Good luck with that tonight: our feature performer's facial and physical gestures are sufficiently foreign as to make it almost impossible for non-Russian speakers to determine either his emotional state or his intentions. He could be welcoming an honored guest with his heartfelt performance, or he could be openly celebrating his success in removing said guest's toenails with a pair of pliers. There's no way of knowing for sure, but after repeated viewings I lean towards the latter interpretation.

You're right, Joe Citizen, when I look at it that way it's not so bad. I have a similar inability to figure out what Yodelers are really trying to say - there's just such an unfathomable gap between their (apparently joy-filled) expressions and their effect on me.

I've curled and I do wish the loudness could be contained. The screeching and yelling and dramatics could easily be replaced with spoken words like, "sweep", and "don't sweep".
It's not as if the rock's trajectory changes according to the thrower's contorted facial expressions or odd, sustained verbal outbursts.
OTOH, full contact fistfights permitted after the rock passes the hog line might spice the game up a bit.
