I am an atheist and there is no doubt that there is a serious problem with islamism in this world.

School should have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with religion. School shouldn't accomodate religion. Religion is the opposite of science and truth.

Religion is backwardness. All religion! I am very proud that Quebec kicked catholicism out of mainstream culture.

Muslim should do the same with Islam.

When this story first came out I was certain there must be some crucial part missing from the reports - something that would make it make sense. But, no, it really is the most moronic situation ever devised by our best and brightest in the education industry. In what other areas of Canadian life would women tolerate other women or girls being treated this way? The entire TDSB needs to be fired and replaced.

I am a libertarian but unlike most I would like to see a burka ban. There is no way these girls are given the opportunity to make a choice not to wear oppressive clothing and face coverings. They are taught right from the beginning to submit to being 2nd and 3rd class citizens. Any signs of nonconformity results in the risk of becoming a victim of violence. This is not free choice, it is forced choice.

There are three good letters in the National Post today about the lunacy of allowing Muslim prayers in a Toronto public school during school hours. Ghettoizing and giving special entitlements to Muslims, separating the girls, and singling out those who are menstruating is quite unacceptable—not to mention “dhimmying” the rest of us. These really important aspects of this grave problem were all addressed.

However, I’m disappointed that two other, important issues have largely been overlooked, especially the lack of mentioning—even on Sun TV—the contrast to how Christianity, the basis of our moral code and, in fact, of our education systems, themselves (and many other societal goods), has been treated versus Islam.

While the public systems turned rabidly secular and “threw the [Christian] blaggards out”, with gusto, they’re now making nice with a religion that’s backward and violent. If the idiots who run education think Christianity’s bad—usually out of sheer ignorance and misplaced malice—wait until they see the end result of letting Islam “in from the cold”. One letter writer uses that tired—and, frankly, altogether annoying—“equivalency” argument: “Will our politically correct educators and politicians learn nothing from the European experience with Islam and other religions?”

WHAT OTHER RELIGIONS? It’s Islam that’s the bully and it’s Christianity, the adherents of which built the free West, that’s been and is being bullied, slandered and libelled. That’s a nasty cancer at the heart of the secularized West—and look where that's taking us. I’d like to see someone in the media principled enough to tackle this “dirty little secret”.

The other, overlooked issue is the utter waste of the rest of the school’s time while the Muslim students are at prayer. Everyone will just mark time and teachers will be paid their considerable salaries to NOT do their jobs. I wonder what Chris Spence, the Director of the TDSB, thinks of that. I think it’s despicable.

If the TDSB is allowed to continue with this dangerous and discriminatory idiocy—in direct contravention of its clearly stated “Equity [sic] Policy”, it’s another giant step toward our own dhimmitude. Are Canadians stupid and disengaged enough to let this happen? I’m afraid my answer would be yes. Kyrie eleison.

And here is the $64.00 question? Are Ontario politicians really dumb enough to think that the issue of Muslims groups holding prayer services in publicly funded schools is going to go away before the provincial election in October?

Will the Minister of Education, the Hon. Leona Dombrowsky, demand that all boards of education within the province submit a full and complete list disclosing any and all religious programs and/or religious activities of any nature currently being undertaken or having been undertaken within the last three school years or planned to be undertaken within the next school year at all public elementary and public secondary schools throughout Ontario?

Joining my voice to ask why the Toronto District School Board is in the business of advertising the periods of 11-year-old children.

Easy answer. Stop funding the school. No teachers, no custodial staff. Then sell the building. Those who would not or could not participate will be bussed to a nearby school without such activities. The cost of that would be more than covered by the staff reductions and building equity.

We can talk further about this, while we dance around the fires of hell!

Seriously though, I've no qualms with a church or mosque assigning seating and dictating who can participate. If these women comply with the PMS calendar, then so be it.

What I do object to, is the hypocrisy of catering to one religion and obstructing others. All of that said, I'd like to see more religion education in the public schools, as I'm MUCH more wary about the Secular influence and propaganda being served in public schools. IMO Seculars are just another religion that should be catered to proportionately to the demographics of individual school regions.

I see great value in learning about Christianity and it's history, as it's ours also. IMO it's a shame that the most read book in history isn't taught at our schools.
