Kelly McParland Eviscerates a 21 Year Old Narcissist

Now more simple reality:

...

The Canadian Senate Page Program: Each year, fifteen university students from across Canada are selected to participate in the program - one of the most sought-after privileges available to university students. "Under the direction of the Usher of the Black Rod, these leaders of tomorrow are given a remarkable opportunity to be leaders of today."

Brigette DePape: The 21-year-old graduate from the University of Ottawa made headlines for holding up a protest sign that read 'Stop Harper' at the start of the Throne Speech: "This country needs a Canadian version of an Arab Spring." DePape has since received several job offers and is considering taking a position with the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

Hamza Ali al-Khateeb: A 13-year-old Syrian boy who tagged along at an antigovernment protest in the town of Saida a few weeks ago, was arrested, was burned, beaten, lacerated and given electroshocks. His jaw and kneecaps were shattered. He was shot in both arms. When his father saw the state of Hamza’s body, he passed out...

But Harper must be stopped; up DePape's self-promoting...:

Quel courage. Quelle lèse majesté.

A superb juxtaposition, Mark! Such a hero she is ... so incredibly brave ... a future leader ... as if!!!

If you follow the link to Terry Glavin's blog, eventually it leads you to ... Heather Mallick.

A shooting star, too be sure, burning bright in a moment then burning into nothingness(which is some left/socialist/unionist dark place).

Maybe she will one day see the folly of her actions, one can only hope.

Oh boy, here comes a culture war. Or as people with foresight call it, western separatism.

Yes, she certainly is brave. I wish I had her courage.

Great job you did there Ma&Pa DePape.

Yes, the Red Star had a front-page pro/con debate about it. Unfortunately, the con writer didn't start his piece with "Heather, you ignorant slut...".

With her Marxist world view she will fit right in with PSAC.

Everyone is over-thinking this chickie and her disrespectful conduct.

Her beloved side lost the election, and she is a sore loser. In fact, she is the symbolic leader of a whole lot of post-election sore losers.

She isn't fearing for the future or bravely standing up for some important principle, she just has sore-loser-itis. Why is this not the way her actions have been framed?

Michael Moore is hopping on the Idiot Page's 15 minutes of fame train. Time to expose the horrors of that whole Democracy scam.

"and she is a sore loser"

A lot of philosophizing could be done on this, but I think turtle summed it up neatly.

belated /sarc

The left sure has a weird definition of "hero" and "heroics". They are, quite simply, gelatinous.

This dumb cnut is the poster child for raising the voting age to 30. It is clear that intellectual maturity comes later every succeeding generation and today's 21 is yesterday's 13. By gawd the U of Zero is a useless school of dumbas$ery is this is an example of the intellectually vacuous it graduates.

Tumbrel it is then...

Hmm -- a job offer from PSAC. I actually thought she might have difficulty finding employment after this, but a job with PSAC sounds just about right. I have no doubt she will get her comeuppance. The cynical union mentality is so appropriate in this case. PSAC is exactly what she deserves.

I have no doubt that she is merely the tool in this well crafted piece of theater. It wouldn't surprise me if some UofZero profs were behind this whole scheme. Will the PMO get the RCMP to quietly investigate? probably...

There are a lot of once-complacent leftards who never thought a conservative majority was going to happen because they believed in their 'public opinion' polls. Now they're striking back like spoiled children, and only showing how foolish they've been all along. We're seeing the fruits of the Trudeau/Cretian Regime suddenly having to face the fact that they're not in power anymore and no longer have the support of centrist Canada. This sort of petulance is just the start of a four year temper tantrum.

"Each year, fifteen university students from across Canada are selected to participate in the program - one of the most sought-after privileges available to university students."

Obviously we have set the bar to low for these positions. Maybe some other criteria could be used that would eliminate spoiled kids who have never wanted for anything and have walked through life getting everything handed to them.

what a little beeyotch.

The media is flaming this into a big story... interviews, articles, etc. They should rather treat it as they treat people that run onto a sport's field (this is a similar type of event, I think), and ignore it. Now, any attention-seeker knows what to do. Please Media, ignore this little twirp.

I think it is funny. This mindless little twit exposed herself as such. Watch her interview, not very intelligent, except by University of Ottawa standards.

She is a hero.

The fact that Harper got the most vote (40%) is not an indication that he is legitimate. In the middle ages, the fact that the majority of people thought the earth was flat didn't mean the earth was actually flat. The majority is often wrong and must be educated. This is Canada in 2011, same thing.

I don't advocate violence. I think a canadian arab spring is a metaphor to indicate a kind of political war against these evil and offensive ideas of Harper.

A kind of anti haper canadian tea party.

Vive Jack Layton.

You better watch out cause if Layton is not elected PM in 4 years, I'll become separatist again.

She is a hero.

