Sorry I mentioned killing my Unicorn.

This girl might put me in jail.

"Studying animal behaviour as an undergraduate"? Somehow I don't think this is what Belushi had in mind in Animal House.

FOOD FIGHT!!!!

"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps
on the earth'" (Genesis:1:26)."

Animals? What about bugs?

http://www.infowars.com/un-document-would-give-bugs-trees-same-rights-as-humans/

Why in the world would the UN be interested in this so much?
In their plans for globalization, do one think that one would be free to raise his own chickens? Is own cow? How about honey bees? Or even trees for firewood or building furniture?

"It is again'st the law to consume anything else but state controlled food. Did you think about the collective good when you risked spreading bird flu to the state poultry farms with the dozen chickens you had hidden in your state provided backyard"?...Send this guy to "rehabilitation camp"

Welcome to the cult full time.

If God didn't want us to eat meat why did he make animals taste so good?

These people have to be another breed of rent-seekers. Having animals as clients is not very lucrative.

I'm not too worried about this one. She'll probably switch to corporate law or general litigation once she realizes that pooches and kitties don't pay their legal bills.

She is an example of the rent seeking and human control sickness that is creeping into all areas of our society. If this is not stopped the ultimate result will end up being like the Lenin/Stalin and Hitler regimes.

By the way, I never donate to the Humane Society anymore as they have been largely taken over by political activists.

The only animal behavior you need to know is "If it has teeth it bites".

This aardvark advocate, lemur lawyer, council for cockroaches, will be another parasite on the backs of tax payers for life.

If God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

"Animal law"???

Uh huh, so we see the demented left want to undermine 800 years of Common law in which domestic animals are property and wild animals are a public resource. Enter the legal concept of animals as sentient beings under state wardship and UN protection (rights) - yet an unborn human is "just tissue".

How long can it be until the culture war becomes a shooting war.

All I can say, boiled down to 3 letters -- OMG.

PETA

People
Eating
Tasty
Animals

The US is so screwed . . . far too many lawyers, far too few engineers.

the in Humane Society is slowly being caught out.
Even some MSM outlets have seen the scam this group plays & reported it.
Like green peace it will take a while for people to see them for what they are . A political lobby interested in only money & power. They lost thier focus many moons ago.

I hate animals!

Can I say that legally?

Whatever her deliberations, I'm pretty sure large cats such as tigers, lions, and pumas would be less interested in her legal discussions; than in viewing her as a source of food.

This is why most normal people view large cats as WILD; ie not subject to law. Generally large cats don't read legal texts nor are they in any way considered moral agents with a view of good and evil.

Further, large cats or feral cats are known to be 'meatatarians'.

"B.A. in Animal Behavior and Philosophy (double major) from Bucknell University" Not one but TWO worthless Bullshit Artist degrees. This woman has NO academic preparation to do anything but be a public sector tax trough parasite of one type or another.

Sorry, I see a Barely Able degree in philosophy and animal behavior but where did the lawyer come from? As much as I love lawyer jokes I do believe you need a law degree to be one.

"...to improve the quality of life for animals both in the wild and in captivity" (Sarah Conant).

How, exactly, do you improve the quality of life for animals in the wild? Does Sarah know how to live in the wild like an animal better than wild animals do?

And how, exactly, do you improve the quality of life for animals in captivity, other than setting them free to live in the wild again?

The best way to improve the quality of life for animals is to allow them to be animals again. Stop treating animals like humans Sarah, which is the most extreme form of animal cruelty.

Indiana:

You owe me a keyboard.

Scrolling thru the comments, I came across yours.

I don't know if you are serious or not, nor do I care, but your comment struck me as being hilariously funny. My bad.

Howver, I have managed to mop up most of the coffee I spewed over the "board".

"since I have a strong personal interest in animal protection issues...."

Probably because animals can't speak for themselves, I would imagine.

Hmmm....I wonder....does anyone know what her views on abortion are?

If her hair was in pigtails, wouldn't she look like the older sister of Brigette Du Pap (sic)?

Does she do work pro bono?

They're animals.

Moving on.

Only a rich, vain society with way too much time on its hands can produce a person like this and an ideology like this.

Our Western society, with it crumbling Keynesian underpinnings, is about to encounter a harsh reality over the next few years, and people like her will either starve or be field laborers (or worse).

Rats have rights. No? You didn't know? But I saw it on a poster once. We better tell the rats so they can start organizing.

No fear Bruce, I hate them all equally.

What's wrong with this woman caring about the welfare of our fellow animals?

From JMD: "These people have to be another breed of rent-seekers. Having animals as clients is not very lucrative."

I understand where you are coming from. However, don't you think there are institutions that would fund them handsomely in order to further their progressive agenda? The Tides and Ford Foundations come to mind. In addition, once the animals have rights they will be protected by law. Then we'll be taxed to pay for Government lawyers like Sarah, who in turn will fight for more animal rights, and we'll pay for more animal laywers and, of course, hundreds of home and farm inspectors. Plus whatever that leads to.

The progressive corral keeps growing. What happens when there are just to many "enemies of the state" to fit in their pens?

If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

Homer Simpson.

The nice young lady CAN help out our endangered deer population here in B.C. by planting plenty of clover and alfalfa in all the clearcuts.

And a salt block on a couple of the landings wouldn't hurt, either.

It was so much better when spoiled, dowdy Virginia girls devoted themselves to church work. Then they just annoyed the Episcopalians and the better sort of Methodists, leaving the rest of the citizenry alone.

Misguided? Absolutely.

She has been hoodwinked by universal access to unionised public education. Read Victor Davis Hanson on the looming higher education bubble about to burst in the US. That's when moms and dads everywhere stop paying outrageous tuition and costs for their kids to take programs ending in the word "studies", governments stop lending to all but hard science, medicine and engineering programs, and the banks follow suit.

This kind of nonsense will die right quickly when everybody stops paying for it, and the students stop registering for it.
