My personal likelihood estimates for life on Mars just went up a couple points.
"The subglacial lake contains no oxygen, but is home to at least 17 different types of microorganisms. The water is hyper-salinated (very salty), and its unusual coloring is due to its high iron content..."
Cold, no O2, hyper saline, hyper iron content, pitch black...
One of my favourite places on this earth 'bleeds' in spring. Walking on the beach, I was thinking of my Mom, who, at the time, appeared to be physically fading. I looked toward the ocean; all the arteries fed by a forest stream and flowing into the sea were sparkling in the sun. I tried to jump over one narrow vein and ended up, instead, stepping right into dark red water. Very startling.
Anyone who knows the poetry of Irving Layton would understand why one of his poems came to my mind.
After some reflection, I remembered that the forest in that area is rich in iron.
So green water---copper or algae....
There is red algae---doncha-kno'-----it's called red tides and is toxic to other critters.
I recall the tofu eaters getting knots in their togas about that awhile back.
Why this blog? Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice
of an ordinary Canadian
yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I can't answer or use every
tip, but all are
appreciated!

Holy hell, woman. When you
send someone traffic,
you send someone TRAFFIC.

Mars!
What, no Virgin Mary image?
That's nothing, my vehicles develop ulcers and bleed after every Manitoba winter.
So Gaia hasn't hit menopause yet ?

...Ooops, should have written "forest GROUND" is rich in iron.
Fred, menopause sounds like a feminist organization on steroids, which would be Gaia.
I'll put my faith into someone who died for my sins, not some damn glacier.
Symbolism endures. Memory does not.
Syncro
Neato!
Of course, it's iron that makes blood red anyway (she said, belabouring the obvious).
Also - I blame Bush, that earth-murdering b@stard.
Syncro, you wrote: "Symbolism endures. Memory does not."
The memory of an elephant and a woman scorned lasts forever.

Well...Mother Earth is a Gaia term. I'm with Fred.
Chutz
Exceptions that rely on the definition of "forever"..
Of course the dashboard light could be used as a rule of thumb.

Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this, but:
spring of iron rich water = red + flowing = bleeding, ∴
pyroclastic volcano = white + explosive eruption = orgasm ?
Syncro....LOL!
Lord says sternly youse and yer rrgance did in Hopechangenhagen.
Shame.
More, ya didn't unnerstand how Mao Stlong works with his nephew (Hi! I'm Canadian "Liberal leader" Boob Rae; Mao is my Uncle Mo.)

"Copenhagen climate summit undone by 'arrogance'
The "disappointing" outcome of December's climate summit was largely down to "arrogance" on the part of rich countries, according to Lord Stern.
The economist told BBC News that the US and EU nations had not understood well enough the concerns of poorer nations."

Menopause?!
I thought it was men on pause.
Reminds me of the Franklin expedition -- "not another bloody icefield!"
We could start a save the anaerobic bacteria campaign if that makes you feel better?
Perhaps oxygen should be next on the EPA's list.
Mr. Frozen Fish, they say that businesses in Steinbach don't give their employees a coffee break. Instead, they get Menno pause...