I find it hilarious that the left is hailing her as a hero and a "true Canadian patriot". But lets just spin this around for a second: lets say it was Layton sitting to the right of the Governor General having his throne speech read. If a young right-mided page did the exact same thing the left would be in uproar about how those actions are a disgrace to the parliamentary system, just wants attention, disrespectful brat, etc etc. The hypocrisy from them is unbelievable.

quebecois NDPiste don't let the door slam you in the ass on the way out!

Actually, I think she could get a job in a topsy turfy world led my Jack Layton. Take a good look at her, she will then be the Canadian Commissar Strelnikov, the mean and vicious general in Doctor Zhivago. Hope this will never happen in Canada.

No! Have pity!

Hey quebecoisNDPiste, is that a threat? Vote my way or else we take our ball and leave?

You know something, it's that pathetic know-it-all, my-way-or-the-highway attitude that is what's wrong with this country. I feel bad for honest, hard-working Quebecers who want to make the world a better place but have vain people like yourself making them look bad.

Okay quebecois ndp, if we take your argument as being your firm position of what constitutes legitimacy, i have two questions for you:

1. How many of the ndp MPs are legitimate - iow they got more than fifty percent of the vote on may 2? And further to that, if the turnout of voters was in the low fifties (as, if memory serves, was the case in a large number of quebec ridings) even with fifty percent of the votes, less than fifty percent of those eligible voted for the ND candidate.

2. And in the 'fifty plus one position on sovereignty' supported by the NDP - is that fifty plus one of those who voted or those who were eligible to vote? If it's the former, then the argument can be made that that is not a legitimate mandate. (for the record it think that the former is legitimate, but then I also think that 40% or what ever percent was needed to form a majority under the rules is a legitmate majority mandate)

...
And the (idle) threat that you will be come a separatist (again - as if - you gutless pansy - there are hard-boiled separatists like parizeau who in have a lot of respect for - you aren't one of them) then don't wait, become on now, their is not a chance in heck that the NDP will become the ruling party.

To the contrary - it is now highly probable that they will become a regional - Quebec only - party to go along with its far left fringe character.

This story is about STATE betrayal! nothing more...

Every homeless person has a sad Story!

Bleep the seperatist, and all their yada yada yada. It's like "I'm leaving you! I'm going back to my mother, unless you give me a fur coat" etc, etc.

Sadly, they never follow through. Dont give them anything for four years! See if they go away. It will never happen, all the other goodies on the gravy train is too addictive.

We have to kick this cur out to free ourselves from them.

Now that would be good!

Then renegotiate, and this time make it fair and balanced, with an elected senate.

One vote per taxpayer, and they all count equally

Vapid leftard wound up by her polisci prof on which she had a secret crush. Up next, burka clad broad in equality page program blows up house. Dont say you did not see it coming.

Actually she is too stupid to know which shoe goes on which foot. End of story. Lets move on.

She isn't a hero. She was lucky enough to be given a job that requires maturity and responsibility. She blew that trust with a juvenile temper tantrum, a silly stunt. At best she provided an amusing sideshow.

OTOH, she also isn't a bitch, cnut or any other equally immature name. She's just a silly, spoiled kid. She reminds me of new engineering graduates who start off as arrogant know-it-alls. I am sure that, like them, she'll settle down once she starts paying her own bills and working with people who don't think she is a special as she thinks she is.

quebecois NDPiste, you flatter yourself if you think we want you to stay. In fact, like the ROC, I think, if WE had a chance to vote on whether parasites (and maroons) like you get to stay, we’d vote you out. (Ou, si vous voulez, you may stay—but altogether on our terms.)

Smarten up, or, as far as I’m concerned, be gone—and jolly good riddance.

Re: "You better watch out cause if Layton is not elected PM in 4 years, I'll become separatist again." O.K. NDPist. We'll watch out. I am sure your being a separatist -- or not -- will have a major impact on Canadian politics. I am already quaking in my boots.

Another sore loser!! As my Dad used to say. She needs a good kick in the ass!

Well said...actual life is an equalizer.

The U.K. Labour leader Ed Miliband was pictured recently next to a young activist wearing a t-shirt which declared his intention to dance on Lady Thatcher's grave. This Senate page girl approaches that depravity - one doesn't like to put forward a counsel of despair, but perhaps a country that rejects majority rule, is ready for the dung-heap of history.

Notapat

...you got the part where the heroine had a press release ready...right?

Not Patricia - Not a "girl", a woman, and a university trained woman, who was given a job that many young women would die for. This is no Sarah Palin!

an insight into the sickness at the heart of your ideology... Again: you just won an election. A young girl holds up a sign and you call her a "cnut" and a "beeyotch" - filling this thread and another 100-comment thread with hatred for her.

