Why Does the Left Hate Sarah Palin So Much?

Evan Sayet, arguably most famous for this video, has a new piece out entitled Why the Left Hates Sarah Palin.
Incidentally, the feelings of many on the Left towards Palin is clearly not just mere dislike but absolutely is hatred. If she were African American, what would be a good term to describe those with such feelings?

Update #1: An interesting take on the recent outburst of hatred towards Palin comes from Dana Loesch, a radio talkshow host out of St. Louis, whose show is also simulcast in Indianapolis.
Update #2: Here’s the full clip of Sarah Palin talking with Sean Hannity last night.    h/t ‘G’

  1. The simple answer is Sarah hate the Right too or she said something to made Right angry not open more facts about their problems and solution for it. They confuse each other and turn it to political game to seek profit of each nation
    Right vs. Left
Even the road is clear if we plan to go to certain distance location if you choose right way or if you choose left way you can not get and meet the same point you go far from each other
    Left…….Right
They are meeting any mathematical point of view together
Unless in future Right and Left kind of business turn to one business for all people benefit not only simple business
Even two parallel line has not similarity to join and enjoy communicate with each other
Plus Right and Left both are employees who are working for people and citizen of country such as Canada when you talk back to each other there is limited you can go too when you are in power you also has limit to work more or less
Liberal and NDP and conservative are paid from tax payer to look for benefit all people and different religion nationality or where they come from not look for their own minority friend to give each other business and ignore the rest of people
Unfortunately history showed people when they come to power they forgot all people and they focus to made this turn to business and money making for time of their retirement.

  2. Excellent article. It’s one thing for the self-elected Elite Class to do everything in their power to destroy Sarah Palin. What I don’t understand is the regular liberal on the street who so cavalierly throw’s the word “hate” around, especially as it pertains to a person like Sarah.
If Sarah was a neighbor, relative, or close friend, surely even a liberal (not an Elite Liberal, but simply a self identified liberal voter) would admire such a person, and that person’s accomplishments. On the face of it, the Palin family story is nothing if not an American success.
But, when it’s somebody in the political realm, a political opponent, all critical thought goes out the window, and rank and file liberals swallow the Palin-as-stupid meme. For the Elites that perpetuate the meme, it’s as easy as throwing dynamite in a barrel of fish — the fish being the rank and file liberals. Advance the narrative from the usual sources, and they know 99.99% of liberal supporters will uncritically accept it.
Like schools of fish, liberals move in unison. It’s a remarkable (even if pathetic) trait that underscores an interesting irony: the fact that liberals consider themselves the intellectual superiors, while at the same time following a herd mentality.

  3. I think the left’s hatred of Palin is irrational, and counterproductive. I personally am of the right of center and find Palin a bit of a ditz, but anyone who can bring such rage out of the likes of Keith Olbermann and all the other slavering idiots on the left is going to be encouraged. Frankly, on her worst day she still is smarter than half of her detractors on the left…..
That said, please GOP, don’t make this your presidential candidate…you can do better.

  4. As a Manitoban, I have no say in U.S. politics, and as a Canadian, I have never voted for the same party twice in a row. I value ideas and fortitude in my politicians, and am preferential to respect and dignity. Having watched how Sarah Palin has been savagely attacked in the media over the last two years, and has held her ground with aplomb and intestinal fortitude, I have to say I admire her character. if she were a hockey player, she would work the corners, get the assists, and win the Lady Byng for most gentlemanly player. As a parent of three children, school teacher and health care worker, I know the responsibilities of Down’s Syndrome and anyone who willingly takes on a task like that is someone who is owed respect and courtesy. Maybe she isn’t the brightest, maybe you do not agree with all her views, but is it not time to admit this girl has grit and could make a real contribution to the country of the United States. Obama has his detractors, as had Bush, Gore, Clinton, Ford, Carter, etc; but one thing I always thought Americans appreciated was self motivated, hardworking, caring people with heart, so why do they continue to denigrate a woman who should be a role model? As I said, I am an outsider to the political scene, but having followed politics daily for the last forty years, this is a bit of a head scratcher.

  5. Haven’t watched Sayet yet (I will) but my take on why the Left hate Palin: because she is a Bible believing Christian, loves her hubby, is pro-family and pro-life. The salt on their wounds: she is successful. In their small minds women who espouse to those values are at home, barefoot, and pregnant ‘cuz the guy oppresses them.

