Again and again, blogs are not only scooping the MSM, but are in some cases months ahead in research and investigative reporting.
... on the state of the media. We started pumping stuff into the system in mid -December yet, even though our stories have been replicated in whole or part, thousands of times, it really is quite remarkable how few journalists bring anything new to the table. Most of the stuff seems to be recycled, very often poorly understood and most often incomplete and behind the curve – and very rarely acknowledging the source. And it came full circle yesterday, with the New York Times finally broaching a story about Pachauri and the IPCC, two months are we started the hare running.
... case in point ...Pajamas way out front:
Who is Achim Steiner? A German, born in Brazil, he is a longtime environmentalist, former head from 2001-2006 of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, or IUCN. (Sample of UN climate networking — take a deep breath, don’t even try to follow this, just roll with it: The IUCN has been phenomenally intertwined over the years with the UN cast of climate characters. When Steiner left the IUCN in 2006, he was succeeded there by a sister-in-law of a former U.S. ambassador to the UN, Richard Holbrooke. This Holbrooke in-law, Julia Marton-Lefevre , in turn, had just finished serving as rector of the UN University for Peace, in Costa Rica, which had been greatly beefed up in the years prior to her arrival by the so-called godfather of the Kyoto Treaty, Maurice Strong – first head of the same UNEP that Achim Steiner now runs).

When it's all said and done the UN-led "climate change" fraud will make Oil-for-Food look like chump change.
The sooner that building gets razed and all the "delegates" are sent home, the better.
Canada is a prime example of the internet ahead of the pack on monumental issues.
Kate McMillan's SDA blog drove the corrupt CRU data story for days before MSM, in Canada even twigged onto it.
And the UN is a corrupt cesspool and MSM are the enablers of the AGW and carbon trading hoax being perpetrated to redistribute world wealth.
CBC, Globemedia - CTV, Torstar, CanWest Global, Canadian Press, leftist corporate enabling whores, all.
OH, that Canada would have a FOX equivalent corporate "national" news disseminator instead of the current cabal of conservative hating,
leftist agenda driven news dissemblers,Canadian MSM.
but...but...
without the MSM we wouldn't get investigative reporting. Individuals don't have the resources to dig deep like the MSM does. We need the MSM because only they can get to the nitty gritty of the story. They're too big (and vital) to fail! Or so I've been told.
Educate yourself, inoculate yourself against the cesspit of corruption that is the UN and all its agencies, the multi-BILLION dollar enviro-grifters like IUCN, WWF, Greenpeace and the other rent seekers getting rich off Climate Scientology.

I agree with this article 100%. We tried to hand a big story to media, involving a wasted $15 mil by the McGuinty gov. two years ago. Details, dates, access to info, big names, and all we got was 'who are you'? It was like, yeah good story, factual, but we're busy now covering this squirrel stuck in the tree thing. Right now I'm sick of hearing about some guy who was banned from Tim's. That's news? Good grief.
These days, the centre of the journalistic world is
not New York or London, but Delisle, SK!
A German, born in Brazil. No need to read beyond these words.
John Lewis @ 1:48 says it all, and I might add closely followed by FoxNews. Certainly not Toronto.
Has anyone here noticed the decided lack of John Cross, the guy who would come to every AGW post here and parrot the "revered" IPCC?
It's amazing how light shone on the truth will silence the AGWers?
What most MSM and hence the public fail to realize is that the UN and the Climate AGW cabel are really a bunch of unelected bureaucrats intent on ruling the world.
The "concensus" was not an agregate of scientists but rather bureaucrats, who despite sometimes impressive academic tags, in reality were ignorant, activist bureaucrats.
The UN in principle is just OBOZOs cadre of czars writ large.
Mo Strong admitted diverting his progress from business to elected office to UN activities which offered much better remuneration, much more power and much more influence with little risk of liability.
What an interwoven web of characters in this AGW global scam! It kind of reminds me of trying to figure out the structures, names and connections of all the five Mafia families in New York in their heyday. A lot of leeches and parasites in this.
AGW has now reached it's tipping point.
The statement below is a wrap.
These "storms back-to-back" is a singular event.
History is written this way: unexpected, unnerving, unknowable.
Humanity is overwhelmed by the awesome unleashing of the majesty and power of an unknowable universe.
And yet, ...
"What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"
(Psalm 8:4)

“It’s hard to find anything in the history books of these types of storms back-to-back,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Stephen Konarik."