That's merely the personal opinion of a relatively small group of Right Wing Nut Jobs who only know how to attack the people they dislike. They can't grasp the issues, but they know who they hate. It doesn't represent the majority opinion of the people who voted a Conservative majority government. Every ideology attracts a radical fringe, but we believe strongly enough in the freedom of speech to let them rant without muzzling them. Most of us conservatives don't take them seriously and no one else should either.

I see that the Leftist drones are wide awake early Monday morning! Yes, how absolutely terrible of us "Right Wing Nut Jobs" to care about DEMOCRACY and LAW & ORDER. How terrible of us!

You folks should start reading a little history, particularly the details of how Yugoslavia lost its civil democracy. Ditto wrt Germany in the early 1930's. You might then wake-up for the first time in your lives and realize that democracy is not something to be toyed with, free of any care of the repercussions.

A favourite quote of mine is in order: "The beautiful thing about being on the Left is never having to apologize."

P.S. I have a great idea for you: Why don't you recruit your hero, Michael Moore, to become leader of the Liberal Party in 2 years when Bob Rae's term is up!

The girl is misguided for sure....Ok, she had a stop sign placard that said "Stop Harper". How far away is that from a gun in her hand and "Stop Harper"....Just saying.....Where was security...I know she was a Page and trusted but I ask again, where was Security....All that was needed was a few less brain cells and a little more leftist fervor...Somebody in security should be held accountable...

Rick, you make an interesting point. Right after the election there was this. The anti-democracy, totalitarian thugs who prefer to be called "Progressives" said this was nothing.

Now the 21 year old twit has no problem thinking that her views are more important than millions upon millions of her fellow Canadians.

What's next? Whatever it is, through it all, the Leftards, such as the trolls we've seen above, will excuse it all as "just" and "noble" and "righteous". And yes, I fear that would include attacking a Conservative politician.

Such people are the dregs of our society, cockroaches who have been told over & over again that they no longer need to be accountable for their actions. This recent episode exemplifies that to the hilt!

the types here who revel in this sort of infantile hatred and the various forms it takes - sexism, racism, homophobia.

"Not Patricia" has every right to be as gay as he/she wants, however to assume that people who find that practice detestable are in any way afraid of faggots is just silly. Dont confuse fear i.e. -phobia, with disgust i.e. -misia. The correct term is homomisia. It's like dog-shit on my shoe, I might find it disgusting, but I'm certainly not aftraid of it. It washes off easily.

The PSAC would be wise to keep a close watch on this girl during her employment with them. She has not proven herself to be trustworthy or loyal. She appears to want to promote herself above all else-a huge red flapping flag.

PSAC may want to consider installing software at her workstation that alerts to the copying or forwarding of sensitive internal documents and monitors email/internet activity. Limit her usage of thumb/pen/usb drives. Check on her when she is using the photocopier. Also, items may go missing from the supply room. Give her a long probation period - at least 6 months. Don't leave her alone in the office. She will probably become bored before the 6 months is up anyway.

There seems to be some security questions.

How did she manage to get a sign into the chamber and undetected?

What else could she have gotten in there...?

Curious,

It looks pretty clear the sign had been folded up so I assume it was folded and stuffed undeneath her vest.

But fair question. If you look around at that picture you see how unaware anyone at the front is and you get some that are aware a little closer to her.

It is absolutley a position of trust and she broke it big time. I would have been equally upset if a "conservative" page had done someting similar under Martin or Chretien.

"Wow! You guys won an election and you're threatened by the non-violent civil disobedience of a young kid!" Notpatricia...

The same type of non-violent behavior as pouring ones Urine into the Senate Coffee Urn. I am not suggesting she did that, only that the act was similarly repulsive.... A betrayal of trust to the Canadian Senate. No hate!

Not Patricia: "But of course Harper has a history of playing up to the homophobes with his appearances at anti-gay marriage rallies ..."

Uh, what "anti-gay marriage rallies" would you be referring to? I'm not aware of any "anti-gay marriage rallies" having taken place in Canada or Prime Minister Harper's attendance at them.

You need to provide proof of this fantasy of yours. 'Only in your dreams ...? I thought so.

DePape represents an odious segment of our body politic, which mules and whines and has a tantrum because their side didn't win. She's continually lied about the Harper government's not having garnered "3/4s of the vote," on CBC, on CTV, etc., and she wasn't challenged.

Guess what, sweetie, Chretien's last majority government got only 39% of the vote. I didn't hear any squawks from like-minded twits. With five horses in the race, no party was likely to get over 50% of the vote. The Harper government won fair and square in the parliamentary system under which Canada operates.

'You have a problem, Mlle DePape and No Patricia? Then work hard to change it -- not with juvenile tactics like STOP HARPER signs at the Throne Speech, but with real grassroots pounding-the-pavement hard work. Oh. I get it. That's too hard. That will take too long. You want instant results.

'Thought so.
