  2. Kathy is right again, there did appear to be a lot of immigrant votes for Ford. I once took the time to explain to a Chinese fellow the advantages of his voting Conservative, and I convinced him that, despite what liberals and Liberals and socialists told him, Conservatives and he had far more in common than he thought. To this day he is glad he did, and the sophistication among the immigrant population as regards politics in North America is beginning to take hold. Let the whining on the Left continue!

  6. I love it when the political class experiences reality first hand. Interestingly the MSM polls predicted this election to be very close. So one wonders, is it the MSM fudging the numbers or are people giving one answer to the pollsters and then voting differently? Hopefully PMSH isn’t seen as a member of the political class at this time although he seems to be doing his best to join it.
    The only concern I have is about all of the socialist parasites who are threatening to leave TO now that Ford is mayor. The only place in Canada that they would feel comfortable in is Vancouver and we’re way over our moonbat quota in that city. I suggest we try to get them to go south — run ads on TV extolling the benefits of hope and change and how illegal immigrants are welcome in the US. Maybe it would get some of the Vancouver moonbats to pack up and leave also.

    What snow removal? I live and drive in downtown Toronto, and Moron Miller did a lousy job of having snow ploughed and removed.
    I did once walk through his High Park ‘hood, however, and found that roads were closed with four Toronto City vehicles “in attendance” to close off the section of street the backhoe was ploughing and to put the ice and snow buildup in a dump truck. ‘Wonder what that cost the taxpayers? I’m sure Miller’s neighbours thought he was a swell guy and voted for his man this time.

  9. Pretty much 52% of Ford’s supporters were born outside of Canada – tons more than for Smitherman. I have a dyed in the wool socialist pal and am very much looking forward to using the “…and you thought multiculturalism just ment more pavillions at Folkfest” line on him lol.

    I’m always disheartened at how many “conservatives” vote over and over again for the Progressive parties based on identity politics. This is why I’m constantly harping on the fact that conservatives get hammered when it comes to message. That said, when Republicans spend like Democrats and Conservatives spend like Liberals, it’s hard to blame them for taking the identity side. Or not.

    So, immigrants are biting the hand that has fed them, lo these many years? ‘Can’t say I’m crying any tears for the leftards whose only concern about immigrants to Canada has been that they vote for them in return for being put on the gravy train — only, many immigrants don’t want to be on the gravy train and have family values which the left-libbers consigned to the dust a long time ago.
    Very interesting, Rob Ford’s victory: ‘not the greatest mayoral candidate that’s ever been, but he sure beats the alternatives.

    -Christie Blatchford sticks the knife in : The day I knew for sure there must be something good about Mr. Ford was the day Justin Trudeau, the son of the late prime minister and the MP for Papineau riding in Montreal, came flying in to give George Smitherman his stamp of approval and save Toronto “from the politics of fear and division,” as he put it. Thank you for that, Mr. Trudeau. You may resume tossing your locks.
    We conservatives in Toronto haven’t had this much fun since listening to Premier-elect Mike Harris explain to outgoing Boob Rae; “gays like tax cuts too”.

    They come to Canada for family ties, to raise families, and to make money.
    They are just like us in their desires and values, mostly.
    All of this has nothing repeat nothing to do with the drug-loving homophile (perhaps pedophile) Left,
    who wish to corrupt their sons and daughters and destroy their families.
    It’s all an extension of the old old European phantasy that the Other are sexually immoral and
    readily available – aka Kate’s “More Pavilions at Folkfest” meme.
    A phantasy which should have disappeared 100 years ago, and which is only maintained by the arrogance and fecklessness of the Left.
    With a little work, the Hindu, Chinese, Muslim, Sikh communities in Toronto and other large cities
    should become “no-pass” zones for leftists, Liberals, etc.: they will be cold meat if they enter.

    Here in Kelowna a few years back, our then Mayor refused to declare a “Gay Pride Day”. He was excoriated in the Press,and local Gay activists took him to the HRC. He was forced to take a course in “Sensitivity”.
    He then decided there would be NO declared civic “days”.
    Now,whose PC trumps whose?

  33. I think the Tamil and Muslim communities should file a class-action lawsuit against Smitherman for diagnosing them all with “homophobia”.
    Smitherman does not have a PhD in Psychiatry — he is not qualified to diagnose anyone, much less entire ethnic groups, with a psychiatric disorder called “homophobia”. It is medical malpractice and fraud. (Not to mention reminscent of Nazi and Soviet style pseudo-psychiatry where ethnic groups or political dissidents were often labelled with phony psychiatric disorders and incarcerated).
    Morover, the Tamils and Muslims did not say anything threatening against homosexuals in their political advertising, or even mention homosexuals. They simply voiced their support for traditional marriage the same way that 99.9% of all religions and cultures around the world do.

Now if they can evolve enough to turn their collective backs, could be daring, on the Poopsie Twins, Iggy and WhacoJack, we could really see the start of Canada coming into its own under a Harper majority. Any country should be run as a business to reach its potential, and for far to long Canada has been run to the benefit of the Power corp automatons from Big Turdoh on through to Little Turdoh with Da proof is da proof, and Paulie, Brian, Dionskey and gaia lovin Mo stealing the treasury bare. Lets stop believing the Star and Globe/CBC and CTV there Toronto and carry on evolving, finally.

    I watched the coverage for hours, and the MSM will still not publish Smitherman’s percentage of the vote! All I know is it was a “landslide” for Ford. I think they are not publishing the Slithery results because of the obvious: it will show serious bias in the MSM’s “scientific” pre-election polling results.
    Anyone have a clue what Smither’s actual percentage of the vote was? I can’t find it anywhere…

    No, no, no, Loki! I realize that quite a few of our dregs descended on your country like a plague of locusts during the Vietnam War.Some of them are still up there and I’ll bet their obnoxiousness has not waned with age. However, we have more than enough moonbats here, thank you. Well,…, OK, let’s see how the California midterms work out. If Golden Staters are dense enough to reelect Babs Boxer and put one of their crappiest governors ever back in control of the place, well, that’s French-striker level stupid. California will be finished then, so heck, a few brain-dead Canuck lefties won’t make any difference.
    I hope the Toronto mayoral election is a portent of what will happen here in a week. The gnashing of teeth and wailing from the left will be lovely to hear.

  46. On the local news this morning, Ford is said to want to immediately scrap the 2 miller taxes (Vehicle Registration and land transfer)…Next he “Wants to sit with the unions and talk”…
    I can see Ford’s style right now: He will communicate directly with Torontonians through local media and explain in normal english, non career politician type, what is going on. He will do this quite often IMO, and beware the local media that dares distort or omit some of his message…He will move to another media if it happens and he will refuse to talk to the snakes like CBC. I can see the youngest, least biased, “A Channel” picking up most of it…Of course, SUN tv is on it’s way too.
    Ford will speak to the common law abiding and productive Torontonian and will keep his popularity very high that way…Beware unions and special interest groups.
    I would not be surprized the gay pride parade to be eventually dumpted too…With the “multiculturalist” folks strongly being it.
    This deserves a big Simpsons “Ha ah!” to the caffee latte elites.
