Y2Kyoto: 4 Trillion Reasons Why The World Needs To Warm

Guess what? The man responsible for looking after the fat pensions of the boys and girls at the BBC is a climate change fanatic, and he is part of an international group of investment managers who bust a gut to invest in 'climate change' schemes. He's called Peter Dunscombe, and he runs the £8.2bn corporation pension fund, advising trustees on a day-to-day basis about their investments. Mr Dunscombe, who addresses conferences about 'ethical investments', is also chairman of the Institutional Investment Group on Climate Change(IIGCC), which has 47 members and manages four trillion euros' worth of investments; yes, four trillion. Their goal is to find as many 'climate change' investment opportunities as possible:

All that, and Jim Prentice's "reputation" science, too.

Mr Prentice can do what he wants to improve out reputation, while I buy more gold and toilet paper and canned goods and maybe a 50 pound sack of rice.

don't forget to stock up on regular light bulbs as well.

interesting article in harpers mag this month re climate credit scam (they actually call it a scam). It is bizarre for sure, but also HUGE $$'s involved. I think it is bound to collapse at some point as there is no real intrinsic value.

LindaL
Apparently the Chicago exchange price of carbon went from about $7 to about $0.10.
That's a sign of something.
What is amazing is that the US $$$ hasn't dropped like an anvil in free fall.
My guess is that the Chinese hold so many US $ they must defend the Yankee $.
Green stuff dies without subsidies.....

I wonder how many millions our msm AGW bedwetters have invested? Fox News just had a headline with a partial price tab for the BHO gument to attend; it was over half a million dollars - for a joke fest! Senate costs and 'other' were not tabled in the half million $$ price tag.

Anyone know how much Canada spent attending the Hoppin hag Liars fest?

I think some rather pointed questions need to be asked of our "overseers", the Cons. They seem to be playing their cards a bit too close to their chests for their conservative base to gain any insite on where they are actually going in this game.

When an email to Prentice gets hived off to the civil service at EC Canada to deal with, when they aren't members of the political party I wrote to, I smell a rat. Like an audit, while these clowns throw a little muscle around.

I'll keep this blog posted.

Wait for the BBC to go "all pension catastrophe all the time" while their 4 trillion in pension investments turns to compost.
Not that there's anything wrong with compost.

A small correction on the link at CJ "the BBC alone has about 4 trillion euro." My reading is the BBC has 8.2 billion pounds in the 4 trillion fund which has 47 members.

Either way, it's a criminal or treasonous conflict of interest. Wonder who the other fund members are and how much they've been messing with the "science" and the reporting.

Walter: How much of the CPP is involved? I'm sure we'll get a straight answer. After ABCP, I wouldn't trust any financial institution with the truth, though.

China can't afford to let the US go bust.
Neither can we.

the devil in the details is Obama's spending.

The sad thing is that the whole business of instilling fear into people to get their money is as old as history. The best example of debunking this is the following by Frederic Bastiat, stated over 150 years ago:

"Suppose a professor of chemistry were to say: 'The world is threatened by a great catastrophe; God has not taken proper precautions. I have analyzed the air that comes from human lungs and I have come to the conclusion that it is not fit to breathe; so that by calculating the volume of the atmosphere, I can predict the day when it will be entirely polluted, and when mankind will die of consumption, unless it adopts an artificial mode of respiration of my invention'

"Another professor steps forward and says: 'No, mankind will not perish thus. It is true that the air they has already served to sustain animal life is vitiated for that purpose; but it is fit for plant life, and what plants exhale is favourable to human respiration. An incomplete study has induced some to think that God made a mistake; a more exacting inquiry shows a harmonious design in His handiwork. Men can continue to breath as Nature willed it'

"What would we say if the first professor overwhelmed the second with abuse, saying: 'You are a chemist with a cold, hard dried-up heart; you preach the horrible doctrine of laissez faire; you do not love mankind since you demonstrate the uselessness of my respiratory apparatus'"

The more you lift the sheets from the AGW scam bed, the more bed bugs you see scurrying about. This is just the beginning.

fauxtography similar to what CBCpravda used. sepia and steam. except CBCpravda used an old plant that had been shut down for a decade.

