Well, I'm back! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable long weekend. We had a great trip, with all the dogs in the truck taking nice wins. Many thanks to the guest bloggers for holding down the fort while I traipsed across America.
Update, via my friend Tania who took this photo of our view from the show ring in Long Beach. I'll post a later update with more photos when I find time to get them together.

I filmed the fireworks over Broadus, Montana last night on the final leg of my trip. (I'm not sure what happened to corrupt the first few seconds of the video, but it clears up quickly.)
Normal blogging will resume later today.

I was in broadus last year, I assume you went to little bighorn or mt rushmore.
Neither - it's along the most direct route home from Denver, Co.
Welcome back. Hopefully you have a few pictures of the dogs with their ribbons.
The fireworks went by us last night and clobbered Chittick Lake.
Nice storm footage, snook up on it eh? Welcome home.
Bienvenue Kate! Glad to hear you got home safely!!
Holy Mackerel, that is SOME lightning!
Glad you're back home safe and sound, Kate!
Your dogs are definitely champs.
That's the kind of storm that cleans the bugs off the windshield and grill.
Glad you got home safe Kate.
Nature's fireworks -- wow! Makes real fireworks into fireworks lite.
"Hopefully you have a few pictures of the dogs with their ribbons."
agreed!
Welcome back Kate. Robert etc did a great job.
More pics please. Awesome video though.
Great job Robert, Mark, et al.
Welcome home Kate and doggies.
Congratulations on your wins.
I love driving in Montana. The music there is great.
Country music just wafts in on the breeze. There's no getting away from it.
Ah, the Queen Mary - now a hotel, and quite a nice one.
Did you go see the Spruce Goose?
My father in law was a steward on the Queen Mary in the 50's. It still looks pretty magestic.
The Queen Mary is a really cool place to stay, you have the run of the ship, it's usually not to busy and the art deco styling is very cool - especially at the bar. But you can go down into the engine room etc. too. Very neat. And it still holds the record for the greatest number of people afloat on one vessel, 15,000?
The Spruce Goose was moved to an aviation museum in Oregon a few years ago - probably a better place to preserve it anyway.
Thanks to the prior comments for clearing up something for me, I thought Kate had been in Greece and had taken a picture of the Sea Hitler.
hey, the Queen Mary, I've stayed there. It really is like a time warp staying there. No plastic or particle board in those rooms. Almost decadent to imagine being part of the privileged socialites that sailed her. Except for those in steerage of course.
Strangest thing (besides the ghosts) is looking down any of the halls (companionways) below decks. you can actually see the dip from one end to the other.