  6. One question I would like to ask liberals. If Sarah Palin was everything you claim she is, why would you even bother talking about her? If she is stupid, racist, inexperienced, unelectable, wrong in every way, then she has not, cannot and will not do any harm to the Left.
She has been mayor of a small town in Alaska and Governor for a short time. She was part of a rather ineffective Republican presidental campaign. She has done no true harm to Left and if she is ‘unelectable’, she can do no harm in the future. So why would you care about her one way or another?

  7. Conservative blacks are often referred to as “Uncle Toms”, “porch niggers”, and other savory terms. Thomas Sowell, the well known economist with the unfortunate first name, is regularly called such things.
But since such epithets come from the left they do not, of course, constitute hate speech.

  8. Women and black conservatives have a particularly heavy burden to carry, for many progressives do not consider them just opponents but traitors.
They are expected to be thankful for all that the left has done for them, and being conservative is taken as an ungrateful slap in the face.

  9. The left hate her because she’s normal, she’s not a rich snotty elite marxists arsehole like the left’s heros. The one true thang the left FEAR is normalacy, they fear common sense, ethics and morals the thought of a decent society where abnormal behavior isn’t tolerated scares the crap out of the left.

  10. JB1000 – exactly. But Sarah Palin stepped out of bounds. The left is above all, a class-based ideology.
There are two classes for the left; the elite and the masses. The elite do not work ‘in the market’; that is, just as in the 18th c, the elite aren’t in trade, or small business or in the private sector.
They are, like the 18th c landowners, the class of the government. They are the academics, the civil service, the bureaucrats, the lawyers, the professors. They consider that they alone have the wisdom and expertise and thus, are Rulers.
The masses – those people not employed by government or academia or the professions – but in private business etc – are deemed ignorant, uncouth and must be ruled.
Sarah Palin is viewed by the Left Rulers as a member of this lower class. She does things that are unacceptable behaviour: she has a large family; she has a Down’s syndrome child when any leftist would have undergone an abortion; she’s against abortion; she’s pro-family; she hunts and fishes and not for sport but for food; she shoots – and not for sport but for food;….she is, to them, low class.
And she dares, she has the arrogance…to move into the political realm (the realm of the left) and seek to govern. The left is apocalyptic over this; how dare she not acknowledge her low class – and remain ‘out in Alaska’. The nerve of her thinking she could ‘come to Washington’.
Is she dumb? No way; she is bright and capable. In fact, I consider that she’s far brighter than Obama – who is intellectually barren. BUT, Obama is a member of that elite class – by his Harvard background, by his parent’s socialist activities. So, he can say incredibly stupid things – and get away with it. Because he’s a member of their club.
The left, elitist, class-based, hates Sarah Palin just as they hate the Tea Party people – because they are members of the ‘lower class’ and they have actually dared to confront the elite.

  11. Sarah Palin accumulates detractors from different parts of the spectrum, it’s not just one kind of hate. Members of an educated elite tend to hate all Christian conservatives, it’s not just Sarah Palin, if there were any chance of Mike Huckabee being the nominee, it would fall on him equally.
Others hate her for being a strong woman in a man’s game, so she picks up a similar negative crowd as Hillary Clinton in that regard.
Still others hate her for being from the far west and thinking she can handle important tasks, this can enrage people in the eastern time zone who think all important decisions should be made there by them (same applies to Canada).
I remember all of this being the case with Ronald Reagan too, with Hollywood actor being the substitute for woman in politics. Otherwise he picked up a lot of unfocused hatred that I think he partially overcame while in office as a competent president (at the very least). You don’t hear the sorts of things about Ronald Reagan after the fact that you used to hear in the early part of his first term (despite these rather overblown whispers about Alzheimers, but let’s face it, Obama with all his mental faculties isn’t half the president that Reagan was towards the end of his second term).
Another reason some hate Sarah Palin — she’s smokin’ hot and every woman voter knows it.

  12. The Left hates Sarah Palin because she’s bold, she’s beautiful, she’s not intimidated by their faux-intellectualism, she’s “normal” (God forbid!), and she’s right — in every sense of the word!
Their hatred of her, which is so vile, tells us everything we need to know about them and nothing about Sarah Palin, herself.
The only good thing about their extreme antithesis to her, is that they’re exposing their true colours which are very dark, indeed.