Glad to see SDA'ers up to spedd with Jimby Prentice.

That bureaucrat is scary in any portfolio. Let's look at his (brief) list of achievements while in office:

1. Ministry of Indian Affairs: Charged with getting MacKenzie Valley Pipeline done. Caledonia native land claims emerge during tenure.
Result? MacKenzie Valley DOA after 4 years following Prentice around through 3 ministries. $20 million overbudget, and $20 billion pricetag to buy the natives blew the economics. Caledonia pricetag: $85 million and climbing. No resolution on horizon. Staff at indian affairs grows by 14% over 2 years of Prentice 'leadership'.

2. Minister of Industry: Charged with implementing update to Digital Copyright Model, align legislation with new technologies and industry paradigms.
Result? Two failed pushes on weak legislation - widely criticized in and out of caucus. Third attempt aborted, industry and consumers deeply distrustful, salted earth. Postponed until new minister can establish and reach out.

3. Minister of Environment: Discharged with getting carbon tax in place. Originally declared Canadian environmental policy independent of the US. Now, nothing can be done without full alignment with the US.
Result as environment minister?

Same as before. Nothing.

This man is a lifer bureaucrat installed as part of the deal to keep the Prog Cons on the public teat.

It must be hard enough for conservatives to tolerate a Liberal running around unchecked in the conservative party, it's quite another to have a life bureaucrat from the Indian Industry marking time until his fully indexed pension kicks in.

It's sad, really.

po'ed in AB @ 11:51, "I'll keep this blog posted."

Do that, in the meantime, it may be time to keep the wallet flap snapped shut. Maybe T will get a tingle up his leg.

Patients is what's needed. Watch the Americans for insight looking forward. Prentice has to back-up the CPC's play for legitimacy. Think of BO’s pledge to leave Iraq, close Gitmo ect… This simple tactic infuriates the right and appeases the left, but in the end the status quo prevails. Feel free to play the part of the “angry conservative”. We need you for the tactic to work, but please see the big picture and try not to sabotage our cause.

Food for thought: Assuming the CPC institutes the Cap'n Tax and the conservatives abandon the Conservative party; then what? Liberal government? Western Separation? Fine, Alberta and others separate (possibly); then what? How does Alberta operate in a Carbon oppressed environment? Carbon tax? Rejoin Canada? Join USA and accept their Carbon tax? Starve and die?

Does anyone but me see the paradox? I don't see any reasonable option except to follow the CPC's lead. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and direct me to how this should be handled by Minister Prentice.

Here in BC Gordon Campbell has the Pacific Carbon Trust a Crown Corp. that ALL Govt departments have to buy carbon credits @$25.00 per tonne! Our school distr has a budget shortfall of $1.3 Mil due to govt cutbacks yet we still have to buy $66,000 of carbon credits! I can just imagine where these multi millions from this scam end up.

Considering BC with its massive forests is more than carbon neutral it is just another tax grab.

We also have a extra carbon tax on fuel that is increasing every year.

Needless to say Campbell will get his azz kicked out in the next election and we will end up with the bloody NDP again.

Hey Al W,

Doesn't BC have a provincial Conservative Party? If not, why not? If yes, then get everybody you know and they know to support the party with money and time (ie. volunteer). Start supporting businesses who support your PC candidate...The only way to kill the leftist cause is by cutting it off from money. Yes, it will take a long time, but the only folks who support the left are the ones who benefit directly from the confiscated taxes. Start using your rights as a consumer to support only businesses who support your political and social views.

There there sure sure are are a a lot lot of of double double posters posters today today.

B.C. DOES have a Provincial Conservative Party, but they haven't elected an MLA since 1977,though they did run 27 candidates in the last election.

The Liberal-NDP polarization isn't doing us any good as they both support the same policies but have a different base.

The B.C, Conservative Party is the only one that intends to drop carbon taxes, allow oil and gas exploration off the coast, with a "by-your-leave" from our masters in Ottawa of course, and reexamine the development of more hydro power.

They look like a good alternative right now as Campbell has been infected with the usual politician's sense of immortality, and governs like a bloody socialist.

The thought of the NDP forming the next government turns my stomach,as do the Liberals,so there ain't much choice,is there?

