Conservative women (especially the beautiful) present the leftist male with the unresolved unconscious conflict between his desire to have sex without responsibility -- because he is by nature emotionally immature (thus he takes on leftist ideas in order to be attractive to leftist women with whom he can mate freely), and his repressed need to fully express his masculinity, which is the essence of the conservative idea.

Because ditzy men hate non-ditzy women? They are scared their own ditziness will be outed? Same as Muslim men not tolerating a woman who thinks for herself?

Praising a hometown that turns out to be the birthplace of John Wayne Gacy, not John Wayne as suggested in a speech trying to gain support in that home town.

Saying the founding fathers worked hard to abolish slavery when Thomas Jefferson and George Washington owned slaves. Dancing around an explanation which had nothing to do with the original statement when asked to defend it.

These are silly factual mistakes that really were not necessary to be make in the first place.

Not knowing where the camera was when giving the Tea Party response to an event (sorry, I've forgotten which one) last year.

OK, anybody could make the mistake of not knowing to look at the camera whose red light on top is illuminated is the one that's live, but c'mon.

No matter what her professional credentials and her obvious compassion in taking on 25 foster children, if those types of silly statements can be made in a campaign, what kind will be made under pressure?

It was interesting watching the David Letterman program last night. He has been going after Sarah Palin relentlessly since the last presidential campaign however he immediately switched to Bachmann now that she may seem more threatening. While I enjoy the late night talk shows, the blatant slandering of Palin and Bachmann by the Hosts is very tiresome and sickening. You can't buy political candidate slandering like that put out by Leno, Letterman, Ferguson, Fallon, Handler mainly because they pretend to use comedy to disseminate it, or maybe you can.

Sheesh...it's kind of tough viewing Bachmann's and Petty's images side by side.
Bachman might change a little in the years to come but unfortunately for Petty he'll always look like Alastair Sim.

I find it interesting that the words Baldwin used to describe Bachmann are the same words that can very easily be applied to Mr. Obama. The only difference in this case is that you don't have to work hard to see that they apply to Obama.

That included Jefferson, who despite himself owning slaves, wrote that the British King was responsible for 'the horrors of the slave trade'. Jefferson would eventually denounce slavery; John Adams wrote of it as a 'foul contagion'.

And not looking at a TV camera isn't worth the words used to mention it.

The point people are making is that the MSM are hysterical over these comments, while they slither past Obama's constant misinformation, blatant errors and insults.

How about his 57 states, his signature in 2011 where he put 2008 as the date; his assertion that people in Austria 'speak Austrian'; his claims that doctors cut off limbs for money; his 'corpseman'; his talking through the UK national anthem; his gift of an ipod of his speeches to the Queen; his claims that 40 million Americans are without health insurance (ignoring that the majority consider it cheaper to pay for regular care rather than insurance)...his 'the police acted stupidly'..and so on.

The press/tv are going after Bachmann with the 'When did you stop beating your wife' type of attack - and I'm wondering: why.

At least, so far, he has not done a "Baldwin". We can't automatically infer that his intentions are the same.

Women like Palin and Bachmann remind us of someone from our childhood. It might have been a teacher, or maybe a friend's mother, but we tended to be afraid of her. Those childhood fears are easy to exploit. I can name a half dozen loud, aggressive women from my childhood, who have many of the same mannerisms as Palin and Bachmann. I'm not saying I couldn't support a woman like this, but I certainly understand how someone could, unconsciously, associate them with an unpleasant childhood memory. There were far more unpleasant memories of men, from our childhood, so they tend to blur over time.

So why do they hate Sarah Palin and not Rosie O'donnelL? Because Palin is more obnoxious? Loud? Aggressive?

Yeah well it's sorta like the lefty's obsessive notion that they alone are intelligent, educated and so on.

At a subconscious level they must know that they are not intelligent, are credentialed phonies, are unprincipled, and largely dishonest......and instinctively viciously attack anyone they perceive (at a subconcious level) as superior...a threat to their artificial self image.

My inclination is that they are especially vicious towards attractive, female conservative politicians because they project their own shallow, carnal lusts to others. They are misoginists.....the female lefties are just simply jealous...

Statistically they dominate the roster of political violence and are the focus of nearly all sex scandals.

I cannot recall the author of the "march through the institutions" strategy but it was a far lefty. By infiltrasting academia and the media, they have accumulated the political power they currently hold and are now in a desperate defence of that "by any means necessary" as evidenced by events in Wisconsin.

I watched CNN's son of Gloria Vanderbilt 10 minute hit piece on Michelle Bachman last night as he tried to counter Michelle's thorough beating she put on one of their other "reporters" (barf) earlier when she explained that limousine use has increased 70 % in federal spending since Osama , er uh Obama came into office. They also spent 10 minutes going up one side and down the other of Sarah Palin just for good measure. They are fascist scumbags.

Ron-For one thing, most of us don't have a loud, obnoxious, fat, dyke in our childhood memories. Even if we did, I don't see that many examples in modern politics, though Elizabeth May could be a fair substitute.

What I'm getting at, is the fear we have of women who dress, and behave in the way Palin and Bachmann do. They remind me of a woman who used to give me a vicious strapping every time I got out of line. Same dress, same hairdo, same mannerisms. It's hard to overlook.

Don't overlook the fact these women aren't popular with quite a few conservatives, either. I'm a conservative in my fifties, but in my twenties, not quite so conservative. Women like this were awfully tough on us rowdy kids. They were much nicer to the straight-laced, well dressed kids. I took some strappings for a few of those kids. I'm willing to bet most of their supporters were conservative by birth, not by choice.

