So Where's Your Burqa, Bitch?

The article states "Prime Minister Stephen Harper may not have won support from a majority of the eligible voters"
but few majority governments in Canada have had a majority of the popular vote.
The holy Trudeau never came close to a majority of the popular vote.

As for the despicable Brigitte, she has just made it much more difficult for young people to get work in the Canadian parliament.
And how did she go through a month's campaigning without noticing that lots of people attacked PMSH? She's stunned.

to paraphrase the One:
it's called democracy
your side lost.
get over it.

What this soon to be NDP candidate did with her stunt was to insult and spit upon the very freedoms she apparently is to dense to realize she has. Maybe an internship in some nice progressive country like Yemen or Iraq would be more suited to her delusions.

I look forward to the brave heroine organizing a "Slut Walk" in Tehran or Islamabad.

I think the criminal code of Canada covers it all. It is plainly a Seditious Act and punishable by 14 years in prison... (http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/C-46/page-29.html)

The insult to Canada and parliament aside put this nut bag in jail...

Above: "You guys won the election too! How revealing to see how wretchedly unhappy you all are..."

Unhappy? Not me! (Unless the Conservatives act too much like Liberals.)

The young lady has had WAY more than her fifteen minutes.

She's young and foolish, let's leave it at that.

The term "Arab Spring" is insulting to the brave Czechoslovakians who in the Spring of 1968 defied the powerful and oppressive government of the Soviet Union. We Canadians cheered and prayed for them as grainy films and photos showed Czechs standing in front of tanks. With Alexander Dubcek, there WAS hope for a democracy.

This WAS a "Cry for democracy", by an oppressed European Nation,NOT the anger of the perpetually angry Arabs and Muslims for their current ruling thugs, who will more than likely be replaced by more ruling thugs.

If real democracy actually DOES become the system in Egypt, I'll eat my Tilley.

I'll send ET the photos.

yup, her 15 minutes are getting awfully long.

The Brigitte seems to be suggesting that insurrection is in order. If anyone took her seriously she might get a bad surprise. The Constition etc. are set up so that there will
not be insurrection. Here is a famous clip with Pierre Trudeau on the subject:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7_a2wa2dd4

In fact, "just watch me" is mild compared to what he says toward the end of the video.
And the leftards were saying the same things then that they say today.

"In time of real or apprehended war, invasion or insurrection, a House of Commons may be continued by Parliament
and a legislative assembly may be continued by the legislature beyond five years if such continuation is not opposed
by the votes of more than one-third of the members of the House of Commons or the legislative assembly, as the case may be."
And that is in the "Charter of Rights and Freedoms"!

Not Patricia said: " how wretchedly unhappy you all are..."

Puleeezz...

The only thing that makes me unhappy about Prime Minister Stephen Harper, (the greatest PM in Canadian history), winning a large majority in the recent general election is that the Liberals won any seats at all.

Zero would be perfect for them and make me very happy.

We need not worry about the Knee Deepers. They'll be back to their regular numbers after their Quebec separatists, in the caucus, leave them high and dry in the next election.

Just like we had to endure 70 of the past 100 years under leftist Liberal governments, you, Not Pat, will have the benefits of a long, long run of Conservative governments for the forseeable future.

That's right, I said it!

DePape smear!

What always puzzles me, people that have political views like Bridgette DePape and have to endure that horrid country called Canada with it's unfair democracy, don't seek asylum in a country with a political structure more in line with there believes like let say North Korea or Venezuela to bad for here that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics doesn't exists anymore.

The silly girl deserves a spanking, but this story has legs because it is so representative of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition - Jack Layton epitomized mindless grandstanding when he was a useless tool in Toronto, he would spout meaningless drivel that appealed to the worst instincts of the braying mob, knowing that he would not and could not affect anything. Thankfully enough adults showed up to vote.

you can add "beeyatch" to the list.

dmorris - will you survive eating your Tilley long enough to send me the photos?

I reject your opinion; it floats like a soap bubble; ungrounded in facts and logical analysis.

I've made my factual and logical case for the necessity for a private market capitalist economy in the ME...an economic mode that must empower, politically, its wealth producing sector, the middle class. That's democracy. And the reason for that -is population, which has grown beyond the carrying capacity of a statist economy and tribal political mode.

I think my analysis tops your soap bubble and your Tilley hat any day.

patricia; grow up. Our comments are not about winning the election, but about the arrogance of a young woman who insulted the electorate and our parliament.

frank q - yes, I'd agree; Harper is the best PM Canada has ever had.

