I read Wilders' speech and it is a wake-up call to Western countries that Muslims are not so much immigrants as they are colonizers. When they exist within a western society in sufficient numbers, they inevitably try to transform that society to Islamic values.
Muslims have represented a substantial portion of immigrants to Western European countries in recent years. In Canada, we are lucky that they are not so prevalent in our immigration mix. For us, Wilders message is that we must ensure they never get the chance to come here in large numbers.
As for the Dutch government, their cowardly submission to Islamist anti-freedom demands makes one question the value of the sacrifice Canada made to restore freedom to Holland in 1945. Their politicians are only to willing to piss that freedom away to appease a bunch of totalitarian fascists whose demands will never cease until Holland becomes an Islamic state.

Truth can be dangerous, T, especially when it upsets the ruling elites. That's why Wilders is on trial. It is not because he is spreading falsehoods but rather it is because he is telling the truth.
The Dutch government has said it does not matter if Wilders' statements are true. It only matters that they are illegal. When you put someone on trial for stating the truth, you have a modern-day heresy trial. That's what this is.
T, in France, there are approximately 300 cars burned each week in the primarily Muslim neighbourhoods, by Muslim youth who are bored and angry that they have no jobs.
Would you "tolerate" that in your neighbourhood? How about the "honour killing" of a young woman friend of yours for talking with you, getting to know you and wanting to marry you, just for not being Muslim yourself? Are you ready for this kind of world?
It is heartening that when things get about as dark as they can for freedom, someone like Wilders appears and starts to lead us back toward the light.

Oh brother. Many conservatives all over have a fetish for a 'struggle' against 'invaders' who are coming to 'colonize' their country. It has always been bullshit. The article is pretty typical of someone who has adopted what he thinks is a superior stance on an issue and refuses to educate himself further. Shallow, naive and mostly ignorant. I see that many commentors called him on it. One of the more convincing was written by a Dutch immigrant. He posed the question that the Netherlands were (are) one of the most tolerant, accommodating and open societies ever. What could have changed in their society to make it possible for Geert Wilders to become a possible candidate for Prime Minister? It's not the Dutch. They have not changed It's the immigrants and their determination to exploit and reshape the society who has been so welcoming and generous to them.
The article was so typical of a juvenile, unripened point of view. Why bother doing research and really examining the situation when you've already got a shallow opinion to share with everyone. The reporter (Saunders I think) should go back to grade school.

As you perhaps know, one of my heroes, the Italian author Oriana Fallaci had to live in fear of extradition to Switzerland because of her anti-Islam book 'The Rage and the Pride'. The Dutch cartoonist Nekschot was arrested in his home in Amsterdam by 10 police men because of his anti-Islam drawings. Here in Britain, the American author Rachel Ehrenfeld was sued by a Saudi businessman for defamation. In the Netherlands Ayaan Hirsi Ali and in Australia two Christian pastors were sued. I could go on and on. Ladies and gentlemen, all throughout the West freedom loving people are facing this ongoing 'legal jihad'. This is Islamic 'lawfare'. And, ladies and gentlemen, not long ago the Danish cartoonist Westergaard was almost assassinated for his cartoons.
Note as a stark contrast that all of these people, post 9/11, have been refused sanctuary and even entrance to England after 9/11 compared to Salman Rushdie, who was allowed into England and given sanctuary before 9/11.

I agree with much of what Wilders says, it isn't pretty but it is the truth. The truth of Wahabist-Islamist law is it is exclusionary, despotic and cruel, but this is precisely why the new left wants to align with the belligerent forces pushing Islamization. There is much common ground. Principally the destabilization and homogenization of western cultural convention and institutions suits the agendas of both the mad Mullahs and the dissolute left.

Albania has seen significant free-market reforms and was one of 2 European economies to post GDP growth in the 1st quarter of 2009. The government cleared out a lot of carjackers in the '90s.