  13. The left, elitist, class-based, hates Sarah Palin just as they hate the Tea Party people – because they are members of the ‘lower class’ and they have actually dared to confront the elite.
This is also why she is hated by establishment RINO’s. She is not a member of the elite, and therefore according to this logic will never be fit to lead irregardless of qualifications. Now if she had been born a Kennedy and had the intellect of Caroline, you know, then we’d be talking.

  14. jb1000 “One question I would like to ask liberals. If Sarah Palin was everything you claim she is, why would you even bother talking about her? If she is stupid, racist, inexperienced, unelectable, wrong in every way, then she has not, cannot and will not do any harm to the Left.
You greatly underestimate the Left. They keep talking about her because they want her at the forefront of the GOP.
As long as Palin keeps the nations attention as some sort of Republican figurehead, heaven forbid she attempts to run for President Nominee, the Democrats win, as she is the least electable candidate in the Republican wings.
I’m sure she would be fun to hang out with at the rink, but as president she would be a disaster, and most Americans know that.

  15. ET,is it that the Left are simply people with arrested development, and they can’t feel adult emotions,so they go to extremes.
They either HATE, or LOVE someone, no maturity in their emotions.
They can’t “like” Sarah Palin,so they “hate” her, they can’t “like ” Obama,so they “love” him.
    Just a bunch of teeny-boppers.

  16. I don’t think that Sarah Palin is presidential material; there is, however, a place for her in the Republican arsenal (can I use that word anymore?).
OTOH, she might be just as happy taking a pass at elected office, which really takes a toll on the individual and their family — and she’s been there, done that. She might be just as happy remaining as a private citizen, being part of a Republican think tank, writing books, columns, etc. With five kids, and her youngest being challenged, she might want to spend more time with her family than elected office would allow.
If so, all the more power to her. She’s great! She’s strong and principled and has a lot of common sense. IOW, she’ll be an asset wherever she decides to hang her hat.

  17. ET, you’re starting to really sell me on the idea of the two-class system on the Left … well, 3-class if we’re more precise:
    – Leftist Elites
    – Leftist Followers
    – Conservatives (evil, dumb, etc.)
I still do think that the Elites have sold the idea of Absolute Equality to their peasant followers though.
I’m going to try to call into Dennis Prager’s show one day and see if he’d be open to accepting your amendment to his theory of How the Left Think.

  18. Sorry, but I’m going to have to be the only conservative here who doesn’t really like Sarah Palin. She gets more credit than she deserves. The difference between me, and a leftist, is I don’t hate her. I just have the opinion that she’s not a good choice for higher office. I could be wrong, and won’t lose my mind if she gets elected.

  19. Hasn’t anyone seen the ugly face of urban bigotry before? Amongst other things how on earth could any urbanite appreciate a hick like Palin. Not only does she not seek to be an urbanite she revels in her hickness. What’s more the hick wants the ruin the chic by imposing hickness on the chic.

  20. Good article. Its true the left will never forgive her for not killing her in tier minds defective child. You see, eugenics is part of the liberal soul. As is death worship except for maniacs , child killers or serial killers. Who are all misunderstood being criminals not by nature, but by the middle class society.
That being the case we are the true monsters, them the innocents.
    JMO

  21. Coach, my own views lie pretty close to those of Mark. But there’s a BIG DIFFERENCE between not supporting a political candidate and downright H-A-T-I-N-G them. If you ever do encounter a Leftist one-on-one, they’ll probably admonish you for asking why they hate Palin, saying that they don’t hate anyone. But their constant stream of words leads one to suspect a far darker truth.

  22. There are two classes for the left; the elite and the masses. The elite do not work ‘in the market
    – ET.
BINGO, except I wouldn’t limit it to “the left”.
That ties is beautfully with Albert Jay Nock’s thesis in Our Enemy, the State. According to Openheimer, from whom he borrowed and developed his thesis, there are two and only two ways to make a living: production or predation, viz., the economic means, the political means, respectively. Openheimer (Nock) defines the State as the “organization of the political means” which has got to be the most amazingly cryptic and true definition ever.
I found Nock’s book a mind-bending experience (I read it early last year, and Openheimer’s difficult The State after). It has been an important milestone on my long libertarian journey and the clincher in making me very doubtful of the wisdom of US foreign policy. It has also made me extremely cynical about partisan politics (as in, it doesn’t matter!).
ET, have you tackled either of these books? I would be extremely interested in your take.

