, to assume responsibility for security, even here in the capital.

The scene painted by Mr. Amini and several other guests at the hotel vividly demonstrated the challenges facing the Afghan government as it prepares to defend its country without NATO troops after 2014. Last week, President Obama announced that the American military had inflicted enough damage on the insurgency to allow him to begin withdrawing some troops. This week is supposed to be the beginning of the transition to Afghan control, with Kabul, one of the country’s safest cities, scheduled to be among the first places to carry out the transfer.

Our “Multicultural strength” with take care of any entitlements for aboriginal Indians in time. The overwhelming Asian communities on the west coast and the influx of Muslims in east central Canada will settle that in time.

They do not owe any white guilt handouts, or believe they need to honour any pioneering whitey treaties. The sun is setting on the First Nations and they don’t seem to understand it.

Happy Dominion Day, indeed.

Union Jack unfurled

At my age, any new day is a happy day.

A pinhead DFO official ignores a thousand years of Common Law but accepts "Oral Traditon". To quote Ezra, " Fire them all!".

Et dominabitur a mari usque ad mare, et a flumine usque ad terminos terrae

Once you've come across a moose carcass with the nose chainsawed off, and the rest of the animal left to rot amid a bunch of empty beer cans, only then can you truly appreciate the way aboriginals "know what is right and wrong, and act accordingly".

I am sure that every legitimate outdoorsman seethed when they read that article. I know I did.

Happy Canada Day to all. Let us always keep up the good fight against this kind of racist nonsense.

I don't care who you are, no one has a carte blanche to wipe out a species. Using the race card to do so is equally odious. Using the race card to declare only some may have the right to do this or that is an abomination. Anyone supporting that right is a clown to say the very least.

Happy Canada Day.

Thisis an example of the real racists aoung us. To them race is everything.
Its an obsession of self loathing for atoment for imagined crimes because of their skin colour.
I don't believe in race. Every nation on the Planet has their scapgoats.
In our modern Mythology we substitute race for levels of civil behavior.
JMO

Bastard. He must be fired.

Trudeau

Every time I see that name,
I think of a French president or an ocean raft paddler with a snorkel.

Zack Trudeau.. Lo

anyway..

Happy Canada Day

This serves to confirm my long-held opinion that DFO bureaucrats are carbuncles on Canada's backside. They were complicit in the destruction of the Atlantic fishery and are well on the way to overseeing the demise of the Pacific salmon fishery. On the Richelieu River and on the prairies, these officious, ignorant #@$%&s swan around in expensive vehicles making life miserable for people like the Richelieu flood victims, the Craven Valley Jamboree organizers and prairie municipal councillors trying to maintain market roads that cross sloughs and intermittent streams. Useless parasitic bastards!

I'm not sure what prompted Kate's shout-out, but yes:

HAPPY DOMINION DAY

Is there an "America Day"? No. Is there a "France Day"? No. Is there a "Britain Day"? no. The only English speaking nation with such a stupidly named holiday is Australia. "Happy Australia Day"... hahahhahahhahaha.. can you even say it with a straight face?

I will never sing Trudeau's anthem, or celebrate his holiday. To all true Canadians: Happy Dominion Day and may it be joyous and proud.

Hahaha. Trudeau resigned as PM in 1984 and died in 2000, yet what a DFO beaureacrat from Alberta (!) says and thinks is still Trudeau's fault? Amazing! Meanwhile, Harper has been in power for five years...don't you Harperites ever take responsibility for anything? (Obviously not.)

I watched the citizen ceremony in Gatineau with the royal newlyweds. Jason Kenney and even the Governor General referred to Canada as "The Dominion of Canada" with many other references using the word "dominion". Could this be in the works to officially change it back to "Dominion Day"? I sure hope so.

They did not have quorum when it was changed to "Canada Day".

Stopharper >

"Harper has been in power for five years..."

So far, and still counting.

Ha ha ha :) :) :)

HAPPY CANADA INDEED!

"Trudeau resigned as PM in 1984 and died in 2000, yet what a DFO beaureacrat from Alberta (!) says and thinks is still Trudeau's fault?"

Yes, because he is the moron who put in place all the mechanism that led to this garbage.

I was born here in Canada 53 years ago. If someone has been here longer then they were here first. If someone is younger in age or residence then I was here first.

