Oops - 2nd link not working.

"My resolution does, however, keep EPA from threatening Congress with its own greenhouse gas policy as we write legislation.”
~Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo

It's a twofer for this guy.
1) He's listening to his constituents
2) He's opposing the writing of legislation by unelected bureaucrats
3) He has reversed his position on greenhouse gasses.

OK, that's three, but I was too happy to really count and I like the word "twofer".

Thanks, link fixed.

Now, bring this news of the new direction to Jim Prentice's stance.

If the US is balking and he said he would go along with what the US determined, it seems he's accomplished what he had to do.

He signed onto Copenhagen with what enviromentalists said where too low goals, now he can abandon Canadian cap-and-trade and say he's following US policy.

Let's see how this plays out.

Give your head a shake - the money has already been spent, allocated, whatever. These chickensh*ts aren't lookin' out for your interests. They get a paycheck even when your's stops. All they've done is make sure that they do, when you don't.

that goes the same for "Special Ed", too.

Some progress in the British MSM. They could no longer ignore the ever-growing mountain of evidence of fraud and lies anymore.

I still don't see anything on this side of the Atlantic. It's still "everybody knows..." with the Presstitutes of the Yank and Canuck MSMs.

I've given the Conservatives lots of rope on the Climate Change file as they really had little alternative but to get out in front of the issue in 06-07 or get defeated at the polls due to the medias full court press of AGW.

But the playingfield has now not simply tilted but has fully reversed. There is no reason not to show some real leadership on this file.

My conversations with my MP have left me with the impression that regardless of where this issue goes that the Conservatives are sticking to their hard reductions by 2020, which are now 17% below 2005 levels.

This is absurd, since C02 emissions are simply not an issue and never have been, and the evidence that AGW/Climate Change is nothing but a fraud is becoming further rooted in hard facts on a daily basis.

I have told my MP, and Conservative fundraisers that until this changes the CPC will not see another penny out of me, and I contribute the maximum allowable.

Time to quit managing this issue based on the agendas of the AGW alarmist crowd - which just steers us onto the rocks a litle more slowly - , and instead take ownership of it based on hard facts and reality, and in doing so show some real Conservative leadership.

Mr. Harper dust of your 2002 fundraising letter. Its the truest thing you have ever said on the issue.

Harpers letter as follows:

"We’re gearing up for the biggest struggle our party has faced since you entrusted me with the leadership. I’m talking about the “battle of Kyoto” — our campaign to block the job-killing, economy-destroying Kyoto Accord.
It would take more than one letter to explain what’s wrong with Kyoto, but here are a few facts about this so-called “Accord”:

It’s based on tentative and contradictory scientific evidence about climate trends.
It focuses on carbon dioxide, which is essential to life, rather than upon pollutants.
Canada is the only country in the world required to make significant cuts in emissions. Third World countries are exempt, the Europeans get credit for shutting down inefficient Soviet-era industries, and no country in the Western hemisphere except Canada is signing.
Implementing Kyoto will cripple the oil and gas industry, which is essential to the economies of Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
As the effects trickle through other industries, workers and consumers everywhere in Canada will lose. THERE ARE NO CANADIAN WINNERS UNDER THE KYOTO ACCORD.
The only winners will be countries such as Russia, India, and China, from which Canada will have to buy “emissions credits.” Kyoto is essentially a socialist scheme to suck money out of wealth-producing nations.
On top of all this, Kyoto will not even reduce greenhouse gases. By encouraging transfer of industrial production to Third World countries where emissions standards are more relaxed, it will almost certainly increase emissions on a global scale "

Number two refers to the SD legislature. Is this body dominated by Dems? How else could you explain their use of astrological phenomena to come to the conclusions they seem to have reached?

"We are winning". I hope so. Al Gore just did an op-ed at the NYT yesterday, in which he repeated all the usual BS.

We might have 'em on the ropes,so let's keep hitting them with body shots, like this post.

I'd recommend Kate for the Order of Canada for her work in exposing the fraud that is AGW, but she'd probably just say something un-PC and have to give it back.

