Andrew Breitbart: Media War

From 27:43-28:42, Breitbart makes exactly the point that Kate made a while back, using a scene from Eminem's 8 Mile.

(I think he's lost weight. He looks better. There've been times I was worried he was headed for a stroke.)

Every time I hear Andrew Breitbart speak, my opinion of him rises. I wish him every success ... safe passage, and as Black Mamba notes, good health.

He has come a long way. Nice to see him cleaned up.

Alcohol saved me... priceless. (5:44)

I downloaded this podcast two weeks ago and listen to it day after day.

Everything he says is true.

In Canada, during this last federal election, we had the leftist, avowedly neutral media, attacking the creation of SunTV.
Then we had Milewski's bad behaviour at a Conservative rally being spun as a rabid crowd drowning out his democratic voice.

On the very first day, before the writ had been dropped, we had Ignatieff appear in front of a media scrum after the non-con vote talking about blue doors and red doors with an exasperated Milewski asking how he could defend him when this issue would dog him throughout the campaign.

When the election started, I watched CPAC, CTV, Global and CBC.
I read the National Post, Macleans, The Globe, The Toronto Star and every newswatch site I could find.

My overall impression from all of these media outlets was that they hoped for a liberal minority propped up by the NDP. (Note: Overall.)

The absurdity of it all was driven home when the story of Ignatieff getting booed at a junior hockey league game was finally covered and downplayed on Macleans.
One of the prime movers there was this OriginalEmily who served as the liberal's Comical Ali.

He wasn't there. His itinerary said he was in PEI.
Ok, maybe he was there but it's not as bad as you say it is.
There's no video.
I won't believe you until you have video evidence.
Oh, there's video evidence but it was only a few seconds.

If it wasn't for the internet, this crap would have been allowed to stand.
People don't depend on the networks anymore for their news.
They go online.
And this has a greater effect on the mood of this country than the traditional media.

When Breitbart had his epiphany, I was just trying to raise my family.
No fall back.
Just feed the kids.
I'm a little late to the game.

Thirty minutes well spent.

One of his many points that I agree with is near the end where he says that to be effective you have to challenge them on their turf.
Sun media is doing that, and the outrage from the left, such as the swan hands facebook group, shows that they are having an effect.

A little off-topic. Today I had the cbc on while doing other things and heard about a half-dozen reports about how one of the ships of the freedom fooltilla was sabotaged by the Israelis.
There was no mention of the damage done or why the Israelis were responsible. All that was necessary for this to make it into the news rotation was a statement by the jew-haters that their boat was damaged and the evil joos did it. I was half-expecting one of the media muppets to back up the boat people with a reference to the trained Mossad sharks.

I have read the book and during the read, I was at times terrified and then hopeful. Breitbart is a white knight, a warrior of the highest order. We need to help him any way we can. Buying his book would be a start.

Thank God for people like him.. When you see how the west gets, and processes news from around the world, I get the feeling we are like a docile herd of milk cows, being led around by our noses, while being "sniped" at with increasing rates of success, from the surrounding heights. People like Breitbart, may kick us hard enough to turn us into bulls.

I would LOVE to see Breitbart:

1. Visit Canada to promote his book.
2. Get booed by the Leftards wherever he was speaking.
3. Go up and confront the same, asking them what their points were.
4. Receive either blank stares or nonsensical jibberish in return.

And the Canadian Media Party would neglect to cover all of it -or- spin it in such a way as to detract from the real truth of what went on.

I, too am a Breithbart fan. He knows the lefty game and he is more effective because he knows their game. Breitbard does not play nicy nicy and give do overs; he heads straight for them and scores points for the right side. Thanks for the great link, Robert.

Everything he says is bang on. And don't forget the poisonous role of leftard soaked universities in destroying western individualism. Forced electives are there so no one will escape the collectivist agitprop brainwash, even when one is taking a useful degree.

I couldn't help but watch the whole thing, even though I was in a rush. What a great story of personal discovery! He is every bit the kind of radical thinker some of us admired in the 1960s, except that today "The Man" Breitbart fights to overthrow is the axis of mainstream, leftist media/academic power. (In Canada, he would include the bureaucracy in that axis). His is a noble goal, and I hope he succeeds.

Great piece -- pretty hard to disagree with anything he says. It's amazing how perversely an ostensibly "anti-establishment", "liberation" movement has morphed into an Orwellian left-wing media-political-education complex pursuing policies diametrically opposed to their stated objectives and how easily naive dupes can be brainwashed by it. Thank heavens for the internet!

The interview was interesting. I did not know the connection between AB and the Huffington post.

--red jeff @ 10:30, "Alcohol saved me" brought a chuckle.

Brietbart is great ..... listen to what he says and remmber it when you come across those lefty tools.

As Jema 54 sez, "he knows the game".
If you were only to listen to the voice (sans content) you'd label him a liberal, for sure. Which is interesting 'cos I heard Charles Johnson interviewed (before he went nuts and went after the anti-jihadists) and wuz thinking, 'this cat sounds like a liberal". 9/11 Conservative, presumably. Reverted. Breitbart won't revert, I'm pretty sure. Much substance, there!

When he says he has no problem going on Bill Maher (enemy territory), as Jema 54 suggests, he's on familiar cultural ground. He's got the look, the sound, the personal history. HE can do it. Not good advice though for many conservatives, esp. Sarah and Michelle.

I was most impressed with his comments about the Frankfurt School; not a lot of people know about this. Having spent some time in Santa Monica a while back, I got a special kick about how miserable those Frankfurt School cats were there, on the beach. How much they hated the "unrelenting cheerfulnes". Germans, you know. "WHAT .... not funny!!!?? You're joking". (Fawlty Towers).

Especially enjoyed his remark about the "post structuralists" and hearing semitotics once too many times. And about his disappointment in discovering that American studies were Hate America Studies.

What a great fellow. Cultural Marxism has been around us so long and crept in so gradually we think it is normal.

The claim of objectivity by the MSM, the big lie of the MSM is so true.
