The Port of Metro Vancouver

I got to attend the recording of this TV show, featuring Robin Silvester, CEO of Port Metro Vancouver:

Certainly there's a focus on Vancouver but Mr. Silvester revealed several facts & statistics that I wasn't aware of, including the Expansion of the Panama Canal. Though most people aren't aware of it, the Port of Metro Vancouver directly or indirectly effects the lives of most Canadians.

Looks good, though it could use more flashbangs to the nuts.

Thanks Robert. The Panama Canal expansion video is interesting. Some of the preliminary work was being done when we were there in 2006. I expect that the completion of the new canal allowing the passage of larger container ships carrying goods to the east coast will reduce the west to east rail traffic crossing North America.

We made some observations in the short time we were there. The canal zone was very clean in contrast to much of the outside the zone which looked a big garbage dump. Tenement buildings so decrepit that they made our inner city apartment buildings look like paradise. There were a lot of big guards carrying sub-machine guns.
