Don't Let the Door Hit You on the Way Out!

Jason Kenney and his Ministry are set to rescind the Canadian citizenships of 1,800 fraudsters. He discusses the matter with Geoff Currier here. Sun News TV was all over this, such as here and here. It appears that even more than a few of Canada's Left support the idea that the law should be respected.

Just one thought: Bravo!!!

Question: How long will it take before the "support groups" start calling Jason Kenney a racist?!

Jason Kenney was on SunTVNews today. He said that the 'citizens' in question are citizens of convenience, only, and they haven't complied with the residency stipulations required for citizenship.

Kudos to Kenney. Would that all MPs and cabinet ministers were as straight up and strong as he is!

Good for Kenney!

The "No one is Illegal" group has already started a campaign against the government.

Their name says it all. Does the word moronic come to mind?

Does the government know they committed fraud or just 'suspect' it? I get the impression from the article it's the latter and that's disturbing.

Nice of him to dip his toe ever so slightly into the bucket of the how many 10s of thousands of illegals and crooks that should not be here. All that positive press and not even a dent in the list of should be run out of town list. The CINO CPC has hit the jackpot and have done dick to the overall problem that allows these jerks in to start with.

libertariansaresmarter, Kenney said that they've been working on this for several years.

"I get the impression from the article it's the latter and that's disturbing."

Disturbing? From an "impression"?

I still want it proven so the state can't just deport a bunch of guys on a whim or a multi-year bureaucratic bungle. Further, immigration should be made easier it's still hard to get in.

Obviously, it's too easy to get in.
Kenney said there are people who make a living by helping people gain Canadian citizenship through fraudulent means. It's a racket.

Robert we can tell from even the comments here that the people taking advantage of the abused immigration system in Canada are gathering.

However my listen of Minister Kenney's comments the people conducting fraud are also being or going to be recognized publicly. They certainly know who they are and I am confident the immigration officials know who they are.

Except this time the political support is behind the first steps in cleaning up the mess. Cheers;

some fun discussion on Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/sunnewsnetwork/posts/183117515086351

The race hustlers are getting the worst of it.

I sure hope this is rescinded.

As the research shows, "Diversity is our greatest strength", "Freedom through Servitude", "Arbeit macht frei".

Don't get excited, they'll appeal and re-appeal and we'll pay for those appeals for years. They got their butts into Trudeaupia so they have all the rights of native born Canadians and they know it.

I have no confidence that this will lead to anything except lots of tax dollars spent on lawyers, both from the government side and for the legal aid that all these fake immigrants will get.

Quite a bit more to this story than what is public. It's as much about "immigration consultants" as it is about "immigrants"... Don't assume that many of these "citizens" are actually in Canada...

How many Citizens of convenience live in Lebanon permanently, only visiting Canada for such things as health care or using the passport for security?

How many so-called Canadian citizens never set up a home in this country but cry for rescue when they have turmoil in their unstable countries?

Sorry, they don't pass muster as Canadian citizens, don't contribute to the country or stand up for Canadian values and should all have their citizenship revoked pronto.

Waiting for action, waiting, waiting........zzzzzz.

Libertariansaresmarter: not. Otherwise this person would know that the 1800 or so fraudulent “citizens” Kenney’s targeting are “citizens of convenience”. These are people who live in another country—usually across the world—and have bought their “citizenship” in order to plunder such things as our health care privileges and lower university fees for non-foreign students. These criminals are parasites. They pay no taxes, give nothing to Canada, but illegally get on board in order to plunder the goods of this generous country. Jason Kenney believes that most won’t appeal the verdict because they don’t even live in Canada and their cases are so clearly outside the law.

’Remember the Lebanese citizens of convenience, who demanded safe passage back to Canada, at taxpayer expense, during a recent war there? Then, when things had died down, a large number of them headed back to Lebanon, where they live most of the year, only returning to sample the smorgasbord of Canadian largesse when it suits their purposes. These citizens need to have their wings clipped: pay their fair share of Canadian taxes and not simply use their Canadian citizenship as a convenience.