  23. Most of you are missing the point.
They hate her because they see her as a threat.
The United States has occasionally had presidents who were outside the chatteratti. They include Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. None of them had any use for the political and intellectual elite in New York, Boston and Washington. And all of them were loathed.
What made the conflict particularly strong was that all had a strong appeal to the voter on the street, not to corporate, bureaucratic or ivory tower America. Nothing bothers these people more than the thought that a public figure has strong popular appeal independent of the big party machines.
There is nothing that the elite hates more than populism. And since the elite in the US today is predominantly left wing, whereas a century ago it was right wing, it hates right wing populism with a passion, just as in the 19th C it hated Jacksonian Democrats. This kind of vilification has often been attached to strong populists. At the turn of the last century, William Jennings Bryan attracted it in spades.
Sarah Palin draws the lightning because she is seen correctly as the emotional heart of the right wing today. It doesn’t matter who the Presidential candidate for the Republicans is; if Palin comes out to campaign in 2012, the Left is terrified that she will be even more successful in getting out voters than Obama was in 2009. After all, she only had about five months to work on this in the last election. And even with that short a campaigning life as the VP candidate, she managed to turn a lost cause into a real campaign.
Whatever Obama is by contrast, he’s not a populist. He learned his machine politics in Chicago.
There’s a growing sense on the Left that Obama doesn’t quite cut the mustard. The last time that the Left had a weak President in office the result was 12 years of Republicans in the White House. With Palin trying on Reagan’s shoes, any formation of a new coalition of Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats would mean as long and unpleasant a decade to come for the Left as the 1980s.
She could be a Harvard graduate and it wouldn’t matter. She terrifies the Left spitless.

  24. Robert @ 5:12
I think it’s been tried before in that manner. I think it was broken down as: oligarchs, citizens, and helots. Which do you think would correspond to which?

  25. Too the first comment by Okay.
I really don’t know what to say, so I will just smile and nod with an empty look in my eyes.

  26. The left hates Sarah Palin because she in more perfect communication with the American people than any other politician, and she opposes them to the last ditch.
Sarah Palin is a ditz? With one perfectly timed comment on Obama’s death panels, she coined a new phrase, and forced the Democrat’s to eject the death panel provision from their bill. Of course, Obama tried to re-institute this by regulatory fiat, but her one comment nearly derailed the entire bill.
Sarah Palin is stupid? If only.

  27. Bob @ 5:51pm – I concur entirely but s/he didn’t actually say anything offensive, just extremely confusing!
I’ll never forget the time when someone with similar English & logic skills came on here to SDA and tried to have an intellectual battle with ‘ET’. It was both funny & brutal.

  28. robert w – no, it’s really two classes; not three class.
The upper class is made up of the ‘hereditary elite’, that set of people in academic, professions, lawyers, govt figures. These are the elite; they govern and rule.
Then, there is the sub-upper class: their ‘aides’: the bureaucrats..the civil service, the staff of the universities, health care, govt offices, MSM etc. [This whole set would be your leftist elites and leftist followers.]
The lower class is made up of the people in private business, small business, private employees, agriculture, the market etc.
The difference is economic: the upper class is funded primarily by govt funds; the ‘lower class’ is either in private business or is dependent on govt subsidies (welfare, social services etc).
There is NO middle class in this societal system.
However, in a genuine three class society, the class system is different. The upper class is reduced in size and power; it becomes symbolic and without power- royal families. The lower class is also reduced in size; it refers only to those people who for some reason cannot be productive members of the society.
The middle class becomes economically, politically and legally, the dominant class. It is a unique class that is made up of a meritocracy. You exist in this class because of your own private work in making a success of yourself. You can move in and move out of this class!
The existence of a middle class requires a democratic political system – for the middle class, the largest class, must have political power along with its self-made econmic power.
The two-class structure rejects democracy; you can see how the left rejects democracy! They insist on rule-by-decree (shades of Obama!).
me no dhimmi -no, I haven’t read either book. Will try to do so.
Also, I agree with those who suggest that Palin should NOT be a candidate for president. I still haven’t fully figured out my reasons; I’m going by intuition. I know that it’s got nothing to do with experience or intelligence for she’s miles above Obama. It has to do with confinement! I feel that her role is to be a voice for all Americans – not just the GOP – a voice for freedom, common sense, down-to-earth perspective. Being either a candidate or a president would actually hinder that freedom and those ties.

