Gerry Ritz, the federal minister of Agriculture and the Canadian Wheat Board says if the CWB establishment wants in then please come to the table now, don’t fold your tent and go home. That would be unfortunate.

Great interview by both Siemens and Ritz. Well worth the listen. Thanks Kate
With the wheat board gone, how are you rural conservative, welfare bum, freeloading farmers going to justify swilling from the trough from cradle to grave?
NO COMPROMISE!!!
Scrap the CWB ... or make it apply to Ontario, Quebec and US farmers. The choice is simple!
Fire all those parasitical bureaucrats
Phil .... FODE!
Allowing the farmers to sell their wheat to whom ever they want to can not come soon enough.
Phil: if you had a more moderate reasonable approach I would take the time to counter to some degree your opinion, but comparing producers to pigs makes that obviously a pointless exercise.
Phil, I just assume that we'll still be able to get in on the oil company subsidies that Layton says are being handed out. I mean now that we're no longer going to get the heavily subsidized cheques provided by the CWB.
It does almost make a guy feel sorry for all the government union employees whose backs will clearly carry this burden.
Hey, Gord, if the snout fits...
Closed minds are stunted simple minds...
Phil, any plans for getting rid of the unions that wreak havoc with the transportation system?
The trough you speak of is deepest in Quebec.
Phil "...freeloading farmers...".
Phil would like nothing more if all farmers were kicked of their land and forests planted in place of commercial crops. Because Phil thinks his tofu comes from a supermarket...
Gee Phil, I tried so hard to grasp the concept of your comment. If you called us redneck barefoot bible thumping hillbillies and moonshiners who marry our cousins it would have added clarification. You leftist socialist engineer types come to the countryside seem to prefer romancing outside the species. Y'all gotta stop that. It jest aint decent. Besides, it makes the hogs hard to ketch at butcherin time.
Phil? Phil Lindenbach, is that you? God I thought you were dead. What a relief to hear from you.
The CWB is no subsidy for western grain farmers. More like a tax, that goes to the 500 CWB employees and the lucky purchasers of our expropriated cheap grain.
The CWB won't play along because they know full well that without a captive cheap supply they can't make their own guaranteed margins.
phil; There you go yipping again.I've told you a dozen times to BUY A FARM,get in on the gravy train. Are you stupid? With free money like you say there is in farming then why work, you could finally leave your dear mommys basement and live the good life on the govt dole.Live the good life and never have to work,oh,I think that you are away ahead of me.
they ordered ships without so much as asking farmers opinion.
Must be driveing them bonkers to think the gravey train is about to end. plan was to fill the boats with gov. employees, top wages, top penisons and their pockets with farmers money.
oh ya, i forgot, throw in the odd stress cheque too.
maybe the little troll can help them out with a donation......as for me, i tired of it.
just checked the wheat price in north dakota.
14% protein $11.78 a bushel today.
berhold farmers elevator.
Faster Mr. Ritz
For anyone interested in the prices paid to Ontario producers, and wants to compare what is paid to Western producers, you will find the info at www.gfo.ca
Yes...FASTER Mr. Ritz!
Some good news:
Wayne Easter is no longer Liberal Ag. critic...he moves to International Trade.
Some bad news:
The new Liberal Ag. critic is Frank Valeriote, MP for Guelph...ya know that place where they have vote mobs on campus...
Phil; you need anger management, this communist dinosaur called the wheat board does not subsidize anything but themselves. If you are in the real world and do work Phil, how would you like to get 30% of your pay on July 31, wait till January for a little more and in roughly 12 more months you will get the rest which is 40% less than your American cousin the farmer. Phil, you are just stupid.
"Phil, you are just stupid"
I don't think you'll get an argument there.
It would be nice if everyone would simply resist the urge to hand him a verbal beating when he posts nonsense.
Debating with Phil is comparable to discussing the pros and cons of the designated hitter rule with the family dog.
What biffjr. said. Folks hereabouts rise to take the troll bait far too often.
...certainly there's a role for them, if they're as great at marketing internationally as they say they are...
Hee, hee, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
WTF
this communist dinosaur called the wheat board does not subsidize anything but themselves
Never said it did. But farmers ARE subsidized...heavily. The only time rural welfare bums stop whining is when they have their mugs buried in the public trough.
And they use two lies, primarily, to justify their parasitic, cradle to grave entitlement to their entitlements:
The cheap food policy, food being not at all cheap and there being no extant policy.
And the CWB.
Now with the CWB going, going, gone, my question is why aren't all of you chest thumping free enterprisers calling for the elimination of subsidies at the same time., to relieve that onerous burden from the beleaguered taxpayer.
But then you'd have to practice what you preach, an exercise in Sisyphaen futility for the small dead teabaggin' mind.
Sorry for feeding the troll, but the farmers who've been subjected to the CWB are NOT the ones who are heavily subsidized. The CWB in no way resembles supply management.
Just rained out again after working 90 hours in the last 5 days. Good night.
Phil - I have long banned Phil from my website, only to find him here. Thanks for posting my interview with Gerry Ritz. The NDP government in Manitoba is blaming hog farmers for polluting Lake Winnipeg. Karl Kynoch, chair of the Manitoba Pork Council says that is smear tactics and vote mongering. http://www.siemenssays.com/blog/4602.html
Say Phil, on the prairies today there are about 1 quarter of the farms that we had in 1943 when grain marketing was taken over by the CWB as a war time measure. Why have we lost so many of those "heavily subsidized" farms? If farming has been a licence to print money why have so many quit? Socialism begats decline; works every time.

Technological advances? Not a lot of buggy whip operations around these days. How many acres are in production compared to '43?
If farming has been a licence to print money ...
Never said it was, but it costs a Sask. family of four over $2500.00 a year to keep whining plough jockeys like Banchek down on the farm and I'm not talking supply management.
Socialism begats decline
So why do you and your little dead mind fellow travelers support socialism?
"it costs a Sask. family of four over $2500.00 a year to keep whining plough jockeys like Banchek down on the farm"
Well Phil, please show your work. I'm all eyes. Are you talking about about the break a farmer receives on his fuel for field work or the break a farmer receives on his SGI truck licence. Please inform. By the way I misspelled beget.
