Oh..how the truth stings.

I remember years ago when I was in tight with the NDP one of the scary records they had on display was a letter from a woman from some small town in Alberta to the PM of the day (Bennett?) in the 30's asking for a handout. She was widowed, had something like 6 kids, had no money, job, or prospects but was very industrious as most were in those days, but she hadn't eaten in 3 days and her kids hadn't eaten in 2 days because there was no food or money. The response she got was a letter saying much the same as hopenchange's response in this story, that is, not much. The NDP were displaying it as an example of Conservative generosity (tory times are hard times, that sort of thing). Something tells me St. Barack's letters won't be put on display in the dem's headquarters, though.