I'm joinin' up.

How does Alberta operate in a carbon opressed environment?

Well, as one investment guru on BNN stated the other day, he laughed at that boogey man argument.

The USA needs carbon fuel. Lots of it. So does China and India. Even the CIA are telling Obumble the facts of life for his economy, plus his military. The USA will buy our "dirty oil", because we are next door, not Hugo or those in the ME. Period. Every last drop we will sell them. Mr Prentice is stepping into provincial resource jurisdiction on this and not just Alberta's. Just about any province with hydrocarbon reserves, drillable with the newest technology will be against him on this.

Despite the wishes of the planet depopulators, nobody wants to see the USA crumble, except the depopulators, because all our economies, including China's are tied into it and CARBON. Ontario manufacturers need Alberta & Saskatchewan to develop the oil sands for export, horizontal drilling for hydrocarbons to fuel our homes and businesses. Period. Without us driving the economics of energy in Canada, they are not going to be able to finance their public sector or their pensions trying to compete with Chinese based auto manufacturers to sell to anybody. Period. I just went through a cold spell in November where batteries froze and motors did not turn over. Batteries don't like cold weather and we are entering a cooling period, depite the fabricated lies of the "depopulators".

There are no two ways about it. Irrational people will starve or freeze to death without embracing CARBON, either in the food they eat or the fuel they burn. This is a carbon planet. All life here for the most part is carbon based. Including yours. Everything revolves around carbon in one form or another. I expect my government to be "with me on this, not against me". They will lose if they think that they can tax the air that we breathe, because then they tax "life" itself. They don't have that mandate.

So, bring on the Libs if they wish to tax "life" itself. Bring them on. You are right Indie, there is no "reasonable" option when I defend my life, against my government, it's all unreasonable then.

I was pretty shocked when I read what Prentice had to say. The whole climate fraud scam is coming apart, and yet there he is carrying on as if nothing has happened.

Indiana Homez: it would be nice if the government would just tell the truth for once. One grows weary of the games. They might get more respect from both sides if they did that.

To others regarding BC: Campbell has sold us out with all this carbon credit nonsense. Problem is that Campbell is being a bastard because he knows that the sensible thinking people in this province are trapped. That's why I have begun to loath the man - he no longer respects even his core supporters. I'd never vote NDP, which only leaves the Conservatives, but do they stand a hope of a good showing in an election?

Jimby Prentice could actually 'lead' the discourse of policy related to the environment and 'climate change', rather than blowing bullshit wherever he goes.

The clown hides in his constituent office and downtown restaurant corners. He doesn't come out unless it's a tightly scripted photo-op, and if you are not onside with the issue of the day, you are ignored.

Whether party member, constituent, or citizen (I am all three), this lifer bureaucrat is more Joe Clark than Joe Clark, and above all - he despises the notion of grassroots democracy & fiscal conservatism.

This clown is as bad for the Cons as Belinda Stronach.

And Indiana - if you've got a liberal running the show now, it doesn't matter what color their tie is. It's not about the partisanship, it's about leadership.

Peace.

Prentice is annoying and condescending in that red tory kinda way. After Climategate and successive -gates, the CPC could have insisted on a complete review and debate of the science. Focusing on the science should have shut up those who accuse the right of being anti-science and give a glimmer of light to those who think AGW is junk science. Instead we get lectures from Prentice about cleaning up our act and harmonizing carbon markets. My reading of Prentice is that he is quite gung-ho about setting up any form of carbon markets.

po'd and HB

Point taken, I've argued my side as well as I can. Since I’m apparently arguing for the left(?) according to most, I suppose now is the time to go into an illogical tirade: Na-na-nana-na I can’t hear you… obviously you’re racist Haiti hater on Big Oil’s payroll/ sarc.

I think you might be correct PO'd about energy sales to the US, but, there are other industries to consider. Barring upsetting the "base" a bit, I'm still not convinced the downside of doing nothing but spewing hot air(CO2) is such a grave thing. I'm still of the opinion this strategy is being used for political cover as a misdirection.