Those of us, who both hold only a Canadian passport and pay exorbitant taxes (some of us for many decades), are not obliged to pay for those in the rest of the world, who have no right to take advantage of the privileges of Canadian citizenship. I’m hoping that Kenney will widen his investigations to determine not just the criminals mentioned above, but the multitude of freeloaders, who may be here legally—Liberal rules—but are emptying our coffers, while contributing very little: in fact, many take out FAR MORE than they contribute. By what “social justice” rules is that OK? And many of these freeloaders aren’t even grateful: they think they deserve what they take from us.

Idiots, like the “No One’s Illegal” fools—their claim that whites are invaders in North America contradicts their label, for Pete’s sake!—don’t have a clue. And, as these young bloviators are at the low end of the Liberal/now Conservative governments’ Ponzi scheme—no CPP money left for them, among other nasty outcomes, like maybe no more earrings through their noses or tattoos, but burqas—one wonders why they’re so keen to waste even more Canadian money now, so that Canada will be even more broke later—just when they’ll need some assistance with their old age.

Why bother having countries at all if no one’s illegal? I suggest these cretins take their own advice: as they seem to want to live with more Third World and other disadvantaged people, why don’t they move to a Third World Country and see what rights and services they’ll be able to take advantage of there? The cr*p that too many of our kids’ heads are overflowing with is dangerous to the well-being of all of us, and, in the long run, themselves.

The article says "The Citizenship and Immigration Department is currently consulting with Canadians about amount and the types of people it should accept into the country."

Does anybody know how tax-paying Canadians get to participate in this consultation? I'm sure we all have some very specific and practical suggestions about who to let in to Canada and who ought to remain in their assorted medieval fever swamps...

Bravo, Kenney. But it's only a good start, and long overdue. Bobby D @ 1:53 is right.

Apparently, 300 of these "Canadians" of convenience listed their address as Palestinian House here in Toronto: "News of the 1,800 who are about to have their citizenship stripped reminded [lawyer Guidy] Mamann, who has 24 years of experience under his belt, of the Palestine House, a Mississauga cultural centre where, last year, the RCMP found 300 people claiming to live at this address."

I heard about this yesterday on Radio Canuckistan. They of course had to followup with an item about those opposing it, mainly immigration lawyers who are complaining that the appeals will cost the government too much.
This looks like a new strategy from the leftoids; not that they are admitting there are illegal citizens, but rather it might cost too much to enforce the law.

I'm against the whole idea of dual citizenship. When I became a Canadian I lost my Dutch citizenship. I knew that beforehand and made my choice. I've never regretted it.

Janet in Newmarket: "Does anybody know how tax-paying Canadians get to participate in this consultation?"

In Today's Sun News, it was suggested that the catalyst for this action was the Israeli-Lebanese conflict. It appears that Canada spent 10 million to extract "Canadian citizens" out of the conflict zone, only to discover many of them had never resided in Canada and were bogus citizens.

One can only hope that this is just a start.

It would be reassuring if the majority of these soon to be ex-Canadians have contact foreign
addresses south of the Litani River in Lebanon but history would suggest they reside elsewhere.
Don't blame the thieves for robbing us when political scum vote seekers in all our major parties
have been going around making sure all the doors and windows into the country have remained
either unlocked or poorly guarded.

libertarian - why should immigration be any easier than it it? It's easy enough now.

It requires that you show evidence of skills that can provide you with employment - so that you don't come here and immediately abuse the citizens who pay taxes...by insisting that those citizens support you.

If you are already a citizen and wish to sponsor your spouse, you must provide evidence of residency and that you will support the spouse for three years minimum.

To become a citizen (and many remain permanent residents)...you have to know either English or French..and many permanents don't bother with either. That means you can vote..oh, wait, that's irrelevant because when you vote you aren't required to show proof of citizenship. Only proof of residency in that area - by two billing envelopes with your name/address on them. And a health card or driver's licence (and you don't need citizenship for either).

