If your daughter is a Girl Scout, you might hear about how horrible you are for serving meat for dinner. You see, meat is one of the new enemies of the Girl Scouts’ green zealotry. Ditto for toilets that only need to be flushed once.

Girl Scouts or Girl Guides and Scouts Canada no longer come around looking for my empty beer bottles etc. looking to raise money, they're more likely to stand outside Safeway begging, but they get nothing because they've made sure there are no more organizations for little boys. How f***in petty is that. They won the political game, but they've lost a good deal of their donors. Too bad. I reaklly do try to be positive, but it's so hard.

"January wholesale trade leap confirms recovery

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian wholesale trade jumped by a much greater-than-expected 3.0 percent in January from December, providing more proof that the recovery is well underway, Statistics Canada data indicated on Wednesday.

The increase, the strongest since the 5.0 percent leap recorded in December 2006, was far larger than the 0.5 percent rise forecast by market operators. Statscan revised December's month-on-month growth to 0.9 percent from an initial 0.7 percent.

In terms of volume of sales, January wholesale trade was up 2.9 percent from December. All seven sectors posted advances."

Germans Cringe at Hitler's Popularity in Pakistan

Germans are popular in India and Pakistan, but not always for the right reasons. Many in South Asia have nothing but admiration for Adolf Hitler and still associate Germany with the Third Reich. Everyday encounters with the love of all things Nazi makes German visitors cringe.

Pakistan is the opposite of Germany. The mountains are in the north, the sea is in the south, the economic problems are in the west and the east is doing well. It's not hard for a German living in Pakistan to get used to these differences, but one contrast is hard to stomach: Most people like Hitler.

I was recently at the hairdresser, an elderly man who doesn't resort to electric clippers. All he has is creaky pair of scissors, a comb, an aerosol with water. He did a neat job but I wasn't entirely happy.

I said: "I look like Hitler."

He looked at me in the mirror, gave a satisfied smile and said: "Yes, yes, very nice.""

Today,in Rob Ander's riding, a 10% was delivered that came from Siobhan Coady,who happens to be a liberal. Two weeks ago,another 10% was delivered,this one came from Alan Tonks, OMG he's a liberal also. Approx. three weeks ago,another flyer,this time from Foster Brooks long lost brother John McCallum,definitely not a conservative. Will CBC or CTV pick up on this hypocrisy? How do you know if a mailer is a 10 percenter? I've been receiving mail from Jack Layton, and my riding went Conservative last time around. I'm not an NDP member, nor have I given the anti-democratic NDP my mailing address.

"US military behind Haiti quake, says Innsbruck scientist

Innsbruck political scientist Claudia von Werlhof has accused the USA of being behind the Haitian earthquake in January, it emerged today (Tues).

According to a report on tirol.orf.at, Werlhof said that machines at a military research centre in Alaska used to detect deposits of crude oil by causing artificial earthquakes might have been intentionally set off to cause the Haitian earthquake and enable the USA to send 10,000 soldiers into the country.

Ferdinand Karlhofer, the head of the Innsbruck Political Science Institute where von Werlhof works, has slammed her comments. He said such conspiracy theory had no scientific basis and her claim would damage the reputation of the Institute abroad."
