Oh. So that's why.
this just in from the 50% of the population that is dumber than average
"ah just knowed he could do it"
Soooo, the science is not settled.
Al Gore lied. Universities lied. And, more importantly, the media has been (knowingly) lying for a decade.
Let the motherofalllawsuits begin.
Also, Professors and Teachers and Politicians and the United Nations.
Should keep the Torters in the money for a decade or so.
maybe we just can't help ourselves, the ultimate explanation

Isn't it about time we just replace the term "Climate scientist" with "Climate activist"?
Begin putting in jail those who put forth faulty science.
See? That just proves that Obama didn't just SLOW the rise of the oceans but actually got them to retreat.
Isn't he amazing? We should all bow down towards Washington and pray to him 5 times a day.

He is so aware of the science, he can lecture us:
"..that's one aspect of the science that I think everybody should understand."

Good luck to that.
So, "Mission Accomplished" I guess.

"Bullshit Artist" would be a more accurate term.

it does , however, give big Hugo an excuse for mismanagement.
And people accuse me of never giving him credit.
"Minchin: How did science go so wrong on this issue? What caused the corruption of the scientific establishment?
Monckton: An ancient economic principle holds that he who pays the piper calls the tune. Climate science, like almost all science, is a monopsony—the only paying customer is the state. Bureaucrats and politicians find the notion of saving us from ourselves at our expense mesmerically attractive. So, as soon as the environmental pressure groups had got the scare going, the classe politique joined in with gusto because they found it socially convenient, politically expedient, and financially profitable. Scientists who dared to step out of line were menaced with loss of tenure and of funding. When Garth Paltridge first spoke out against the nonsense, the Australian funding authority for all scientific research telephoned him within 24 hours and threatened that if he ever went public again he would be cut off without a penny. That's how the "consensus" was built—by brute force.
Minchin: Should the IPCC be reformed or disbanded?
Monckton: I have long agreed with my noble friend Lord Lawson of Blaby that the IPCC should be disbanded. It is corrupt from top to bottom, its pseudo-science has been exposed for the scam it is, and multiple lines of evidence now suggest that climate sensitivity to anthropogenic CO2 enrichment of the atmosphere is perhaps one-seventh of the IPCC's central estimate, if that."

Obama merely underestimated his own abilities - the rise of the oceans has not "slowed", it has stopped completely! He is quite modest you know.
How can sea levels possibly rise?
Don't we use it all up in our hydro dams?
The Obamessiah teleprompters Noah...
"Yo Noah, this is the Obamessiah.
Yeah, umm you can stop cutting those trees down.
And um that Ark..., you can belay that order...the sea is not rising after all.
Yes well the 'climate scienticians' have repented and donned sackcloth and ashes for Lent.
Apparently the climate scienticians are doing the 400 years in indentured servitude routine. So Noah you're cancelled and we're bringing back Moses by popular demand."
Lord have mercy...

So the sea isn't going to rise and flood the coast. Funny I don't see that in the local paper anywhere. You would think that since they had a big story a few weeks back of the Halifax waterfront being submerged according to some report they would update the story and relieve the anguish of the poor souls scrambling to higher ground. Of course, nobody has ever claimed that the Chronicle Herald was a fair and balanced media outlet.
OK, so the seas have stopped rising but the "carbon trading Scam" is still very much in the works of all governments,Canada included, it seems.
Does this mean that we can move back to Niagara-on-the-Lake?
Well damn. My supplier of Bermuda sand and palm trees is going to be some PO'd when I call him and cancel my July order for Edmonton.
As stated, the average rise over 12,000 years has been 83cm.They just took that and downsized it to fit.Didn't they used to burn this type of charlatan at the stake once? Oh,for the good old days.
I think I was the first to say that the beauty of AGW is: when the world doesn't end we'll be able to look at the measures we've taken as proof Al Gore was right.
Thank Gawd for BC's Carbon tax! It looks like the world owes BC a debt of gratitude.(see how it works?)
Two things that are truly amazing are a) AGW advocates argued that sea levels would rise once floating ice melts. Ever had a glass of ice water moron? And b) that so many "educated" people in North America would accept this premise. Ever had a glass of ice water moron?
Anyways, this is exactly the argument one of Dr.Fruit Fly's experts used on the Roy Green show a year ago when debating Sir Moncton. The greeny admitted the next day he got trashed in the debate.
When it comes to legitimate debate on the AGW issue the score is: 1-0 for the deniers.

The recent snowstorms, known locally as the zud, are said to be even worse than the winter ten years ago, when scores of stranded nomads died along with 11 million heads of livestock."

Is the sea level rising, or is the land level falling?
Just found a new description of Obama:
The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers.
I only take credit for finding it.
Foobert, which works better for you? The climate activists can work it either way, if you're contributing to their cause.
Maybe we can get back to real science now.

The Met Office said that, if annual average temperatures continued for the rest of this week, this will be the most bitter winter since 1978-79.
With one week left of winter (December, January and February), the provisional average temperature is 2.4C (36.3F). Charles Powell, forecaster, said: “The exceptional cold weather in December and January brought the average temperature down. If you look at England alone, this looks like the coldest winter since 1981-82. But even on Sunday night, parts of central and northern Scotland were down to minus 18C (0F) again.”"

Indiana, buddy:
Your "glass of ice water" analogy doesn't hold, er, water.
Yes, the Arctic ice cap floats. However, the Greenland ice sheet is on land, and the Antarctic ice sheet is mostly on land. It's unlikely the Arctic sheet would melt, and the other two wouldn't, hence, if the Arctic ice cap really was in danger of melting I'd be concerned.
But it's not, I'm not, and I'm watching girls' hockey!
If every pay cheque you received from your boss had errors in it, and every single one of those errors were in his favour, and never in yours, would you wonder if they actually were errors?
Seems odd that every error in the AGW gong show is in the direction that exaggerates the problem, the 'errors' never understate the problem.
Wouldn't random chance suggest that at least some of the errors would understate the problem?
Maybe some of the crack journalists at our public broadcaster could look into this for us?
All those Toyota Priuses worked faster than anyone expected. Their regenerative braking maybe cost a few lives and a lot of collision damage, but they saved the world!
