On Wednesday, News Talk Radio will host a Saskatchewan Day of Caring, a 12-hour radiothon to raise money for flood victims.

I predict it'll go well.

Hmmmmm a town called Oxbow.
A telling name for a geomorphologist.
Hopefully it does go well.
My gpa bought his first farm in Canada after escaping the paradise in Soviet Union in 1931 about 6 miles south of Oxbow and there is, I believe, a beautiful little stream in a valley on the south side of Oxbow.
It is pretty sad about the looting going on. I realize there are not enough police to patrol the areas evacuated, but why could the reserve units in Saskatchewan provide some security units? I know some of the men are serving with the regular forces, but surely a platoon or two could have been set up to provide security.

Or . . . open a special hunting season on "two legged deer" might just solve the problem.
It will go well - I hope.
Re: looters - round them up, tag them, throw them in a cage and then organize clean up, mop up, build up jobs with a well armed supervisor to watch over them. If any of them gets lazy or attempts to leave just deprive the crook of his/her shoes and long pants long sleeved shirt. Skitters will make them co-operate.
When does this AGW thing kick in? Cause I heard it might dry things out a bit....
Off topic but so worth a look
it is titled 'This union is corrupt'

I volunteered to work with the red Cross back in March. Because of the nature of the work, I had to send my fingerprints to Ottawa for a "vulnerable sector" criminal record check. Was told it would take 2 - 3 months, which are well past now. I'm guessing that the Canada Post lockout has screwed up delivery and delayed my getting into the field.
Did anything down there get seeded?
It's time to open a lakeside resort in every quarter section. Sow wild rice and rainbow trout.
Also, bottling the extra water and selling it to Arizona and California, there's a plan...
"Bottled water fresh from the wilderness of Southern Saskatchewan, Canada,... slough good for you!"
"And with each 200 gallons purchased, we throw in a free duck!"
Yes syncro some did get seeded. My brother who lives approx 20 miles from this area got 4 quarters out of 14 seeded. I would say that is about average with the rest of the area.
Well...that isn't good..
Larry, that is not good. Best of luck.
