The Sound Of All Hell Breaking Loose

So here's the question of the day: Without a thieving climate engineering porn writer at the helm, how does the IPCC retain its credibility?

"Without a thieving, climate engineering porn writer at the helm, how does the IPCC retain its credibility?"

Two words: Daniel Baldwin.

It's time.

When you say retain credibility, what exactly did you have in mind?

Just today I read an article where the former head of the Hadley CRU says "the science is rock solid".

They said that years ago, turned out it was built on a foundation of quicksand.

Now, it's rock solid again.

I wonder if Chapters has Dr. Pachauri's new book.

Two of those links are to the same site. Are we missing one?

"When you say retain credibility, what exactly did you have in mind?"

Maybe 'regain' would be a better word, but there was a time in the very recent past when seemingly half of the world's population reacted to the falsified, propagandistic assertions of avaricious internationalist gravy-train functionaries by nodding dimly with their mouths open.

Those days are gone - unless the IPCC convinces Daniel Baldwin to become the de facto leader of the movement, at which point all bets are off, and the science will be settled once again.

101 ways to get laid, even with a comb-over and ill-fitting suit: power, the ultimate aphrodisiac by Lurv Guru Raj ...

This guy should be the poster boy for abstinence-only programs. It'll take years for teens to get his visage out of their minds.

He looks like the people I see begging for spare change on street corners. Is he from the grave digger or toilet cleaning caste?

And the wheels on the bus go round and round.

Barry lending out his bus?

And a quick question. Who is Daniel Baldwin?

All I get when I Bing that name is a whacked out actor from the Baldwin clan.

Or rather, one of the whacked out Baldwin brothers.

Kinda on topic, but I was at a seminar yesterday for venture forums - topic was renewable energy firms. A distinguished professor from the local university (specialty semi conductor materials), asks question of German dude who just presented some info on his solar panel company. 'My calculations have always shown that the energy to manufacture a solar panel is greater than the expected total output from the finished panel up to their predicted mean time to fail. Has new technology changed this fact?' Answer from German dude. 'The Ontario government pays between 70 - 80 cents per KWhr for power from solar installations supplying the grid. The current rate for all power is 12 cents. This is what matters.'

Nice comment there, Greg; it bears repeating. 70 to 80 cents per KWhr subsidies for solar power, when the base rate is 12 cents.

How "sustainable" is that? It seems that you could get more energy by building a mound of tax-dollars, burning it and hooking it up to a turbine to generate electricity.

Oh wait ... that's essentially what we're doing, isn't it?

Thanks Louise, link fixed now.

I got nothing against solar power. It has it's uses- you know - patio lights, temporary road signs with no access to the grid. But for supplying the grid, the current solar technology is analogous to Orville selling tickets to Paris after that landing on a beach in North Carolina.

so pachauri was involved in the 130,000 dollar quebec flying banana as well ?

the ipcc tentacles spread everywhere it seems....

Don' tell Prentice and Renner about those flying bananas in our "beloved welfare bum province of Quebec", or a lot more Alberta oilsands wealth will be transferred quicker than Puchari can fictionally get it up!

Seems to me the IPCC hasn't lost credibility with our dear leaders. Charest is accusing Harper of having no plan to deal with "climate change" (we want more money!!) and Prentice is on board, committing Canadians to CO2 reductions (we'll give it to you!).

Sort of off topic:

About a month ago (shortly after the Hope-n-changing conference), someone here posted a link to four videos of a British scientist giving a lecture on the inevitability of climate change, regardless of what humans do. It included him showing a ppt with assorted charts showing most recent changes in tempurature, and then eventually extending that chart to cover the last three ice ages.

Does anyone remember that link, or name of the scientist? I'd like to see those videos again.

The IPCC represents an example of ORWELL's concept of "newspeak" in our society.
Pachauri represents a new caste of bureaucrats/activists masquerading as "scientists"......doing "research" (republishing WWF sci-fi)

Fruitflyguy was on the tube this AM, bemoaning the Cypress Mountain rain, as further proof of Climate Change.....
Funny, this Ontario dude remembers slaloming a rig through blizzards in Rogers and down the "Coke" to encounter steady rain at Hope....
Does he think we all live in the GTA? Beyond Hope?(pun).

"In breathless prose that risks making Dr Pachauri, who will be 70 this year, a laughing stock..."

Funny that. I was discussing sex and old people with my wife after reading a funny bit in the novel I'm reading. The premise is a woman telling her friend that she will not sleep with the old man named Puzzle. The friend was mortified at the suggestion and his inner monolog is as follows. We both found the following very funny:

"Surely people of such an age have no interest in the sweaty business of love making. At the very least it is indecent."-Tad Williams from the book Shadowplay

This about sums up my view on the topic.

Poor Doctor Patchouli, life must stink for him now.

Sasquatch;"beyond Hope"
Heh...good one! (that'd be Princeton, not Chilliwack; perspective is important)

This is a green site. With reports like this now appearing, the greens are in chaos.

"Sea level blunder enrages Dutch minister

A United Nations report wrongly claimed that more than half of the Netherlands is currently below sea level.

In fact, just 20 percent of the country consists of polders that are pumped dry, and which are at risk of flooding if global warming causes rising sea levels. Dutch Environment Minister Jacqueline Cramer has ordered a thorough investigation into the quality of the climate reports which she uses to base her policies on.

Climate-sceptic MPs were quick to react. Conservative MP Helma Neppérus and Richard de Mos from the right-wing Freedom Party want the minister to explain to parliament how these figures were used to decide on national climate policy. "This may invalidate all claims that the last decades were the hottest ever," Mr De Mos said.

The incorrect figures which date back to 2007 were revealed on Wednesday by the weekly Vrij Nederland. The Dutch Environmental Assessment Agency told reporters that the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) added together two figures supplied by the agency: the area of the Netherlands which is below sea-level and the area which is susceptible to flooding. In fact, these areas overlap, so the figures should not have been combined to produce the 55 percent quoted by the IPCC.

The discovery comes just a week after a prediction about glaciers in the Himalayas proved wrong. Rather than disappearing by 2035, as IPCC reports claim, the original research underlying the report predicted the mountain ice would last until 2350.

New scare. Britain will starve in 60 years because they will run out of dirt. Gonna love the science on this one.

"...life must stink for him now."

okay now currie on folks, nothing to see here.

Ha ! India is bailing out of the IPCC .

With all the gushing and clownish kow towing that the msm hacks slathered on this porno freak/embezzler/ liar/billionaire: it makes me raise the question: were they interested in his temperature concerns on more than one level? What happened at those interviews?

Speaking of geriatric sex; a recently introduced couple at a retirement home discuss the subject and she says, regarding sex at our age, I believe it should infrequent. He asks, is that one word or two????