Well her mother is proud and her father thinks she is a dumbass but worded like a Dad does, not appropiate I believe.
Mom is real easy to please and has very low expectations.
np she is just a symptom of the wake up call that is required. June 6 1944 44,000 men died on D-Day and people idolize this broad? Mom isn't the only one with low expectations. For some reason this one expects us to babysit while they tell us to go away. At least we can count.

We live in the best country on earth and we have these people always wanting us to be like the the Middle East, etc.
Losers like her should just leave and find a nice apartment in Yemen or Saudi Arabia.

"patricia; grow up"

Well said ET. Ignore this sad and tedious excuse for a troll and let's move on. We won the election handily and we're certainly happy about it.

There was a young man who stormed ashore on this day in 1944. Well he would have stormed ashore but before his feet hit dry ground a German bullet ripped a huge hole in his chest. A boat heading back across the channel fished another corpse from the briny adding to the blanketed collection they had laying the length of the deck. As the crew was retrieving one more mother's tear, the one who didn't make it to shore sat upright and roared, "I'm not dead".

I passed an old vet. He stood ramrod straight. His ribbon and gong bedecked chest stood out like a barrel. I saluted him as I marched past and he returned in kind for though I wore a rank he never achieved, he wore the steel plate that filled in for those ribs he lost those many years ago. Men like that I salute. For those people who would return us to the tyranny my friend almost lost his life to defeat I have nothing but scorn.

Yeti, Marxist fanatics like Bridgette DePape do not want to find asylum in Venezuela, Cuba or North Korea because it is their mission to change Canada's political system to match that of those countries.

Philanthropist @ 10:53, exactly! Jack puts an affable veneer on his public presentations, but underneath he thinks just like Bridgette. A friendly socialist is just trying fool you.

I hope you're right,ET,but yours is just one of many opinions. Your theory MIGHT prove to be correct, and it also might not.

The CATO Institute, among others, has several good reports on why democracy in Egypt is a distant hope at this point. One Dr. suggests Yemen is more likely to have a democracy than Egypt.

http://www.islamtimes.org/vdcc4xqp.2bqms8y-a2.html

Then there's this opinion at Islam Times.

http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2011/0308_egypt_muslim_brotherhood_hamid.aspx

Brookings institute.

And on and on,opinions and theories are all over the internet,on the Middle East, climate change,Obama's personality disorder,(if he has any).

We shall see.

@Not Patricia You seem to have something very in common with her . You are both Attention whores...

...Welcome back, Kate ;)

Joe: Thank-you for your post at 11:47. Da Pape is a grown woman with the mentalality of a spoiled two year old and miserable chip on her ungroomed shoulder; the old soldier in his immaculate uniform and a plate in his chest is a thousand times her better: he was in 1944 and he is now. Why is the wrong story on all news outlets?

Yeah, like I said last Friday, someone, please, get her a one-way ticket to Syria -- and a burqa!

This kid looks innocent and all doe-eyed (with those swan hands doing a demented dance) but her "I didn't mean to," "it wasn't my intention to disrespect anyone" is a pile of unadulterated crap.

DePape is the ultimate in the now-universal I-do-what-I-want-when-I-want-FU irresponsibility and unaccountability. She lies with impunity. She shows utter disrespect for our political institutions and Canadian democracy with impunity. She does the uber-shrug thing oh-so-well. She does the it's-his-fault-not-my-fault-I-didn't-mean-to schtick to a T.

And, she becomes a celebrity being an it-wasn't-my-intention wimp.

I see it every day in the classroom. Out of 30 kids, maybe one will own up to having done or said something inappropriate or irresponsible. One, if I'm lucky. When I ask, as I do, "why did you do/say that," the inevitable and ubiquitous response is either "I don't know," or a shrug. I never accept that as an answer and students are surprised.

We're turning out a nation of weasels, of Weiners, of DePapes. Honestly, folks, it's prayer time. God's mercy is the only antidote to this train that's barreling down the track, this speeding bullet that's targeting our civilization.

Kyrie Eleison.

Stellar post title, Kate.

Good for you batb. I expect that my son-in-law would appreciate teaching alongside you.

A woman peacefully protest's abortions she does nearly 18 years in jail for violating a restraining order this young woman allegedly violates the law and get's job offers. See how our justice system persecutes those that don't walk lock step with the progressives radical's agenda and see how the radical progressives are treated like they are above the law? She should be charged and tried in a court room and I'm outraged that she gets to allegedly flaunt the law because the powers that be are freaking gawd damn cowards.