They believe this so strongly, that they take it for granted that women, blacks, gays, and many other "minorities" are all naturally supporters of the left.

So when a member of one these "persecuted groups" goes off the reservation and identifies as a conservative, the Left views it as little short of treason. It wasn't that long ago that John Stewart mocked Herman Cain using "Amos & Andy" style speech, remember.

That many of the prominent conservative women are attractive, while many of the leftists are uglier than a can of crushed gophers, well that is merely icing on the cake.

In other words, it is friggin important and fundamental to our freedoms - because the media's power(steadily slipping) is so focused on the hate.

To answer the initial question, the answer is simple: hate.

The bottom line is, socialism/Progressivism is the realization self-loathing in practice. The entire belief system is rooted in hate, so one must expect 'hate' when dealing with a Progressive. It's not that Progressives hate conservative women specifically; it's that they react to all that oppose them with hate and vitriol.

This is evident with the new "hate-on" the Progressives have for Joos. Also, the "hate-on" for old folks(see 2008 US election). These people are coming from a place of 'hate', whereas, those with Judeo-Christian beliefs (typically Right-wing today) base their ideology in love and acceptance.

So the question should be, why do Progressive's hate conservative women, Christians, Israelis, entrepreneurs, south Asians, liberated Muslim women, white people, jocks, athletes, country singers, gasoline, nukes, the sun, trophies, prisons and planes, (and a whole slew of people/things I missed)?

The answer is simple: because they hate themselves.

Case closed.

The leftists actually hate anybody of either sex who does not follow their group-think, and being cowards and bullies they see women as defenceless and easy targets. They are always the ones who resort to violence and threats of violence but never in the open. A quick review of world history confirms the pattern.

For them, the Democrats/liberals/leftwingers/neo-marxists/femanazis, it's unthinkable that the U.S.A. could elect a female conservative before a female liberal(a female liberal lesbian would even be more delightful for them). You see everyone knows, that only the first of anything is remebered, ie. first man on the moon. So Democrats have elected the first black man as president, even though he's biracial rather than black, and they'll be damned if anyone other than a liberal female will be elected as the first woman president. The MSM is part of the Democrat party, and they are unashamed about that.
The only way BO will be thought of as the first biracial president will be if blacks themselves reject him. With unemployment at double the rate for blacks and currently 41% for young black males, one hopes there is a chance blacks could turn against him, but for that to happen, blacks would be forced to rethink the role of gov't in their lives, I don't think that will happen, it's generational. Blacks are inslaved to Democrats now, just as they were, pre Lincoln, only now the Government is their master.

I agree with the idea that they view it as treason from someone who should be in 'their tribe', as in the non-white-male-greedy-capitalist tribe. Further, they value identity politics above all; therefore they fear most those members of the 'enemy tribe' who they believe have the most political capital (i.e., women, minorities, gays, etc.). Since you cannot counter victim/minority group status with reasoned argument; their only defence is character assassination.

The last election was obviously thrown by the GOP old boys club under McCain just like they are
trying hard to repeat the process in 2012 by supporting weather vanes like Romney. The point in
the MSM ferocity when it comes to Palin and Bachmann is to cut off RINO donor support by
portraying them as outback hicks too embarrassing for the east/west coast establishment to support.

Comparing Obama to Hitler is, quite frankly, a legitimate analogy. Obama is a socialist-fascist, someone who ignores Congress, ignores the will of the people, is focused on disempowering the individual, is focused on enslaving everyone into the authority of the state - and Obama's 'state' has shrunk to his Executive Authority.

His hostility to the old allies of the US, his focus on rhetoric and emotional manipulation, his constant lies and misinformation - these are all behaviour that is hardly conducive to LIKING him.

I think that gordonkneehill has a really good argument; that women, gays, blacks etc, are a priori defined as 'hapless and helpless' and thus, ought to only blossom in the shelter of the statist left.

When a member of one of these identity groups rejects the left and instead, insists on being strong and capable - the left feels they are losing control over this rather large segment of their enslaved following. And so - they consider that 'freed slave' a traitor and proceed to lynch them.

You're right, it's a cheap tactic. Kind of like pointing to Tom Petty and Alec Baldwin and inferring that all "men on the left" are implicated, huh?

Perhaps conservative women present a moment of self-effacement for the liberals. It's not just that conservatives (particularly conservative women) make take away liberals' prized possessions but that they represent what liberals should be but won't be. Michele Bachmann is clearly a decent human being and a family woman. Imagine a liberal with no family because of his or her own faults. Why be reminded everyday that someone with immense fortitude and kindness is now at the reins? It would be crushing for liberals.

I'm not the first to say it, but, next step: Michele Bachmann's foster kids (of whom there are more than a dozen). If you've ever known anyone who took in foster kids, you'll know that most of these kids are messed up or damaged in some way. There are going to be at least a couple (at least) of these kids who are going to say horrible things about Bachmann; pathological liar, mental cases, anything you like. The Media will be all over this, trying to turn Michele into Mommie Dearest.

The left, rightly so, view strong conservative women as an existential threat. The idea of women as anything other than victims picks away at the first thread in their finely woven victimization narrative.

With Sarah Palin it was easy to portray her as an outlier, cariboo barbie, an uncivilized hick from the northern frontier. Afterall, Alaskan attitudes are hardly representative of the lower 48.

Now along comes Michelle Bachman, barbie with fangs, as she's been described.

What Bachman represents is another tug at the frayed threads of their bs tapestry and if she isn't cut off now the whole fabric of their world is in threat of unraveling.

Remember...the left has always been about the narrative/tapestry.
