Another Poll Goes Horribly Wrong

In fact, I suspect this one could go deeply, tragically wrong...

This BCer helped nudge the poll in the appropriate direction.

We have the same issues with public TV in the US. When are people going to wake up?

If my cable TV bill gets jacked-up to pay for communities that can't support a local TV station I'll cancel cable and go internet for what I want to watch.

The ads tugging at our heartstrings about how "X" community groups will suffer if we don't all pay doesn't hold water.

If said community groups rely on 120 minutes per day of "local programming/PSAs" to get their message out they're doing something wrong in the first place.

They played this game here a while back.

Hamilton CHCH #11 was going down....

It got new management and format and has good ratings.

All day news (very little editorial), good weather and feature length movies every night without the commie bias.....good formula provide what the viewers want not the employees preferences......

sorry about the double....
I'll blame my slow ISP......

Amen, Brother! I think a lot of us will be doing the same thing.

What sasquatch said. The old CHTV was lame, so no one watched it. The new format is much better and they don't need a government subsidy to finance it.

I voted against the shutdown..

Not the time to kick anyone out of work.

Other details not too important in these unstable economic times.

Tony,
Can I come work for you?
Apparently you won't be concerned about whether or not I'm adding any value, and as long as I continue to get paid, I won't be concerned about it either. However, we will both be very content because in these unstable economic times, my family's economic situation will be very stable. And that is what is most important....or is that only when it involves other people's money?

Before I head off to vote, can someone tell this Albertan what SCN is?

Miles,

Not likely on my dime pal.

Now the TV part of CBC is different. That pool of Librano flesh can be pasturized anytime.

I haven't had a TV since 1986 when my 26" Zenith died. Don't miss it for a moment. Life is calmer without that insane drivel tube.

Cable TV? You mean programming that requires you tune in at a specific time to watch your content? How quaint. Nope, won't miss it.

Don't know about you guys in the lower mainland or the GTA, but our movie complex here in the Comox valley has a full parking lot and overflow into the Driftwood mall every weekend.

Tv is not highly valued here.

could some one please enlighten me to what a TV is????

sasquatch, is there a Shaw satellite number for CHCH 11?

Ken (Kulak)

Haven't got a dish...us a tower...
suggest maybe "A Hamilton"...best guess.
I shall ask the neighbour.....
They have satellite TV
high speed---
a bigger dog----

......the dog hangs out here a lot....has his own dish.......

LOL the link source updated and thanked Kate, here's a snip from the parting paragraph!

"So, SDA, whether you or someone you know is running a voting script on our poll or you’ve just sent chattering gangs of libertarian baboons after us, I just want to say: thanks for the attention."

So we've a new moniker then; 'chattering gangs of libertarian baboons',
- nah, too wordy.
But, who's this 'us' that we chattering baboons are apparently after?

Any way, was nice of her to thank Kate, most don't when they receive these free avalanches of traffic. ;)

And so, a poll response from SDA is like a voting script program then.
Interesting.

And the CBC, and TV Ontario, and....

Just got the traffic on the visits to our new website, which are huge. So I would say: yes, a reference from Small Dead Animals apparently IS as mighty as an automated voting script. Nothing left for you lovable gangs of chattering, Libertarian baboons to do but take the compliment and accept prairie dog magazine's appreciation for your visit to www.prairiedogmag.com. Thank you! We hope you enjoyed your stay.