While it is certainly true that the MSM is failing, there is a reason, rarely discussed, as to why.
Back in 81 or 82 there was a commision set up to investigate "concentration of ownership" (Kent Commission) in Canadian media. I covered reports of it as a working journo. It is a problem that has only gotten worse over the past thirty years. As failing to pay interest on corporate borrowing to make acquisitions directly impacts on corporate officer compensation, it is always the last "cost" to be cut.
If you want to place the blame where it belongs, you would do well to look at the Mergers/Acquistion business model and the Wall St. whores. It has gutted news rooms from coast to coast as leveraged buyouts demand for economies of scale force journos onto hampster wheels chasing way too many stories with way too little time.
Combine that with a curriculem in school based on socialist idealogy and you get what we've got. It may be a coincidence that these forces combined to bring journalism to the sorry state it is in today...but I don't subscribe to the easter bunny theory either. I pretty much quit reading newspapers years ago and rarely watch tv news. That said I do spend at least four or five a hours a day reading from the hard right to the hard left, with a health dose of Mises.org and Rockwell to provide economic perspective.
There is more than enough blame to go around and much non-sense gets promoted while serious issues (even here) are ignored. Ultimately we are all in this together and there are lots of smart folks who strongly disagree with each other who fall back on their assorted "sacred" mentors. Truth has been argued since the Greeks of old at least...and we are no closer to it today than 30 centuries ago. One thing I am utterly certain of after nearly 40 years of actualy trying to figure this all out is the truism that "freedom is a process, not a destination" and anyone who trys to convince you that they are the sole arbitor of truth is probably angling on your wallet and your consent to screw some else of what should be theirs. Both my father and grandfather were deeply scarred by their sacrifices for freedom in the first and second world wars and I am certain would be ashamed of what we are doing today...the road to hell is indeed paved with good intentions.
That said if you want to play, you've got to support someone, no matter how much you may disagree with some of their policies. I hope Mr. Harper doesn't betray that hope..."it's easy to forget your original intention was to drain the swamp, when you're up to your ass in alligators."
Ummmmmm....if he was born in Brazil,then he ain't a German.Same as I was born in Canada,but I'm a Yank? Oh wait.....IUNC,IPCC,AGW....now it all makes sense....sorta

Justthinkin - that would be a Celtic/Norman/Hun - Brazilian - they do have hyphenated Brazilian citizens, don't they? it's all the rage up here in North America! Like having a hyphenated last name.
It's GWAAlagain: sorry; it's time for Time.

Comment at Free Republic:

"These days, the centre of the journalistic world is

Agreed. SDA is the "Corner Gas" of the blogosphere.
I dunno Just. How can we have African Americans who've never left Africa then? Aren't they just African Americans not living in America?
Putting Lipstick on the IPCC Pig.
It was a dark and stormy night, and Choo-Choo and his commissars were slathering lipstick on their IPCC pig, when to their eyes did appear Big Al AGW.
Al says, "Peace, good buddies. Ahm here to find out who shot mah pig."
"Oink, oink, oink, oink," the Piglets do squeal.
The Pig is IPCC; the commissars/experts are here; the leftist Guardian is Big Al AGW with the lipstick.

"How to reform the IPCC
The Guardian asks experts around the world what needs to change to enable the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to continue to play a central and positive role in enabling the world's governments to take the right action against climate change"

You know what gets me? The UK high commission in Canada has hired a specialist in spin to sell climate change as a security issue. What brass. Its gossipy media office can't be taken seriously on this issue so it contracts it out. Wow.
A German, born in Brazil, has to be the offspring of an escaped Nazi war criminal. That's where the majority of them headed, when the Third Reich began to crumble, with plenty of plundered Jewish wealth in their pockets.
Who knows?, maybe he's one of the "Boys from Brazil".
