Fans of photography will find this short documentary very interesting. Scott Schumann is a photographer & blogger from New York City. His blog, The Sartorialist, focuses on how people present themselves out in public. As an avid photographer myself, I wish I had the nerve to go up to people like he does but usually am not so forward.

If you're seen any spectacular photos of late, or otherwise just have some colourful thoughts, feel free to share them in the comments!

Both regina.CTV.ca and Saskatoon.CTV.ca are running polls on the strike by Sask Crop Insurance. Please vote to tell them to go back to work.

Interesting break between Regina and Saskatoon in the numbers on those polls. I thought they would be the other way around but then Saskatoon is further from the problem.

Done, and done.

If anyone tells you that Sun News TV is a "far right" network, mention to them that they do employee one Jill Bennett. Ms. Bennett also hosts the early morning shows on CKNW radio on the weekend and absolutely H-A-T-E-S both Conservatives and conservatives.

Thanks Robert for that interesting documentary. I too dabble in photography for the fun of it.

I always carry a camera in case I see something interesting on the side of the road.

Bravo to Geert Wilders.

"Geert Wilders cleared of hate charges by Dutch court"

"Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders, who described Islam as "fascist", has been acquitted of inciting hatred against Muslims.

Amsterdam judge Marcel van Oosten accepted the Freedom Party leader's statements were directed at Islam and not at Muslim believers.

They were, the judge ruled, "acceptable within the context of public debate"."

"Canada called prime real estate for massive data computers"

"Oil, lumber and water are crucial resources, but some of Canada’s most coveted assets in coming years could be sprawling server farms that are cooled with the winter air and hidden away in non-descript buildings from coast-to-coast.

The country has been ranked the second-best place on the planet to house the massive computers needed to run corporate networks and Internet sites."

"Those giant centres of computing power are large users of power, and can be attractive targets for terrorists and others looking to disrupt communication links. But Canada has a wealth of relatively cheap electricity, inexpensive cooling thanks to the weather, competitive corporate tax rates, and political stability – all of which place the country just behind the United States, and well ahead of other global hubs such as China and India."

"Hundreds flee into Turkey as Syrian troops storm border village

AFP – Hundreds of displaced Syrians poured into Turkey on Thursday after Syrian troops backed by tanks approached their makeshift camps along the border, an AFP journalist reported.

Several hundred people broke through the barbed wire marking the frontier between the two countries and were seen advancing into Turkish territory on a road used by Turkish border guards, a few kilometres from the Turkish village of Guvecci."

Here's something interesting. Hopefully it's something that we can cancel after the next election.

Major investment at McMaster
Ted Michaels
6/22/2011

Lot's of smiles at McMaster University today.

The Ontario government is investing 45.5-million dollars, that will allow McMaster to build a major new liberal arts building that will be used by more than half the entire student body.

It will also improve access to education for under-represented groups such as Aboriginal people, Crown wards and first-generation students.

The Wilson Building for Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences will feature a wide range of flexible spaces for teaching, learning, research and performance, all equipped with cutting-edge technology.

At least 13,000 students will use the building, including those from faculties whose education includes courses in the liberal arts.

At 104,000 square feet, the building will create space for 1,275 more students on campus.

The project is to commence in 2012, with construction anticipated to begin in 2013.

Don't expect Michael Moore to do a documentary on this story any time soon.

"The “Kak” Hits The Fan"

"U.S. budget talks collapsed on Thursday after Republican negotiators walked out, throwing doubt on Washington’s ability to reach a deal that would allow the government to keep borrowing and avoid a debt default.

Representative Eric Cantor, the No. 2 Republican in the House of Representatives, said participants had identified trillions of dollars in potential spending cuts but were deadlocked over tax increases sought by Democrats. Republican Senator Jon Kyl also pulled out, according to an aide.

“Regardless of the progress that has been made, the tax issue must be resolved before discussions can continue,” Cantor said in a statement."

Weird shenanigans over at the CRTC invitation to comment on the CBC. I'd say that at least 80%, maybe more, of the comments are torpedoing the CBC, with a few dieheard leftards defending our "national broadcaster."

I've made a number of comments, seriously challenging commenters who defend the CBC's agenda, and now I'm not able to comment any more. "They've" asked for an e-mail address, which I gave before, and a password, which I've never been asked for before.

What the ...?

Are my comments too pointed, too close to the bone, too informative? I have no idea. But, I do know that I've effectively been cut off.

'Figures, doesn't it?