I'm so happy the Conservatives won. Maybe DePape could call it a blue eyed arab spring. As long as she speaks for Quebec, I am comforted that the Conservatives are not getting many votes there.

Here's an idea. Could we organize a collection to send Ms DePape to the Mideast on a one-way plane ticket? How much is air fare to Syria or Yemen? We could collect the cash, chipping in a few bucks each, and then publicly announce our free offer.

I'm serious, guys. She got to do her stunt, now it's our turn. And OUR stunt would actually have a point.

Great idea, Ellie. Yes, it would be a "teachable moment" or more for this spoiled brat to really put her money where her ignorant mouth is.

She wants an “Arab spring”? Fine. Go to where one is needed. I deal with entitled idiots like her: they swagger and preen—and actually have no regard for anyone but themselves. They are the most ignorant, selfish jerks one can imagine. The system—which is as left and moronic as they are—coddles them. There are legions of Mlle DePapes out there. Our Peter Pan, child-parents and our education systems are breeding them. As I’ve said. Be afraid.

Chiming in with batb, Kyrie eleison.

One of the books I'm reading right now is on the theme of fidelity. It is defined, in part, as follows:

Fidelity is a good habit, a voluntary and constant activity, an uplifting inner force that leads one to fulfill with sincerity and fortitude the commitments one has contracted, the promises one has made, the word one has given.

This may be a foreign concept to "young skulls full of mush" such as Mlle. DePape, (and older skulls such as Mssrs. Clinton and Weiner - and their acolytes) but common sense knows it as a mark of trustworthiness. And in the end, a lack of fidelity comes back to bite you.

I'm just a bit curious about Ms DePape's contention that Canada needs an "Arab Spring". Is she advocating a violent revolt to over-throw the just elected by a majority of voters Conservative government, because the other Parties lost the election over ideas?

Are any elected members of the HoC or Senate publicly supporting her call to arms, so to speak? If so, are they not going against their oath that they swore to when taking their seats in either the Senate or HoC?

What she did, in my view, was surrepticiously infiltrate a Canadian insititution via her privileged employment position and detonate an explosive device, but in this case sans explosifs. That makes it "OK" in some people's view, but it was "for the cause", whatever that might be. So, what was "the cause"?

For whom did she do it for, because it wasn't her idea, that I'm sure of? Who are her supporters? The CBC, CTV or Bell Globemedia, the "usual" perpetually aggrieved sore losers of the last couple of elections? The BLOC, NDP, Liberals?

She is moved to espouse violent insurrection and then carries out a symbolic attack upon a Canadian institution and duly elected Canadian government and walks free? Who pushed her? Oh, she was fired from her job. She is collecting EI in the interim?

Seventy years ago, my own father shot at people that thought that way. They were called fascists, or nazis and we bombed cities full of their supporters practically every night for six years, to have what we have today. Millions died worldwide. We are still adjusting to that assault on freedom and democracy today.

Ms DePape's political mentors, including some of the MSM, need a lesson in democracy. They need to be charged with sedition for even giving Ms DePape a platform for what she espouses, or voicing approval of her actions in any way shape or form.

I'm gobsmacked that the current government is giving this any sort of a pass. What message are they sending to our impressionable youth? What message are they sending to me, who voted for them?

You people really think "trolling" Parliament is worth sending a young woman to jail or deporting her to a country where you think they know how to deal with uppity "bitches" like her? You think Canada is run by "Marxist fanatics" even under a majority Conservative government because someone who made a fool of your darling politician wasn't silenced for good? I don't know what you'd call a country where the government did that sort of thing, but I wouldn't call it free.

Yes, DePape is exaggerating, Canada isn't in real need of a Prague Spring, and I hope it never does. It'll be no thanks to the sort of people who frequent SDA!

The only fool DePape made is of herself. She's one deranged dingbat.

And, now, with your comment, Dick Slater, you've made a fool of yourself. Pi** off, why don't you?

Poor girl. Heart broken because the chamber was not filled with Green party MLAs. Not a single granola crunching , foam at the mouth tree hugger to be seen. Except Elizabeth of course, but she was somewhere in the nose bleed section and was probably gagged and bound. No opening speech by Gore or Suzuki.
Feel her pain. Have all you SDA bloggers no heart ??.

Send her on a free trip to Egypt. Give her a teaching moment she will never forget.
Than let her talk about the "arab Spring" which in my books, is the begining of the Arab Winter.

batb

Your absolutly correct except in one thing you left out. Most folks have become that way through osmosis by media.
