Dolly Parton! Now there's a handful if I ever saw one, or two!

well.

this is                       ominous:

http://rawstory.com/2010/02/prosecutors-charging-dna-evidence/

charging DNA with a crime as a loophole to subvert justice?

*DNA* ????????

(and a bunch more blanks wedged into the post. how *do* I do that? LOL !!!)

I think the earth just moved. A columnist in the G&M has written a column that is neutral on AGW.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/opinions/the-science-isnt-settled-now-what/article1469050/

did someone fail to notify Jeffrey Simpson? Will Rex Murphy get his job back. The mind reels.

Ps- I read a few of the 500 plus comments - almost all were anti AGW.

Sanity...at the Grope and Flail?

Surely the Apocalypse is upon us.

A good column by rich lowry of NRO on AGW alarmism.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/02/16/a_leap_backward_for_climate_alarmism_104422.html

The phil jones confessions are a watershed event as they definitively make the theory that there is catastrophic AGW happening UNcertain. Columns like the one above nail down this part of the issue.

The next step - and lowry highlights it at the end of the column above - is to use this uncertainty as a lever to push CO2 reduction over the political abyss. Expect that to happen in the next few months.

Sanity...The first horseman of the apocalypse.

I think this article by Dennis Prager at NRO dissects the "Doritos ad" beautifully.

Incidentally, where's Kate?

Most likely getting the mail, feeding the winners and having a hot chocolate.

A way of life that can produce both Dolly Parton and Sarah Vaugn doesn't need anyone making apologies for it.

There's a lot going on under that blonde wig - wonderful singer, underrated songwriter, savvy businesswoman.

I'll take her version of "I Will Always Love You" (which she wrote) over Whitney Houston's any day.

Here's Dolly and Chet with..

Don't let Dolly's pinups distract you.

Fire rings, [steel truck wheels], have been returned to Goose Spit beach.

The power of letters and email to the Editor.

Courtenay / Comox Regional Directors..[ not too bright politicos], have reversed their decision to ban beach fires along Goose Spit.

Letters to the Echo News Editor, mine included and [ahem], printed, Have brought back the pleasures of burnt hot dogs and marshmallows to families and kids.

Power of the pen... eh?

A tip: One of the most interesting blogs that I visit daily is Unambiguously Ambidextrous at http://unambig.wordpress.com/ If you you're not familiar with it, take a look. Some of his posts are a tad lengthy (800+ words) but, Adrian MacNair is a very talented blogger, and he runs a wide open comments shop.

TG, I saw the Goose Spit clip on the news tonight and cheered. One more win for the sensible brigade! Love that beach, as well as Kye Bay.

I'm no country fan, but I adore Dolly Parton. I once saw her being interviewed on one of them light-night talk dealies. Came out that she has a mess 'o brothers and sisters - so many that it actually shocked Letterman/Leno/Conan, who asked whether her family were Catholic. "Aw nah, they were just horney hillbillies!"

Sooke @1:53 - word.

I know my life would have been better had I had breast implants. I'm good looking, tall and slim, but I lack excess mammory glands. I wish I could get implants, on the same grounds as those who get abortions -cosmetic surgery.

Kate...You Climategate du jour....

This just gets better and better. It is an excellent read.

The Prime Minister sent the Left into convulsions yesterday with his accurate and truthful statement that nations need hard power in order to be effective at soft power. He was speaking about the purchase of heavy-lift C-17 aircraft, which are a major component of Canada's assistance in Haiti. Kill shot, "Canada no longer needs to hitch a ride."

Hoo-ah!

That Dolly Parton! A force of nature!

She always makes me feel good and puts a smile on my face. Thanks, Vitruvius (but how come it's not EBD on Wednesday?)

Flipping channels 'cuz I'm a Canadian who spent years in the states (my father was in the air force) and doesn't get hockey, Olympic or normal. What's with Newsworld or Contact or whatever it's called these days. First a long documentary on the Iraq war, Dick Cheney and the non reasons for the war, then another story on Omar Khadr. A story on Dresden and Bomber Command and it would have been a hat trick (three goals, right?) for liberalism.

pok @ 1:28 - You said it, and a lot more going for it besides that! But that is succinct.

From accounting point of view it should have become blatantly obvious, that that scares the governments shitless is not the global warming, but lack thereof.

The idea of massive redistribution of wealth clearly is intended at creating stockpiles of food in order for some chosen ones to survive what really is coming - a new ice age.

