What an amazing view that must be for the astr...cosmonauts. That'd get you thinking, over your morning coffee.

I think they took the design for that window from the wheel of a car driven through the pot-holed streets of Winnipeg, a circle turned into a square.

Nice view from there, but who would my neighbors be if I moved in? Any mosques in space?

Looked like Arctic ice at first glance
...perhaps because Erie is frozen...for the first time in 15 years.

Is that a new window or the only window?

Odd that Lake Ontario appears to be frozen over. That never happens. Is it a layer of fresh snowfall on top of the water? Over the entire lake at the same time? Seems unlikely. And Eastern Ontario is not seen in the image. Considering it's colder in eastern Ontario, we can assume it would look the same. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on this subject could explain why the image appears the way it does. That said, amazing view.

you can almost see an Ultimate Fight from there.

not with McSquinty.

Heh. Heh. All you can see are the elephant's big gut and back legs. Heh. Heh.

I heard today on the radio clips of Bam Bam addressing the astronauts on the ISS. All I could think was, "You f*cking hypocrite, you just cut NASA's space-based objectives, and you have the nerve to use this upgrade on the ISS for PR?"

What a tool.

Nice artist's rendition...

Something's up with that space photo.
Lk Erie and Lk Ontario are not frozen.

Lk Simcoe on the other hand is frozen thick enough to support my jeep 5km out from shore

I can see Lake Ontario from my house. Its not frozen. Erie however, apparently is completely this year, for the first time in 14 years. This though, is not a big story. Erie has been frozen many times before (people have driven from Canada to the US across Erie in the winter), and is mostly frozen most years.

A better view of (but not from) the real deal is here: http://www.ctv.ca/gallery/html/nasa_view_100217/index_.html

I believe the photo is an illustration or an "artist's concept" sort of thing.

You can see stars in the windows. If the exposure time was long enough to capture stars like those shown in the image, you would not see the detail in the window frame or on the earth -- those items would be over-exposed.

That isn't Ontario.

It is what we political scientists refer to as a Great Brown Hole. It is an unplumbed produndity formed when stupidity and imbecility become so dense, that a single pound of it weighs a million pounds. The resulting mass generates gravitational forces so great that common sense and critical thought are impossible.

Great Brown Holes typically swallow up all the matter around them, collapse into a superheated mass - and then explode and destroy everything around them.

It's either that, or Canada has a land mass that resembles a rectum...

Is Owen Sound still tucked in underneath the elephants tail?

Awe come on guys! It takes someone from Ontario to fill in the obvious Ontario joke??!!

Ontario from space: as close as you want to come.

There. Was that hard??
