And as has been pointed out, he misses the phrase in the Immigration Brochure, despite quoting it, that rejects 'all gender-based violence'. That's all that needs to be said about homosexuality.

He inserts a link to the Dutch immigration package, which includes a film showing two gays kissing and a topless bather - both images censored from the Iranian version --so what's the point? The applicant is not required to answer a question about these images in any case. And any EU or N. American applicant, anyone making more than 54,000 a year any refugee, is excluded from the test.

I think the new Immigration package of Canada is excellent and says it all. The only thing I would add is what the Australians AND QUEBEC have done, which is to add a requirement that the applicant for a visa sign an acknowledgment that they agree to abide by the sociocultural norms of the nation, which include those aforementioned statements in the brochure.

That was Montreal Simon admitting that homosexuality is a sexual proclivity rather than a gender.

It's my observation that none of the so called victim groups have any desire to help their own causes. Whether it's victims of AGW that won't move to green energy preserve themselves, or women that indirectly support the tyranny of women via political alliances with Islamic groups, or gays and their political alliances with Islamic groups that would see them annihilated; they’re all the same, a bunch of short-sighted selfish greedy lazy children.

Maybe the potential immigrants to Canada should be given a phamplet before they apply, one that does show Canada is tolerant to gays, and also has a historical background in agriculture, especially in hog farming.

It's a good idea to practise with non-lethal guns before you graduate to the real thing. Helps you with your aim and just the overall use of a gun, so these guys acted very responsibly.

Re. pamphlets saving people's lives, I recall a Steyn anecdote about a pensioner couple who froze to death in their British [public housing] Council flat but they found the Town Council's AIDS pamphlets piled up in the flat.

hi Kate...Geezus. I would have thought that on the one and only occasion you and your readers would agree with me. What is wrong with telling prospective immigrants that unless they respect our Canadian values they should stay at home or go somewhere else. Huh?
Secondly I want to correct some of your readers, I am NOT against free speech. I may not hit Ezra Levant's pay pal button but I do agree that we need changes to the HRCs to make sure we don't muzzle legitimate differences of opinion.
But I also want to point out that doesn't apply here because Jason Kenney did not in this case have the courage to stand up for his views.

simon - Jason Kenny DID have the courage of his convictions; he refused to set up gays as a special category of Canadians.

Their 'protection' is covered by the phrase that rejects all gender based violence. Anything else, such as special privileges (marriage etc), is a matter for the legislatures of the provinces.

He is not a 'theocrat' and your slur is ungrounded. Furthermore, it is illogical to assert that IF one holds an opinion that is founded in religion, THEN, this is an invalid opinion.

Religious opinions, and it may surprise you, are not always and only ignorant and superstitious. They might very well be the result of reason; I suggest you look into theological writings on such issues as ethics, the role of faith, of reason, of the family and so on.

This is all way too confusing, who is doing the hating and who is the one being hated? I've also heard that homosexuality is absolutely rampant in the middle east, though I think all that sand could be a problem. There is one thing I'm pretty sure of though; the proper spelling should be "faggotry".