  29. How dare a self-made woman enjoy her success or strive for something higher?! What is this? Did we lose a war or something?
But seriously, one aspect of this atrocious war on Mrs. Palin is how we have abandoned meritocracy for absolute rubbish. There are still people unashamed of their schoolgirl crushes for Obama, an affluent yet useless man. He’s led an entire country down the garden path while millions are out of work. Do they want more of this? Is Mrs. Palin so socially and politically unpalatable that the electorate would rather choose him (who is currently licking Hu Jintao’s boots)?

  30. I am convinced ET nails it.
The instant tantrum of the lefties and the GOP elite’s attempts to muzzle her in that disaster of a campaign are evidence.
It seemed the GOP elites were more concerned with side-lineing Palin than running a winning campaign.
The political elites from both sides of the aisle attacked Palin. It was not strictly a democRAT attack….
Coach you fool no-one….except your fellow lefties…..Anytime a commenter starts off declaring his right/left alignment….inevitably the commenter declares he is a rightly then spews from the lefty script…..every F***ing time.

  31. The left hate Sarah Palin for all the reasons Sayat stated and that is a fact. But, I think it goes much deeper than that: They hate Sarah Palin for the same reasons they hated Ronald Reagan: He could communicate TO the people. He did not need a filter. The left always must provide the filter for dialog for in that they can maintain control.
Just listen to all those folks to profess to ‘hate’ Sarah Palin. They have NO clue who she is , what she is, how capable she is , they listen to the liberal filter all the time and have allowed that to make up their ‘minds’ for them. They think no further than the end of their noses and spout platitudes they think will make them popular with their peers.
Not one iota of individual thinking, either in the masses that are spoonfed the left line every day , everywhere.
And people wonder why this world is in such trouble.
We need the adults of this world to be the ones running it. Obama and his ilk have no business on the tillers of power nor do those thugs and murderers who make up the majority of the UN these days.
As known of old on the ole Mississippi, it takes a great navigator. A wise and knowing captain to achieve and maintain ‘Mark Twain’
This is what is needed and Sarah Palin is more capable than any politician since Ronald Reagan to achieve what is needed in the US and around the world.
IF we do not stop the nonsense that is left and liberal thinking we are bound to repeat the ruinous paths of the past. We are on a war footing that will devastate not millions but billions.
We need to tread very carefully regarding China.
Mr. Obama is being toyed with because they can.
They would not dare with a Palin. People do not toy with those who mean business.

  32. Great article and I had not seen the vid before either. Thanks for that Robert.
Another factor or maybe an offshoot (oh oh, I said shoot….) for the left’s hatred of this lady is feminism. Gov Palin puts the entire premise at risk.
She is happily married, mother to a small herd of apparently normal middle class kids, successful in the endevors she takes on and the worst of, conservative.
Not John McCain or Stephen Harper pretending to be conservative, but an actual conservative. It is blindingly obvious that her conservative values, both fiscal and social, guide her almost every move. There is no lip service to her stated values, there is only adherance to them.
AND let’s not forget another reason that many, on both sides will not mention, but hits ya over the head everytime. She is a true beauty. The left, in particular, REALLY hate that, but not even under waterboarding would they admit it.

  33. Reasons the left gates Sarah …
    Fear
    Envy
    Ignorance
    Brain-washing
    Emotional disorders
Those are the dominant characteristics of a true leftist.
Sarah is a high achiever the puts her at odds with the unionist, leftist mindset.
Sarah is very good looking and that puts her at odds with the average Leftist hag.
Sarah is a woman and that puts her at odds with the old boy, Muslims and mysogynists.
Sarah is hetrosexual and that puts her at odds with the gay and lesbian movement.
Sarah is white and that puts her at odds with the black community.
Sarah did not attend an elite university so she is at odds with the elitists.
Sarah is a practicing Christian so that puts her at odds with the Atheists and Muslims.
In short, Sarah is everything one might aspire to be, but not be able to achieve so she is also at odds with low self-esteem crowd.
Sarah speaks plain folksy English and that drives the double talking, new-speak government gang crazy along with the main stream media.
So you can see there is lot to hate and lot of haters to take up the ugly practice.