And if you claim refugee status, and that's a favourite tactic, then, wow, you are given food, housing, medical etc..right away. By the taxpayers who may eventually find out that you aren't a valid refugee...but by then, you no longer come to your hearings and you've disappeared into Canada. And you can vote, remember, all you need at the polling station, are your proof of residency. You can even come up with a new name for yourself.

Now - what could be easier than that?

Lets not forget that Also under Trudeau's failed Charter of Rights that they are also protected under this Even if they dont live here! And the Alledged illegals can also collect under the CPP if only paid into Once!
So yes Canadians of Convenience, Suspected Criminals get away with it & laugh in our face.
*Noticed i used the word Alledged! thats probaly what you will see alot in future Liberal rags(cbc, star etc...)

WE can only hope this is just a good start.

The former immigrations CEO stated on SNN that there are 30,000 illegals here with no authorization.

Perhaps the most appropriate way to handle Immigration problems is to accept that it was the Supreme Courts decision to interpret the Chart of Rights and Freedoms to allow full use of our laws by anyone who lands on Canadian soil.
By accepting that truth, we can then go on to using the "not withstanding" provision to overrule or set aside the courts ruling in order to create a more effective Immigration process based on Canada's needs and not the courts interpretation.
I'm convinced that Trudeau knew the effect of his charter on Immigration when it was drafted and it was a true Machiavellian move for him to get his way.
While Quebec has been the only entity to have the courage to use the notwithstanding clause, it is there for a purpose and this is an appropriate one.

The bleeding heart twits will work over-time to stop him. This problem is so big and has been around for so long that he won't even put a serious dent in it …. not without a massive outcry from the traditional Canadian citizenry, but more than half of them are on the left and half of the remaining half are still talking about the Stanley Cup Play offs Half of the other half are still trying to figure what's really going on in Ottawa.

Why do we still have the long gun registry? I think our pseudo conservative federal government is pulling it over on us. I think it's a show and they are no different than the Liberals and only slightly to the right of the NDP.

Kenny is putting on a show and nothing more. Deporting 300 fake immigrunts who are already out of the county is hardly a bold move. thge joke is that they will get back in when they want to.

Unfortunately I think old lori has got their number.

Sounds like a project and revenue stream to put a second Porsche Carrera in the Rosedale garages of the gubment lawyers and the immigration lawyers billing for their useless back and forth blah blah blah.

I want to see lots of people on boats waving bu bye.

Speaking of boats how many million have we paid so far for the last boat load of illegal assholes? Did we give the pirates back their ship with a full tank of gas and coat of paint yet?

I hear a lot of talk from Prime Minister Steve and little to no action.

How long will it take before the "support groups" start calling Jason Kenney a racist?!

I think you mean continue calling...

We may be surprised to find that Kenney's greatest allies in this project are the immigrants who jumped through all the hoops and came here legally and honestly.

The new Canadians where I work absolutely love Kenney, they revere the guy.

There is now a Majority Government in Canada. Remember just two and half months ago the MSM was predicting another CPC or Lieberal minority.

We now have underway 1/.a place to put the felons when the new Criminal laws are in place. No sense in there being an accelerated process if the enbedded Liberal Judiciary is going to let felons out due to overcrowding.
2/.The message is sent out about the most flagrant immigration abuses and if you think the action was delayed you are forgetting the "Leftist groups and MSM" incredible demands for even greater spending to bring these same immigration felons and their enablers to move them from Lebanon to safety.

Keep the pressure on; Political Parties will always react to polls, their jobs are at stake. But, real activity is taking place. Show some wisdom not just idealogical rants. Thanks; Cheers

I just hope before these pseudo-citizens depart our shores, that Immigration Canada or Border Services get their fingerprints or a bio-metric package on these people so they don't just turn around and come right back into Canada as happened in the past with deported felons.