27 June, 2008:

http://scc.lexum.org/en/2008/2008scc41/2008scc41.html

In a decision called Kapp, The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that native Canadians had more fishing rights than non-natives.

Section 15(1) of the Charter of Rights is the non-discrimination section, and section 15(2) is the affirmative action (i.e., "reverse racism") section.

The decision, written by Rosalie Abella and (unfortunately) chief justice Beverley McLachlin, attempts to skip over s.15(1) and go straight to s.15(2) whenever "affirmative action" programs are at issue. The clear goal is to avoid the charge of "reverse racism".

Previously, one had to find a case of discrimination under s.15(1) that was to be saved under s.15(2) Now, one never has to establilsh discrimination at all - thus negating the possibility of charges of "reverse racism", a phrase which judge Abella at least no doubt loathes. This, plus her penchant for quoting lunatic leftist extremists like Lillian Hellmann, is enough reason for rational people to loathe judge Abella and her ilk.

Gotta love it, the INDIANS want every amenity the white man has to offer (usually for free) but want their "traditional way of life". What a crock. Just about time the government told them to get a life, get a job and get out of our wallets. At 10 billion dollars a year this is a massive waste of taxpayers money that only furthers division and instability. A make work project for thousands of government workers that accomplishes very little except their own job security.

Stopharper, “Are you a young person, perchance?” Perhaps you’re not aware of Trudeau’s 1982 Charter of Rights [sic: only for some] and Freedoms [ditto]: someone I know calls it the Charter of Fights and Fiefdoms. This Charter is like an octopus whose tentacles have life far down into the future. Via the Charter, the Marxist spirit of Trudeau is alive and well in our “Deranged Dominion” (h/t: Mark Steyn).

The gargantuan changes in the way government treats its citizens have not brought harmony to Canada. Rather, the Charter has been used to divide and conquer—and make lawyers rich. Rights and freedoms are bestowed—or not—to the members of select groups. Charter politics—the engine for our activist courts, our HRC kangaroo courts (where the rule of law has been entirely suspended), affirmative action hiring, all the way down to which students are hands-off for discipline/kids tattle-taling on their parents, etc.—are immensely costly in time, money, and lost trust.

Trudeau and his buddies, behind closed doors, also made sure that the Charter amending formula is so stringent that the possibility of making changes is about zilch.

Yes, Stopharper, PRIME MINISTER Harper has a lot of power these days: a majority government (with the same percentage of votes as the Liberals had) and appointed Senate. Nothing new here: so did the Liberals. When the Liberals had all the power, I guess you didn’t mind them shoving their left-wing, divide and conquer agenda down our throats.

Prime Minister Harper hasn’t imposed anything so sinister as the Charter on Canadians—a Charter, which is and will continue to bend out of shape the course of this country for generations to come. And THAT’S how come it’s reasonable to blame Trudeau for all kinds of the bad things happening in this country right now. Got it?

(The stopharper types are an irritant: thankfully, they're so ignorant and full of themselves, they haven’t figured out that maybe they should keep their vacuous comments to themselves: every time they open their mouths, they out themselves for the dunces they are.)

P.S. Ken, thanks for the precis of my comment about the Charter. Well said: if my post is too much of a challenge for stopharper, s/he should be able to process the information you provided.

lookout at July 2, 2011 9:54 AM

Well said.

Thanks, syncrodox.

(No sign of Stopharper: I guess s/he's decided to take my advice!)

What you people are willfully ignoring is that Huber works for the government, therefore he is promoting government policy. Harper must agree with what he has to say otherwise he would have just shut him down, like he has done with so many other things he disagreed with.

And Thank God for giving Trudeau the foresight to enshrine the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in Canada's Constitution...Harper will not have the unfettered freedom to make the "trains run on time."

Stopharper - please do not mention God and Trudeau in the same sentence; it offends me. Read what lookout and Ken(kulak) wrote and try again when you have some ammo - not drivel about trains running on time. The sad fact is that you cannot drum up any facts against PMSH; we, in the west have plenty of factual reasons to despise the evil PET.

Lookout is crazy and needs to get off of the computer and get back into the kitchen...she makes no sense. And Ken the Kulak is another nutcase that's in self denial...Huber works for Harper, not Trudeau! If Huber is not stating current government policy, he should be corrected. Otherwise, this is what your precious Harper believes in, too.