  34. When I see and hear Sarah Palin, my comparison moves towards President Harry S. Truman. Surely one of the five most effective American Presidents.
He also fought corruption in a pragmatic and honourable manner and the political elites of the day dismissed his effectiveness and questioned his effectiveness.
Should Sarah Palin run for President? Absolutely! I do not understand the kneejerk acceptance of the persistent message of Sarah Palin lacking intelligence. The faint praise approach by some of the commenters here who then, without any examples of proof, state she is “stupid”.
    It is either their own lack of intelligence or integrity which comes to my mind when I read their inconsistent perambles. Cheers;

  35. Sorry that should have read … but I’ll bet you knew that.
Reasons the left HATES Sarah …

  36. coach @ 5:16 p.m.: “I just have the opinion that she’s not a good choice for higher office.”
I guess you didn’t read my post @ 5:10 p.m., where I said, “I don’t think that Sarah Palin is presidential material; there is, however, a place for her in the Republican arsenal (can I use that word anymore?).”
cgh, I agree with you that Sarah Palin scares the leftist elites spitless, the reason being, as small c conservative points out: ” … she [is] in more perfect communication with the American people than any other politician, and she opposes them to the last ditch.”
She’s as normal as apple pie and the Left know this. They laud the lewd, the decadent, the experimental, and can’t stand the fact that this very attractive — hey, gorgeous! — athletic, common-sense, once-married, motherly newcomer is showing up their agenda for what it is: total crap and very destructive to the American spirit.

  37. “I just have the opinion that she’s not a good choice for higher office.”
“I don’t think that Sarah Palin is presidential material”
“but as president she would be a disaster, and most Americans know that.”
“I agree with those who suggest that Palin should NOT be a candidate for president.” [ET was kind enough to admit she can’t really defend this perspective]
Variations of these statements have been made all over the place, but I have yet to see one cogent argument as to why any of these should be true. There is nothing is Palin’s public persona, or private, as far as its known, that disqualifies her as being incapable of being of good president. There are no qualifications beyond getting elected for being president of the United States. And the more public experience and exposure Sarah Palin gets, the more she grows, and the more she grows in this capacity, the better she becomes at being able to handle the job if she gets it. It is clearly apparent to those who can recognize the signs, that Palin is definitely growing in public maturity and statesmenship.
Palin as president would not be about her personal abilities – it will be entirely dependent on whether she is able to assemble a competent, loyal and earnest support team once in office, and THAT is the part that is in greatest doubt. There is so little competence in the beltway on both sides, nobody may be able to work the office with distinction.

  38. Left-liberalism = hate = Islam = left-liberalism = hate >>>>>
Leftists of the Liberal-socialist RaeIggy ilk, not to mention Taliban Jack LayoNDP, are natural allies/buddies of Islam.
    Da proof*?
    “*left-wing and Islamic activists”.
“*A SYDNEY artist whose anti-burka mural has infuriated left-wing and Islamic activists”.
“*A SYDNEY artist whose anti-burka mural has infuriated left-wing and Islamic activists is vowing that the provocative artwork will stay in place despite death threats, abuse, a string of vandalism attacks, a violent weekend protest and a police request to remove it.”
A SYDNEY artist whose anti-burka mural has infuriated left-wing and Islamic activists is vowing that the provocative artwork will stay in place despite death threats, abuse, a string of vandalism attacks, a violent weekend protest and a police request to remove it.
Newtown glass sculptor Sergio Redegalli has this week restored the mural painted outside his studio for more than the 40th time after dozens of graffiti and paint-bomb attacks by protesters who say it is racist and inflammatory.
In the latest incident last Sunday, a crowd of 50 activists hurled paint at the mural and then turned on police who had to call in reinforcements to restore order.
Seven men were arrested and charged with offences including resisting police, assaulting police and destroying or damaging property.
The charges will be heard in Newtown Local Court next month. Redegalli blames local left-wing groups, rather than Muslim activists, for the incident.
The sculptor, who is a well-known figure in inner-suburban Newtown, says he has since been visited by local police who asked him to take down the mural after learning of a threat to fire-bomb it.”

  39. This woman has looks and brains, loves hunting and fishing, has a thick hide, firmly believes in drilling for oil, and has confidence in herself. As for the limp MSM and RINO gang, she’s their biggest threat. Who knows if she’ll ever make it as POTUS – she’s made her mark already. You go girl!

