Prout's a moron. I know him personally and live in his riding. Just because the Conservatives could run a chimp in this riding and still win, doesn't mean the Liberals can. What surprises me is that anyone can run as a Liberal, since it would appear that they do not do very comprehensive background checks...had they done so, I imagine they would have thought twice about signing Prout up.

when I was on leave in Europe from PEACEKEEPING in Egypt, I had Canadian flags sewn on my clothes and luggage. I was 20 years old and I believed the stories. I found out that most Europeans, especially the Brits and the Dutch had NO IDEA what the Canadian flag looked like. One Brit guest house operator to whom I gave a flag patch thought it was an Egyptian flag! I put on my uniform complete with blue UN beret when visting my uncle's grave at the Bergan Op Zoom war cemetary and the local Dutch repeated asked which army I was from.

norm, the reason that the flag was not recognized was because the flag of Canada changed in the 1960's. Some Liberano boyz at the time (Trudeau comes to mind) did not go to war and carry the Canadian flag in the victory parades! The Vets from WWII were major force, in Canada, in the 1950's 1960's and 1970's; the Liberanos undermined the power of the Vets by changing the flag that they had fought under; some were for , some against. Divide and conquer. Our Blood Red flag (Pearson Liberals invented it) with a little white leaf in the middle resembles all other Communist flags.

The Red Ensign (red, white and blue) was the flag that Canadian forces carried overseas during WWII; when Canadian soldiers liberated Holland, France, Italy...and were stationed in the British Isles. If you would have had a Red Ensign I guarantee it would have been recognized and respected (especially in Holland).