I believe a major problem exists when passport entry and exit information is either non-existent or is ignored. It is not unusual, when an individual is questioned about his comings and goings to have "lost" his passport. Similarly, new Canadian citizens often return to their homeland for extended periods and cannot be reasonably tracked because neither on exit nor on re-entry from and to Canada, are their passports stamped. And why is this important? Think Health Care, Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Supplement, among others.

Unfortunately, this move is based purely on falsifying the residence requirement (i.e. saying you've lived in Canada for 3 years when in reality only for 1).
This is not even remotely touching on the massive, 100% fraud the muslims are committing when they lie on their oath of allegiance when they say they swear to abide by the laws of Canada.
Quran prohibits the muslim from accepting 'man made law' and only allows them to abide by it as a temporary measure while they live in minority under the non-muslim governments in dar al harb.

@ET: I don't see why any immigrant should have to demonstrate anything to the government other than abiding by the law and no dangerous diseases. All the rest is a bureaucratic nightmare. The idea that it is so so easy to get into Canada is a myth.

I'm not necessarily against this delisting I just don't trust the government. I'll be happy if those Lebanese convenience citizens get voided though.

This is not even remotely touching on the massive, 100% fraud the muslims are committing when they lie on their oath of allegiance when they say they swear to abide by the laws of Canada.

The crazy is strong with this one.

Helen D at 1:36 AM, the more we hear from that crowd the better. The one thing these fringe groups have mastered is how to ensure they remain on the fringe.

Considering only 63 have been revoked since the 70's, I'd say 1800 is a fairly big number. Big enough to test the waters of public opinion and further investigate fraudulent citizenship.

Libertarianignoramus: somehow you'd rather assume that this is a gov't whim and they have no basis in facts. Your "impression" couldn't possibly be based on an article which states: "After a lengthy investigation by police and the department of Citizenship and Immigration..." What are you basing your impression on anyway? Predisposition to contrarianism?

The Queen Dick?

Really you would just up an leave because the old parasite told you to? You would think, by gosh, by golly those ministers must be honest as the day is long soooo I'm outtee?

I am sorry I took the bait, sillyness abounds and I apoligise. I blame it on a combination of a lack of chocolate and the excessive humidity.

Again, I am sorry I lowered myself to bite.

This is a real president in this Country. Its catching them that will be the real test of resolve.
I can here the Socialists already screaming from Ottawa 3000 miles away.

People seem to be confused about this. Stripping those people of their citizenship will take years, if they decide to fight it in court. If they are stripped of their Canadian citizenship, this does not mean that they do not retain their permanent resident status. Therefore, they would have the option to remain here in Canada for as long as they want.

I wonder if any of the 1800 are named Kahdr?

John at 8:08 pm--
Actually, if they are outside of the country and have been for some time, they would also lose their permanent residence status, as there is a minimum residency requirement for that to be maintained. Trust me. I had to file through all that stuff with my wife some months ago to renew her residency card.

Norway doesn't want them now either...

(Reuters) — A huge explosion damaged government buildings in central Oslo on Friday including Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s office, injuring several people, a Reuters witness said.

The blast blew out most windows on the 17-storey building housing Stoltenberg’s office, as well as nearby ministries including the oil ministry, which was on fire.

Reuters correspondent Walter Gibbs said he counted at least eight injured people. The cause of the blast was unknown but the tangled wreckage of a car was outside one building. Police and fire officials declined comment on the cause.

Update at 10:14 a.m. ET: Although the source of the blast is unclear, Al-Jazeera TV notes that Norwegian prosecutors on Tuesday filed a terrorism charge against Mullah Krekar, founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.

> The crazy is strong with this one.

Which meant you liked muslims when you posted that.
After the Oslo blast you gotta just love them.

Give a hug to the gray lady, you both must be celebrating now, aren't you?

I was watching CTV this morning. Beverly Thompson had Vic Toews on, and she had the nerve to ask him about the civil liberties of these monsters, and whether they were being violated.

When you start to care more about the civil liberties of people who murder children, and rape and then murder women, than you do of the civil liberties of the murdered women and children, you might be Beverly Thompson.
