7. And Mathews comments about the US dollar being replaced by an unknown currency needs to be replayed many, many times over when the not-so-secret AMERO is unveiled, replacing the Canadian/US/Mexican currencies and rolling them into one.
   The papers are signed, sealed and all they are waiting for is the delivery.
   Chris Mathews should do some investigative work and stop reading the same teleprompter like his boss, the POTUS!

11. Well, as much as I think Matthews is an idiot, I can forgivbe him for an inadvertent misstatement. He later corrected it to “Suez”.
    My guess is that staffers hurredly scribbled “Suez Canal” on a piece of paper and, off camera, held it up for him.

13. You see when Matthews says things like the Panama Canal is in Egypt, he has merely misspoken. When Sara Palin is being impersonated by Tina Fey on SNL who says “I can see Russia from my house” it is proof she is a moron.

    Bruce has it right, it appears to be an error. I couldn’t hate Matthews any more than I do without being charged with a hate crime, but I doubt he thinks the Panama Canal is in Egypt.
    Making a deal out of it is exactly what they do to Sarah and Michelle. I don’t know that I would go that level for a laugh.
    The left does enough to embarrass itself without including their oral gaffes.

18. Let me prove my point. Here is a thought from the number two man in the country.
    “Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is not a dictator and shouldn’t step aside in the face of mounting protests against his nearly 30-year rule.”
    That was not a gaffe, that was pure incompetence and stupidity. Joe is also gaffe prone, but no one seems to care much about that.

20. Obviously Chris Matthews does not know much about the Founding Fathers and the laws about slavery, in the late 1700s. Selling people was a racket in those days – before farmers and manufacturers had machinery – the Russians had serfs, the British/Northern States of America had indentured servants and African slaves. Mary Lincoln owned slaves as did Mr. Grant’s wife.
    African rulers had slaves and they sold them to European slavers. The Spanish/British/French/Dutch/Portuguese imported African slaves to work in their ‘colonies’. The Founding Fathers were up against a coalition of pro slave foreign countries. Chris and many other feeble minded people cannot comprehend living in any time period but 2011.

    Bachmann was delivering a long speech. She slipped a little (although she doesn’t in fact refer to John Quincy Adams as a “Founding Father”; she calls him one of “our forebears”,) but does anyone really think she believes that Thomas Jefferson fought in the Civil War or something? Her meaning, that the Founders intended the abolition of slavery, is perfectly clear.

26. Black Mamba – of course she( Michell Bachmann) did -you have a long attention span – MATTHEWS DOES NOT – he has the attention span of a spoiled two year old waiting for an ice cream cone. He is one nasty piece of work; I wonder if he knows how he smears himself with his own spewing? A regular person feels sick and dirty after watching him.
    Nobody has asked him how he ‘feels’ about the slave women in the Middle East. He never mentions them. Would we get the same gallon of vitriol for those poor souls? Slavery in the gulags of the Soviet Union, slaves in China…the guy has plenty of fodder but he never mentions the egregious practise anywhere but in pre Civil War American South. Selective facts.
