Climategate: Blame Canada

The Moscow Times - doing the job Canadian media won't do!

“Several of these countries impose conditions saying ‘no, you can’t pass it on,'” Acton told the Parliament’s multiparty Science and Technology Committee in London. “Canada and Poland are among those countries saying ‘no you can’t.’ Also Sweden. And Russia is reluctant.”

[...]

“Canada releases its temperature data to anyone who requests it,” Brigitte Lemay, a spokeswoman with Environment Canada, said in an e-mailed response. “We have in the past and we will continue to make our data public. All Environment Canada official climatic data is made available without restriction to the public through our web site.”

“Why should I make data available to you when you only want to find something wrong with it?” Stringer concluded: “That is unscientific!”

This I found to be most humorous. I guess by his logic I should cancel the home inspection for the house I plan to buy. Geez!

A political agenda masquerading as science is "unscientific".

It has become painfully obvious that these so called "climate scientists" are either liars, idiots, or both.

“Several of these countries impose conditions saying ‘no, you can’t pass it on,'” Acton told the Parliament’s multiparty Science and Technology Committee in London. “Canada and Poland are among those countries saying ‘no you can’t.’

WRONG.
These bozos don't seem to know that the internet has caused a paradigm shift in the quantity and quality of accessible information.

The tawdry lies that they are used to telling with impunity to cover their naked guilt can now be found out in mere seconds and minutes.

They are who we thought they are, scoundrels, and we can prove it.

Johan:

Political scientist.

They have a long history of success in floating unsubstantiated theories to ‘progress' humanity.

Finally, it has caught up to them.

Ah yes, the East Anglia Pirate CRU are hoisted on their own petard in front of the town gate!

Truly delightful exercise in prevarication.

Next we will lie the blue out of the sky.

The Climate Audit clipping service was a treat, since we have already seen their tricks. Happy Halloween...

I believe the correct english description for such behaviour is known as "mountebank".

These people are stalling for time, desperately hoping that their pet theory will start looking good again in a year or two. The past two or three years have knocked the stuffing out of AGW, all over the weather-specialist parts of the internet as well as in public opinion.

There's nowhere left to hide now, but they maintain the faith that socialism originally gave them, that their theory would bring knowledge, peace and a golden age of carbon-free utopia.

Reality of course is some sort of monstrous economic collapse followed by Stalinism.

That's why we must hold their feet to the fire, at least they will experience warming that way.

Opening Night Reviews?

Does this imply that that the comments are about a staged entertainment show? One that has been running for 30 years on "Broadway" with cheerleading "critics" and promoters as the audience?

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

And furthermore...

Who came up with the notion of "don't shoot the messenger"?

OK, I'll get off this thread now.

Vice Chancellor Acton makes the academics portrayed in basically any Brit detective series totally believable. Monty Python lives!

This is just....

Quentin Letts, in the Daily Mail:

"Professor Acton, a younger version of Professor Calculus from the Tintin books, beamed and nodded at everything Professor Jones said. ‘I think that answer was spot-on,’ he cried, after listening to one response from the terror-stricken Jones.

"Professor Acton’s left eyebrow started doing a little jiggle of its own. His eyeballs bulged with admiration for the climate-change supremo. His lips were pulled so wide in wonderment they must nearly have split down the
seams like banana skins. "

I'm sorry, but that's beautiful writing....I'm verklempt.

Mark Twain's ghost is knocking some heads together in Jolly Old.

The CBC fiddles while ClimateGate burns...

If you liked that, have a look at this:

The Brits are on to this, and their narrative has been written. Even in spite of my cynicism I think that the press on this continent will start to do the same.

Soon they will begin to turn on one another like trapped rats. eating the weaker of each other until there is just a few rats left standing. Al Maurice,Rajender, Al a divinity school dropout who has parlayed a mindless theory into a world wide economy wrecker, ruining entire government treasuries while enriching his own along with his useful idiots like Suzuki Jones etc. Governments must stop the insanity now! Our taxation to feed this monster of lies and theivery will end up stealing your very houses and holdings in the end.Let your MP's know now, keep the pressure on Renner and Prentice to contact reality.

If I may, I will read it out loud;

* The Moscow Times - doing the job Canadian media won't do! * !!!!!

All of Kate's posts have an underlying point. She puts a lot of thought into her blog and that is why it is so worthwhile coming here.

I hope I am correct in suggesting this is what she is, in part, implying;

1) is the Russian media smarter ?

2) is the Russian media more honest ?

3) is the Russian media not as agenda driven as Canadian media ?

Perhaps all three ! Who would have thought we would have ever seen the day.

As someone who grew up during the most frightening periods of the Cold War, I never thought I would live to see the day that I, as a free Canadian, would have to look to the Russian media to find the truth.

Amazing!

It would seem that the Fleet Street global warming poodles and their slimy editors have been weighed in the balance, found wanting, and sent off. There is a distinctive impression of "blood in the water" reportage taking its cue from the old "reptilian scribblers" of yesteryear. When you caught their attention years of infamy and misery lay ahead.

The next fiscal report from the BBC's Pension Fund (heavily biased toward "Green" cutting edge investments dealing with AGW) should make interesting reading.

Phil Jones did clarify when questioned that the reason Canada said no was that they wanted people to come to them for the data, not fetch it from CRU. It seems as this wish would have been very easy to satisfy, had they really wanted to.

There isn't much, if any, mention of Phil Jones' damaging testimony on any of the AGW advocate websites. It seems that Professor Jones may be on his way to becoming a non-person in the AGW camp.

"Lysenkoism and James Hansen

by Bob Carter

March 3, 2010

[This is the essay Australia's ABC tried to ban. See story here...]

Is Hansenism more dangerous than Lysenkoism?

On June 23, 1988, a young and previously unknown NASA computer modeller, James Hansen, appeared before a United States Congressional hearing on climate change. On that occasion, Dr. Hansen used a graph to convince his listeners that late 20th century warming was taking place at an accelerated rate, which, it being a scorching summer's day in Washington, a glance out of the window appeared to confirm.

He wrote later in justification, in the Washington Post (February 11, 1989), that "the evidence for an increasing greenhouse effect is now sufficiently strong that it would have been irresponsible if I had not attempted to alert political leaders".

Hansen's testimony was taken up as a lead news story, and within days the great majority of the American public believed that a climate apocalypse was at hand, and the global warming hare was off and running. Thereby, Dr. Hansen became transformed into the climate media star who is shortly going to wow the ingenues in the Adelaide Festival audience.

Fifteen years later, in the Scientific American in March, 2004, Hansen came to write that "Emphasis on extreme scenarios may have been appropriate at one time, when the public and decision-makers were relatively unaware of the global warming issue. Now, however, the need is for demonstrably objective climate forcing scenarios consistent with what is realistic".

This conversion to honesty came too late, however, for in the intervening years thousands of other climate scientists had meanwhile climbed onto the Hansenist funding gravy-train."

Knacker:
“Why should I make data available to you when you only want to find something wrong with it?” Stringer concluded: “That is unscientific!”

The first portion is a quote, by Stringer, quoting from one of *Jones* emails. The second bit is Stringer's reaction. And Stringer is correct, Jones was being unscientific..