  40. Of course the left wants to harm to Palin….they sense a threat….maybe they read Margret Thatcher’s book….for those that can read…the rest just sense danger to their party…she is not part of the meally mouthed politic’s….she can’t be controlled…they have more than a mild case of heartburn….Go Palin…GO

  41. I also don’t think she’s presidential material, but I do think the next POTUS should put her in charge of a portfolio that includes both the environment and oil exploration (at the risk of reducing the volume of Canada’s oil exports to the USA). Maybe she can oversee a congressional hearing (or whatever) that looks into the AGW scam.
And I just love the way leftie heads explode at the mention of her name or the sight of her hair and her fit, well-dressed figure. She is the antithesis of every bankrupt leftie cause of the past forty years. And that’s why they are behaving like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.

  42. Is it this simple?
Those who hate Palin are usually those who are influenced by the ‘Lamestream Media’. (I would venture to say almost without exception.)
And the Lamestream Media hates Palin because she is exposing their bullsh!t.
And since the Arizona shooting, the Lamestream Media is now in a feeding frenzy of Palin hate.
Why a frenzy? Because she exposed the real inner feelings of the Lamestream Media – by just sitting in her living room and watching them self destruct.
    Am I wrong?

  43. Common, prevalent street opinion;
    – politicians are only in it for themselves
    – media twists and torques the news
    – intellectuals can be the dumbest of people
    – celebrities are just well known, rich flakes
    – the justice system so weird
The ruling elites make up a small percentage of the total population but wield power out of all proportions to their numbers.
The Elites are now scared stiff with hate because Palin, along with the Internet, may end their centuries long rule by simply inducing the other 80% of the population to see the real picture – not the one they see on TV every night.
    Am I wrong?

  44. If I may;
I’d like to re post something I put in readers tips last night.
Sean Hannity’s Exclusive Interview With Governor Palin
    via Conservatives 4 Palin

    and at Real Clear Politics;
“While I disagree with her and I am prepared to oppose her politically, in the spirit of longed-for civility I say, Ms. Palin you are in a certain sense an example of the American dream: You have the courage to stand up and present your vision of America to its people. Your strength and lack of fear make America stronger and are examples to be emulated by girls and boys, men and women who are themselves afraid to speak up. You provide the example that they need for self-assurance.
Ed Koch is the former Mayor of New York City.”

Ed Koch is no fan of Palin . If you read the article, he goes to great lengths describing why his attitude to Palin is so.
The feeding frenzy on Palin is because the elites KNOW their time is up and America is at a crossroads.
For Koch to put that last paragraph in that article is proof positive that leftist heads are exploding.
Watch the Hannity interview where she talks about death threats on her kids. She will not sit down and shut up. Her policy statements on so much of what is destroying America keep coming out to be the truth.
The Left in America got taken completely off guard with her emergence onto the national stage in 08.The Left just couldn’t be wrong about anything since for years they controlled the script of political discourse in the US .
I blame Bush for that. Taking the high road of moral equivalence in not trashing the left got us to where we are now. That is a completely left leaning press and acadamia that is “entitled to their “time”.
The only reason the left have targeted her so relentlessly is because of the magnitude of their mistake in not seeing her coming. She was /is the total antithesis of not just Pellosi,,, but of Michelle “only now have I been proud to be an American” Oblameya.
Palin will not shut up as to calling this current regime a mistake for not allowing American exeptionalism to thrive.
The Lame Stream Media are caught in a conundrum. They feed this hate rhetoric against her because it’s not just the “elitist” thing to do, but they make money off of it. It’s showtime!
Whats insane is the money she’s making because of people driven to support her due to this relentless scrutiny.
The Dems are losing the independents in droves. Their not going third party.
If she throws her hat in the ring for the 2012 she’s got the presidency. The GOP wont like it because it won’t be business as usual. (earmarks come to mind)

  45. “She is a true beauty. The left, in particular, REALLY hate that”
I think that AtlanticJim has hit the nail squarely on the head.
Sure, the left and its media minions despise and fear Palin because she represents everything that is foreign to them. But I think we tend to give the left too much credit in this regard. Those on the left are so shallow, so self-absorbed that Palin being drop-dead gorgeous pushes the feelings of fear, inadequacy and spite into the realm of outright hatred.
Female politicians should be the complete opposite of Palin. They should be obnoxious, shrill, rude and grotesque. Kinda sounds like the leader of a certain Canadian fringe political party, doesn’t it?
Does anyone honestly think that, if Elizabeth May held all the beliefs of Sarah Palin, lived Palin’s lifestyle and was a devote rightwinger, that she would be a target of the hate-filled left?