These people are not about to abandon their cause...they have too much invested and have came too close to succeeding. Something like the Dems in the US....their agenda goals are much more important to them than getting re-elected.
It's like playing "whack-a-mole".

Over at Bourque there is a link to Dizzy Lizzy's comments in some lefty rag called "the mark news". I could not even finish it when she started quoting.... "Queens University Professor Emeritus Ned Franks observed that we should call Mr. Harper “King Stephen the First of Canada.” What also evident is she thinks global warming is still the most critical issue facing the nation...gag.

Star Phoenix had a full page of stories today about the sad consequences of global warming. I suppose they don't have internet access. I only read that paper when I find it in the coffee shop, and then I want my five minutes back.

astrological causes of climate makes more sense than the current warmeners horseshit

Ward, thanks for posting the text of Harpers 2002 letter. I'll be sending a copy of this to my Conservative MP along with a note that until the demonization of CO2 stops, they won't be seeing a penny in donations from me. I used to donate the yearly maximum to the Reform party and occasionaly to the Conservative party so I get a lot of request for money from the Conservative party.

I know that the Reform party was funded primarily by lots and lots of small donations and don't know if this still holds in the Conservative party. However, if there are thousands of letters from pissed off people telling various riding associations to find other sources of revenue we might start to see some changes in thinking on the biggest tax grab attempt in history (sorry that slipped out instead of AGW).

Al Gore's Weather (AGW): Al, sit down and we'll explain: **** happens.

"Snow Happens at Above-Freezing Temperatures

A forecast calling for snow when the temperature is above the freezing mark may seem impossible, but that is exactly what will take place across parts of the East through Wednesday.

How cold the air is in the upper levels of the atmosphere is more important to the survival of a snowflake than what the temperature is at the surface."

ward

Harper went Ottawa a while ago.

Expect the usual banalities, with blinkers firmly in place.
The Red Tories won. Reform is dead.
Its happy ever after, on Parliament Hill with its drone like Bureaucrats. Status quo all the way baby.
"CINO" City has Ottwashed yet another bunch of would be saviors.
Real Conservatives have been orphaned.
JMO

Thank-you for that Ward. I will be doing the same as you - making my time and my donations to the CPC dependant on their recognition of the Climategate scandal and their denunciation of the liars, thieves and Bolshevik toadies that have 'enabled' this theft of liberty and money in the name of a LIE. Mr. Bernier said it well; I want the CPC to be seen and heard backing up Mad Max!

Al Gore's Weather (AGW): Closed.

"2001-2010 was the Snowiest Decade on Record

Now that we have reached the end of the meteorological winter (December-February,) Rutgers University Global Snow Lab numbers (1967-2010) show that the just completed decade (2001-2010) had the snowiest Northern Hemisphere winters on record. The just completed winter was also the second snowiest on record, exceeded only by 1978. Average winter snow extent during the past decade was greater than 45,500,000 km2, beating out the 1960s by about 70,000 km2, and beating out the 1990s by nearly 1,000,000 km2. The bar chart below shows average winter snow extent for each decade going back to the late 1960s."

Good ... seems everyone is finally beginning to understand the depth of this fraud.

Not the MSMers or the waffling politicos.... but the readers who are finally showing some appropriate outrage.

What took you so long?

ward @ 2:55, what you said. I have been telling them the same thing when they phone with their hand out.

I got a Canada 20/20 poll today and other than the same old, same old questions regarding who would I vote for federally and provincially, the remainder of the questions were about my views on AGW. Some of the questions were in the same vein as "Are you still beating your wife?", but many questions allowed for a reasoned answer. There was even a comments box to write in.

And another thing. I have not purchased a Star Phoenix subscription for many years. They sign onto every last bit of PC garbage going. It is just a Toronto Star clone.

maz2; quantity of snow is a poor indicator of the severity of (a)winter. First and last frost, degree days, and max/min temperatures are far more telling.

Snow........

I have seen snow in Michigan....West Branch....in July.....
However, SNOW COVER is quite another matter.
Anybody that thinks more extensive winter snow cover is an indicator of warmer weather is smokin' something illegal.