I keep saying - do the accounting, people, do the math of the things and see who is interested in the direction of the cash flow. Money always talks, this fraud is no different.

Who stands to loose most from global cooling? The Northern-most countries, such as Russia. If you want to find out where warming scam originated, look close to KGB/FSB and Kremlin. Trace the BS, you'll find whose hands creation it is.

As damning of media bias as a list can get:

"Rebagliati: Having Queen Elizabeth II as Canadian Head of State is something of the Past"

*Dont know what the official position is, but i think the commonwealth is over. We have to move forward

Then come back with this:

Rebagliati claims he was "MisQuoted"
misquoted in an international newspaper, lost in translation, getting heat for it today, Gotta love the media.

They are always Misquoted or in Denial

Thanks 'Vit' for the music. Always have enjoyed Dolly Parton. She is one of the few who has never held anything back.

"Did the New Star of German Literature Steal from a Blogger?

Bestselling 17-year-old German writer Helene Hegemann is being accused of plagiarism after it was revealed that her debut novel contains passages lifted from a blog about sex and drugs in Berlin's techno scene. She denies she did anything wrong."

"The sections in question were written by a blogger who calls himself Airen. SPIEGEL met Airen a few kilometers to the northwest of Ullstein's headquarters, at the offices of the lawyer Anja Maleu in the basement of a villa in the Berlin district of Reinickendorf. Just a few streets away are the offices of Sukultur, a small publishing house run by three literature enthusiasts. One of them is Frank Maleu, who is also a lawyer.

A Story of Sex and Drugs

The man who goes by the name of Airen is 28 years old and is wearing a t-shirt and jeans. He is clearly agitated. He doesn't want his real name to be published because he's worried he'll never work again if his employer finds out he has written a book about techno music and drugs. Airen lives in a world that's a far cry from that of Helene Hegemann. And yet Airen experienced some of what Helene Hegemann wrote about. This is what has triggered Germany's first major literary scandal of 2010."

"The Tragic Truth of War

What we dare not say: Killing the enemy brings victory.

Victory has usually been defined throughout the ages as forcing the enemy to accept certain political objectives. “Forcing” usually meant killing, capturing, or wounding men at arms. In today’s polite and politically correct society we seem to have forgotten that nasty but eternal truth in the confusing struggle to defeat radical Islamic terrorism.

What stopped the imperial German army from absorbing France in World War I and eventually made the Kaiser abdicate was the destruction of a once magnificent army on the Western front — superb soldiers and expertise that could not easily be replaced. Saddam Hussein left Kuwait in 1991 when he realized that the U.S. military was destroying his very army. Even the North Vietnamese agreed to a peace settlement in 1973, given their past horrific losses on the ground and the promise that American air power could continue indefinitely inflicting its damage on the North.

When an enemy finally gives up, it is for a combination of reasons — material losses, economic hardship, loss of territory, erosion of civilian morale, fright, mental exhaustion, internal strife. But we forget that central to a concession of defeat is often the loss of the nation’s soldiers — or even the threat of such deaths.

A central theme in most of the memoirs of high-ranking officers of the Third Reich is the attrition of their best warriors."

Come on guys! When you look at Dolly Parton, you're not thinking about her vocal cords now are you? This isn't the CBC or a Liberal meeting for the constituency of Beaver Creek South! You can speak openly!

The natural end result of the left-liberalism/socialism of the Separatist Coalition:

The Universe of the Trial.

Albert Camus, in his book, The Rebel, saw it clearly.

Camus :

“In the universe of the trial, conquered and complete at last, a race of culprits will endlessly shuffle toward an impossible innocence, under the grim regard of the grand inquisitors.”

Wow! Ray Suarez, Senior Correspondent at the Jim Lehrer News Hour on PBS, had an ash cross on his forehead in an interview tonight.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent in the Western Christian calendar, a day of abstinence, fasting, and solemn prayer.

"Kay Burley has to say sorry for mistaking Ash Wednesday cross on V.P Biden's forehead for a bruise

Sky News presenter Kay Burley was forced to make an on-air apology today after mistaking a tribute to Ash Wednesday on American vice president Joe Biden’s forehead for a ‘large bruise’.

The controversial Miss Burley, 49, made the comments during a conversation with the news channel’s U.S. correspondent, Greg Milam.

When made aware of her ignorance during a commercial break, Miss Burley then compounded her insulting words by saying: ‘I’ve said three Hail Marys, everything is going to be fine.’