Remember HB, I was one of the early ones at SDA that called-out the CPC for the flip-flop. I debated ET at the time and I suggested that S.Day had lied on the Roy Green show when he was asked if he was a believer. I shared your view(assuming your comments have been ingenuous) for some time. I'm not a CPC shrill, I just happen to agree with the strategy regarding this file.

Hey, Indie there are no hard feelings. A lot of what you do say here makes a lot of sense. However, I do think that something is not "right" with "our" conservatives, right now and I for the life of me looking for a place to cast my ballot, don't trust these guys one bit.

Remember, these guys flipped on income trusts. The crowd I shared a town-hall meeting with afterwards won't be so charitable as you on the "hot air" Mr Prentice is spewing right now. If that is what he is doing. Some Albertans now don't trust these SOB's any further than they can spit!

"... and so it is, that we find Jim Prentice, Canadian Minister of the Environment chastising Canadian oil developers for giving Canada a bad reputation:"

All together now!

"I don't givadamn bout my bad reputation!!"

The MotherOfAll investments bath straight ahead. It will come one way or another, just a matter of time.

Seems that everyone is playing for time as no one wants to be accused of triggering the collapse.

The media will try and pin the blame on it's enemies.

If Prentice uttered a word about doubting the science, the media would blame the CPC for the green investment collapse. In the media's eyes, better that the CPC takes the hit than the "science" which the media has been pushing for a decade.
Perhaps the CBC has been "investing" all it's $billion dollar per year subsidy in the scam.

When this Colossus finally topples over from its own weight of lies. Its going to do more harm than the last 2 years to financial markets. Including the obscene spending of Obama or the wars combined.
JMO

Anybody wonder why the CPC is dropping in the polls. It's this kind of "liberal" stupidity. Those of us who are conservative are sick of having two Liberal parties and have given up on Harper and Prentice and the like. After 4 years we still have a gun registry, a CWB, higher than ever government spending, record deficits, and more freedom stealing laws and regulations than ever and now the stupid climate change fraud. If the CPC hopes to ever form a majority they had better go back to their conservative roots otherwise we will go back to a Reform Party model except this time the motto will be "The West wants out".

+think of all the pension funds in Canada!
Harperals are playing it smart, no sense in stepping into that pile.
Jim Prentice, Canadian Minister of the Environment chastising Canadian oil developers for giving Canada a bad reputation
All the Stake holders in AGW, including big Oil, have made the deals & the Money has changed hands...Now the public has found it is a fraud…The mass media marketing has failed.. what to do?

Prentice took the Money... Why is he not a petty crook?..

m, you got something to think about there. I know, I know, he is just saying this for the media and to sway votes in le Belle and Trontario. Considering the polls lately, I'm wondering hows it working for ya?

Ron in Kelowna @ 4:10

As always... I think you have hit the nail on the head with that comment.

Ron in Kelowna @ 4:10

As always... I think you have hit the nail on the head with that comment. I will second that Glengarrian.

Indiana H. - You have argued your point very well, IMO because only the wisdom of the Conservatives is being questioned. The Troika Trio can read - anyone heard any of those fools asking pointed questions about fraud science, law suits against ALgore and the fruit fly...also we have a gument funded msm that have not said boo about the scandal, fraud, lies and embezzlement surrounding Climategate; sooo the alignment of the bedwetters against the truth is weighted against truth. The Prime Minister has publicly stated, when asked about his opinions of the veracity of AGW/ temperature change, that he relies on the msm for his information. The msm will wear the egg on their lardy mugs; not the Prime Minister. The genie will never get back into the bottle, the genie is out and people do know the truth. One day the whole house of cards will collapse, the rats will run for the exit but the Conservatives can lay the blame for the hoax right where it belongs - with the msm!! The Troika will have lost their free propaganda foghorn, we Canadians will have turned another page on Dark Liberano days. I will be a good feeling and I, for one, intend to really enjoy the smugness I will enjoy.

I have already bought my smokes and beer and popcorn for the really big show. Climategate is growing like a big pimple, it is coming to a head and when it pops the entertainment will be in the cheap seats, the VIP seats will be showered in the pus they have created.

Don't forget the rubber apron Jema54:)

Why is he not a petty crook?..

Well, I dunno, he's a lawyer?
